Yeah, I would like to know too. Neo and Semaphore ARE compatible, but they break Wifi when you flash them.

When you flash a 4.3 kernel without PRIMA driver included to KitKat rom you need to flash the dePRIMAtor fix.
I have read somewhere that there is still no compatible kernel for KRT16O,only for KRT16M because google didn't release kernel source for mako.
I would like to know is this true.

True. Kernel sources are yet to be published by Google. Until then, there won't be any proper 4.4 kernel.
Thanks man.
Do you know what is aproximately time until google publishes source?
What was the time for older builds?

Last time they did the exaxt same thing. Eventually, it was published, but later. Not sure why, maybe Google itself delayed it on purpose, or Qualcomm forced them to.

Hello im new to android rom creation and i was looking to make a up to date p.a.c man rom since we have rc2 for cyanogenmod but i was wondering if there was anything special to know when trying to compile p.a.c? thank you for your help
Well, if you just want to compile PAC it's pretty easy. Setup your enviroment like any other build but during repo init, use Pac's github instead of Cyanogenmod's github.
If you want to take CM RC2 and Merge it with PAC to get the "latest", you'd have to setup with PAC and cherry pick CM changes.
There are other ways, but these are the only way I know.
is there any real advantage to doing that? i know cm10.1 rc2 has improvements but i would imagine that would only be using it as a base, im new to this so i dont see how other pac roms like the s3 rom has all of this up to date

I think all the other roms do not have CM10.1 rc2 as a base yet, it released not long ago, right? Perhaps there would be benefits, but very little. I'm not very sure as I've migrated away from CM.

My personal ROM before I switched to PA was based on AOSP. I found that cm had some issues with 240dpi and I couldn't fix it. I used AOSP and it was fine. It was harder to get started ( root and recovery stuff ) but after that it was firne.

I compiled cwm for the p690 and when I run the fake flash. I can use the volume buttons to scroll up and down. But cannot enter any menus because the power button doesn't work. If any one could help me fix this so I can release it.

Well I found out that someone else also has it working and I continued to get problems with it.So until I get enough knowledge to fix these problems I will not releasing it but on the bright side I am in process of compiling AOKP using the latest source code as the rom that the P690 has is quite old.

Hello friends,
Android 4.4 has been released yoday along woth nexus 5.
As per Google , they said that android 4.4 wil support lower end devices as well.
Any hopes of our G3 getting a stable version of official touchwizz kitkat or at least a CM11 version?
What's your though?
Sent from my DEATH NOTE with Shinigami by my side!
Well now google says that it is optimised for devices with 512mb of ram but g3 only has 256mb and also we would need a newer kernel such as 3.10 or at least 3.4 to get it fully working, so sadly I think that g3 won't have fully working kitkat The only person which could make it working is marcellusbe I think but now he is gone

Well you're right kitkat is running in kernel 3.8 so we need newer kernel hillbeast has left the project 3.4.x cause he was working from scratch and it was to much work but on the otherhand it is still possible if marcellusbe and hillbeast and few other devs return and continue tge project then it could be running our g3 cause jb and ics where running on our 256mb ram and they where not build to run with 512mb but kitkat is so our only hope are our devs
Edit: look at it this way I have xperia arc s it's a 2011 phone and devs made from scratch 3.0.8 kernel then updated it to 3.4 so it possible to build a newer kernel we just a few good devs but all of them have left

For the final try....
All you devs have done great job in getting ics and jb at least partly on our device .
With kitkat needing lesser requirements, one final effort from all could regain g3 its deserved price.
This is our best chance to revive the G3!
Please devs , one shot at this is worth a try!!

Even if it was based on 3.8 it was still as hard as 3.4 so unless the devs continue kernel 3.4 we can only dream about kitkat for our device so like @anonymous724 said we need to wait untill ajay.d96 makes a ICS rom that's better then just sitting here with GB en FROYO

KitKat doesn't need 3.4 kernel, in fact, Android versions didn't really have any 'minimum kernel version' requirement AFAIK... Well, that's actually some good news

That could be true but then kitkat will not run as good as with kernel 3.4 cause the newer kernels got better memory optimisation than the old kernel 2.6.x
Also when we use 2.6.x kernel the drivers would be old and crappy so making it compactible was allready a horrible job with ICS and JB and making it compactible with KK is going to be a nightmare getting a proper working KK will be something to dream of let's try to finish JB first don't get to hasty

Hey man =) firstly i really like to say thanks a lot for the guide. but I have an issue. I tried to port GS3 CM10.2 4.4 rom to HTC one x CM 10.2 RC1 rom. Even i tried your 2nd section I'm still stuck at boot loop. the closest phone is one x+ and it has only aosp 4.4 so i can't use that. by displays GS3 sounded much better and i tried that. Yeah, this guide will work on 4.3 cm10.2 and any 4.0+ rom( only difference is the priv-app folder). The reason of your issue may be because the device your porting from. I here alot of people port gs3 roms using the nexus 4. Try using the nexus 4.
And remember to use stable roms. Roms that are like in alpha stage my not be able to port saying some apps, permission, etc still relies on unneeded libs.
