I've been on 320 dpi for a while now. on 5.7" its great and I'd like to keep it this way. however since I got my S view cover, it only works on 480 dpi, my question is, what do I need to change in Appsettings for the S view cover to stay on 480? I cannot find the proper app

he said S-view interface. not launcher
I think KarimSalloum needs a normal s view screen and 320DPI main screen.
The s view DPI cant be changed , but nova launcher can , You can change the nova launcher to 320 DPI and other apps ,

Hello.
I changed the DPI settings to 240DPI (with the ROM Toolbox app) and I really liked it.
I changed TW Launcher (I liked it but didn't resize well) and installed APEX launcher.
For the Dialer I use exDialer with the ICS skin.
BUT, I had a nice-discrete-elegant-black wallpaper with a little ladybug that I found on these XDA forums, and on the lockscreen I see it correctly but on the APEX navigation y have a monstrous Godzilla-sized ladybug.
It scares me.
Does anybody know the resolution I have to choose? Is it a straight rule of the thumb? I mean
X * 240 / 320 ?
Why does the lockscreen show it correctly and APEX doesn't?
Thanks in advance.
I use Nova launcher it has no problem with walpapers!

Doesnt work forme mate.
Thank you anyway.
LCD density doesn't change the screen resolution.
Try using the Gallery app to set the wallpaper.
This is the pic about the problem...

I think I have same problem.
I set wallpaper and instead of it showing normal size like before now I am presented with a zoomed in wallpaper that hides a good percentege of my wallpaper crop, even if i select 1 screen fixed wallpaper.
Now what I don't know if this happened because I installed go launcher, or because of the 240 lcd density... Gonna revert to 320 now to see if it fixes.
Go launcher shows ok.
The rest fail miserably.
Fixed it now ^^
Just went to 320, changed the wallpaper, then returned to 240 and the wallpapers are correct again xD awesome!
I've tried it and I'm still with the same problem.
What did you use to choose the wallpaper?
What resolution?
While on 320 i used the TwWallpaperChooser and chose the beach wallpaper, then went back to 240 and everything was ok
Just installed the new beta of apex 1.2.beta3 and wallpaper shows perfect without doing any trick.

Hey there! I have a question, I hope you can help me. I changed via "textdroider dpi" the DPI of my phone. So far so good. It´s just that the Icons in the app drawer are also changed in their size and now a little bit too small. Is there anyway to change the DPI for everything BUT the Icons in the app drawer?
Thanks!
@elwoodblues1985 you can try to use app settings with xposed and then set the stock dpi or what you want for the launcher.
Hi, could someone to do Multi DPi ROM? Alternatively, only applications? Something like MultiX would tkari for Note 3? I don't like huge icons and font. and sorry for my english.
You can use xposed app settings apk to alter dpi on a per app basis. You can also edit your build prop to alter your dpi but make sure you have another launcher installed just in case as some app's are hard coded

Xposed is not a solution for Samsung Apps who are not built to display well at lower dpi. Because Samsung can't be bothered to use Google guidelines in their apps.
What the OP asked is what I kinda wish we had, an X-Note ROM or something equivalent, in which the Samsung apps are modified to run and display properly at lower dpi.

yesss master dpi rom man !!! note 3 and s5 was in X-note
I set the build.prop DPI to 480 and then use xposed and app settings to set the Samsung apps back to 640. For now it's the only way.

Does that work better than it had previously with some apps on the Note 3, such as the Email app having huge text?

Which apps did you set back to 640? I use 480 aswell, but only my carrier text on lock screen and key field for entereing key pass looks awful. I did not change anything back to 640 and everything seems to be ok with samsung apps. Until now I tested Galaxy Apps, S Health (with wanam fix), S Voice and E-Mail. No Problems.
@zerojay:
I have no big characters when I write or answer mail.
So default dpi is 640 and not 650?
Hi guys...
I wanted to ask is it possible to change the screen density from 460 to 360 without looking weird? Because 460 is too big.
Thank you in advance
I'm not sure, but isn't it possible via build.prop? Though it might require editing certain applications to fix layout issues.
Isn't the default 480? Anyway, of course you can change it, but as always, you'll have to modify some of the stock apps to fit right
You can use any DPI changer app (like textdroider) or edit build.prop to modify your DPI. That will make your touchwiz interface look really wonky, the icons will be smaller, but only about half of the screen will be utilized. What you then can do is to install an alternative launcher like Nova to use instead of the Touchwiz launcher. Unfortunately that means you won't be able to use some Touchwiz features such as the S planner widget.
Another thing you could do is to download a modified touchwiz lollipop launcher here from XDA (under themes\apps). That won't change the DPI, but it will allow for more icons on each screen. These launchers might cause some issues when trying to resize widgets to fit properly on the screen.
Just download Apex or Nova. They allow you to change the size of everything in your launcher, from icons to text.
Yes you'll loose the S Planner widget functionality. There are plenty of replacement apps.
Changing the density will cause more problems than it solves. Try the easy route first.

I am using Note 3 custom 6.0.1 rom, rooted and have xposed running. I used device control to reset DPi from 480 to 320. Like always, it resizes every app. Fortunately, I installed App Setting from Xposed module to resize unsupported apps like camera, keypad etc. The problem is, my TouchWiz is somehow partially effected because the grid kept its 480 scale (see attachment to see what i am talking about). I attempted to resize it from 320 to 480 back but the icon is not in their position/drawer so I left it 320 with this problem still. Any solutions?
P/S sorry for bad drawing
After change it back to 480, reboot.
Samsung launcher isn't multidpi. Best used at 480. You need to use modded launcher.
