[Q] [Question] Does the G2 charge while in download mode? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys
Just wanted to know if the G2 charges while it's in download mode. I know some phones do this, but does the G2?
Thanks for your time.

Anyone knows? Can anyone help? It'll just take a moment. ><

Yes, i have no proof. But when you look at it, you've inserted the microusb w/ + and - terminals from your pc w/c gives the device voltage.

Hi, are you still having problems with the 32B?
Does the phone start charging when you plug it in? Can your PC see it at all via USB?

It doesn't sound good
I don't know how much you care about this phone or whether you want to spend any money at all on it, but if you don't mind wasting time on a phone that's likely dead, you can try to narrow the problem down a bit.
If you have a battery tester, you can find out if the battery will hold a charge. It may be dead or damaged.
If you have any kind of battery that outputs 3.7V, you could try connecting it to the phone's +/- terminals with some wire. Most cell phone batteries are 3.7V, so it wouldn't be hard to find. Hooked up properly with a working battery, you can hook the phone to a charger or to your computer to see if it starts charging, and you can try to turn the phone on.
We're getting into the realm of miracles, so make sure to say your prayers.
Good luck.
*** Be careful with wires and batteries; don't leave the phone+battery+wires setup connected to a power source... unless you like fires.

[Q] [HELP] [L7] Charger not plugging in!

Hello Everyone! So i've had the LG L7 for almost 2-3 months now and its not my daily phone but i still use it alot. So today I was trying to plug it in to charge and the micro-usb that goes into the phone is not going in at all. The phone wasnt dropped or anything, everything is working fine but its just not going in no matter what. yes, i've tried with force, no, there's nothing blocking it inside. One thing i'd like to mention is that i couldnt find the main charger so used a different micro-usb charger (Nokia) which i've used before with my Galaxy with no problems at all . So it in plugged in without any force or anything but then i found my original LG charger so i took the nokia one out and plugged the LG one in but it wouldnt go in. I've tried 4 different chargers but nothing is working.
Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
PS - I have warranty with both my carrier (Rogers) and LG so thats not a problem. The only thing is i dont wanna install all my apps and everything again but if nothing works, ill go with warranty.
PSS - Phone is running Stock ICS, no modifications at all. if that matters.

Charging LG G2 using power bank

I found that when i attempted to charge my rooted LG G2 using an Anker Slim 2 power bank, it will charge, but when I touch the screen or attempt any touch function e.g. go back to home screen, the power bank will stop charging my phone.
Prior to this issue, it would charge for a second and stop automatically, but I found that disabling USB debugging and/or disabling slide aside helped it to it's current state. It seems that I cannot use my phone while I am charging it.
Does anyone else have this peculiar issue? I am using an LG G2 D802 stock.
I wonder if the power bank is not providing the right voltage or something. Maybe something like the Practical Meter would help.

If the power bank is not providing the right voltage wouldn't it not even charge? It is still able to provide power just that I cannot use it when it is charging.
Using the IPhone cable to charge an IPhone gives power pretty darn well, similarly on the Samsung Galaxy Note.
At this point I'm thinking it is quite likely to be a firmware issue.
I am having the same issue charging with a power bank. The current never exceeds 500ma. This is the case even when the phone is switched off. So, this once, I tried switching on the phone and noticed that while the phone was booting (right before CyanogenMod logo appears), the phone was drawing about 1800ma. So, I booted the phone into recovery (I am using TWRP 2.8.6.1) and it seems to be withdrawing between 1500-1870ma. I am not an expert but I feel that this is could be a kernel issue maybe? Can someone figure something out please? I am on CyanogenMod 12.1 17th Oct Nightly.

[Q] LG L5 is my battery dead?

Hi,
I've got a LG L5 which doesn't power on, respond to any button combination or usb plugging in or out. However, it does get warm when charging, but it's not the battery that gets warm, it's the area above the sim card, close to the camera.
The software wasn't modded or anything like that. PC doesn't recognize the phone.
So is the battery dead, or is it something else?
Thank you
Martin
