I'm having trouble flashing the stock rom vache has provided on the dev forum. (SD_Acer_A500_7.006.03_COM_GEN1.zip).
Downloaded fine, used the decrypt tool with key $12, Clear/wipe/format everything, and try to install with CWM.
Problem install aborts.
Can anyone help? I am assuming either the download is incorrect/incomplete, or the decrypt hasn't worked? Has anyone been successful with this rom?

Did you download an official acer rom from vaches thread
is it a full rom or just an incremental update - better check!
yes it could be a bad d/l - where did u get it
If it didnt decrypt you can check by trying to open it in windows. You wont be able to 'open' (not extract....) the zip if it is still decrypted
did u extract the actual "update.zip" and flash that?
make sure the you havent named it "update.zip.zip"
how did u try and install with cwm
if u use flash zip choice u dont have to rename it to update.zip
u do if u pick flash update.zip
What rom are u currently running??
Many thanks for the help, it was me being a noob and not extracting the update.zip file.
thanks again
I've tried updating my Nexus 4 rooted device via "Nexus Update Checker" app, and when it finished downloading and i pressed "install" the device rebooted and entered CWM, asking me if i want to install. I've pressed "yes", and it gave an error saying there is some "Unexpected Content" in the package. I've searched for it, and found this:
File /system/lib/hw/audio.a2dp.default.so in your device not official. It modify by some app require root permission. Or you install some mod.
In normal method (OTA) or manual install update (sideload). You will found error same this error. Because all method use recovery mode for install update package.
You can fix problem by
1. Flash official ROM.
Or find official file from other device and replace in your device.
2. Update again

(sorry, the forum won't let me post the link to the source for some reason)
So, i was wondering - where could i find a download for those original lib files for my device?
My device's android version is currently 4.4.2, updated via OTA before it was rooted.
Thanks for any further help.
To be honest I'm a noob ,but messing around with my phone I rooted my phone accidentally with kingroot n kingoroot and later unrooted clearing su and also busybox .recently that is on 1 October HTC released an OTA of Android 6.0.1 for Indian customers but when I downloaded and started installing it, it fluently went till 25% but then it completely stopped and rolled back to normal state , I guess this is because I rooted and hence few system files might have been modified
My questions
1) can I remove the modified files so that I can install the OTA
2) how to install stock recovery version (5.0.2)from htcden because the kernel file is not in zip format ,and please mention step by step procedure to do so if there is any
3)if Incase I re install the stock recovery will I be able to receive OTA again ?
NOTE :BOOTLOADER IS LOCKED AND S_ON .SO I DONT KNOW HOW TO INSTALL STOCK IMAGE
Build Fingerprint of now htc asia wwe :5.0.2
Kernel version : 3.10.61
Build number 1.90.707.3.

extract the downloaded ota update on you pc and use winrar to unzip it..you will find a file named "recovery-verified" . That is your stock recovery.

Hello devs,
please can somebody discribe how to modify the original update image, that we can install the image with TWRP without overwriting the TWRP recovery , fastboot a.s.o.
That would be great.
You can use a Archive Software like (7zip) to replace files in your update.zip . I didn't try it so no idea if it works.
I know, with 7zip we can open the files, but the point is, how to modify the update script that the recovery will not be overwritten a.s.o.

If all you are worried about is overwriting TWRP then just flash TWRP in TWRP before you reboot

Assuming your phone is rooted, running on a custom ROM & TWRP is working properly, you must download an Android 6.0 ARM package from the gapps website.
You can use the type you want but many people use pico or nano. Check the information on each package & choose the one that suits your needs.
There is also an Aroma full package with an installer, if you use this you can choose exactly which Google apps to install.

If you installed a stock Samsung ROM there is no reason to install Gapps.
Gapps is for custom ROMs that don't have the minimum Google stuff like Playstore/Search already included.
Anyway, as you asked how to install a gapps zip file, the gapps file is an "installable zip" file that requires an app like TWRP recovery to be launched.
How then do I get playstore on my phone (SM-A5108) I tried installing latest playstore apk but that didn't work?
I don't have TWRP Recovery
I have flashed Samsung A5108 with chinese 6.0.1 Stock ROM and then unlocked bootloader with CROM app...i then flashed TWRP on the phone and rebooted in TWRP mode. I then installed open_gapps-arm-6.0-pico-20170709 after copying it to the system of phone. It flashes successfully but then when i reboot, it keeps on looping on logo...can anyone help me out? I tried open_gapps-arm-6.0-stock-20170709 but get error...
