I think its quite common. I had encountered heating issues during gaming time. Remember one thing, Note 3 is very thin for powerful performance. I'm not surprise if it has heating issues
Mate,
I have SM-N900 same as yours and it gets very hot at the rear (just closer to camera).
I can say temp degree because i have not find a suitable application for that!
I moved from SGIII due to heat as one of the reasons and i guess i just landed on the same spot.:crying:
I hope somehow it can be controlled by future updates...4xA15 heating up like all processors!!!
Use energy saving mode to downclock your cpu. If you dont go heavy gaming u dont ned 2.3ghz. Will save battery and keep your device cooler

Haven't had any heat issues whatsoever on my Qualcomm Note 3 (N900T). I've played plenty of games, even emulating Gamecube games with Dolphin, no significant heat. It gets warm but not hot, nowhere near how hot my Note 1 used to get just browsing the Internet while charging.

I've been having the same issues, even multitasking is causing it to heat up, forget the games! Mostly the top part of the screen, front and back, I'm surprised as this wasn't the case when I was using the phone at the Samsung gallery before buying it.

The reason why i switched from 3g version to 4g version (we don't have 4g yet in our country) is the overheating.
I had an s4 i9500 and it was always burning on the back. I think it's something whith exynos processors because with qualcom's cpu, no heating even after 30min+ of heavy tasks.

I have said it in other threads, I have no heating issues here. When I play CPU/GPU intensive games it certainly gets warmer but nothing outrageous or worse than other phones I have had and it doesn't get uncomfortable to touch. I certainly don't need to power it off for it to cool down, that sounds worrying to me.
Then I think I have to contact the service centre...
And should go fr a replacement. ...

If I were u I would certainly get a replacement which I did and my second s4 is fine even wheni play intensive games it does not get hot like my previous s4 use 2 do

Mine gets warm when playing games or GPS but never hot hot hot
If you are at home screen and its hot makes sure GPS is off and go into task manager to make sure nothing is running in background!!!

N900 is octa core variant. Means it has 8 cores of CPU and its a heavy hardware. Its normal for your device to get heated.

What else do you have running and are you on a factory ROM or is your device customised?
I found switching off stuff like GPS especially helped as well as bluetooth, anything that wasn't required so I could play the games at full speed also take it out of the case if it has one when playing intensive games.
fz
i have the same problem !!
Guys its normal.
The CPU/GPU and many other modules are on the same chip (SOC)
When you play games you use the CPU and GPU on maximum frequency so they heat up, If you want to lower the heat just enable Power Saving Mode and check limit CPU.
Good luck
Does your laptop has a good graphics card and it gets heated up when playing games? Its the same thing with your phone too.

But the problem begin in the first minute and battery level down too much ..
And fast. ... is the problem can be a compatability of CPU (Armv7)

if you are on totally stock, it might be normal. It will all depends on what type of games you are playing.
Just a thought....
Games normally need an interactive response from CPU, GPU, hardware, ROM, RAM, and kernel (and other resources which I miss to mention). If you are playing a considered "heavy" games, then this is normal. But if you are playing like light games, might be something wrong with your ROM and/or Kernel (if you are using custom ROM / Kernel) -- might not suit your needs in playing the games.
Thanks alot

If you are using graphic intensive games or anything that really tests the phone then yes it can get fairly warm. Certainly gets warmer than my Note 2 but nothing that is stupidly hot
I live in greece and i bought the N910C model the 8 core! At first i was disapointed until i found out how to disable samsung DVFS(dynamic volt and frequency scaling)witch was very anoying causing games hevy lag after lets say 5 mins of playing or hard use! i can say after some days of heavy use i'm very happy with the performance and battery life also the heat isn't such a problem like it was when i had a galaxy s2 i mean it is normal heat when you play graphicaly intensive games for long time or charghing and using the phone at the same time..the last you shouldn't do it about the F model i can't say because i don't have experiance with it!i hope i helped out!
Thanks but i think all new phones will get warm right, i mean they are to powerfull wothout any cooling system
