Wow.... I rooted my kfhd using adb commands manually. Thanks to Revs video.
I have no idea where you went wrong. Aren't you supposed to use 2 tools to completely root the kfhd? What is "señarate"? You may want to post this in the thread where you got your root advice. You can check out the Kindle Fire First Aide tool (link in my signature ) which may help you start over from scratch.
Good Luck!

Lol. OK.... separate makes a whole lot more sense.
Head over to the Kindle Fire First Aide thread (link in my signature below). There you should receive the help you need.
I've been able to get most of the Google Apps working in the Kindle Fire HDX with simple sideload and adding account. Below is the video showing the apps working. Follow the link below for instructions and the second link to download the Google apps.

Errors
Hey man, this is great for the most part. However I followed your steps and I constantly get service errors no matter what I'm running. Have you gotten these errors to stop? Also have you found anything more about getting the play store to work?
Thanks,
Sean
Google play not working. Gmail is though. I'm using the play store by logging in via the silk browser, but unlike with the nexus 7 I just returned, I can't get the paid versions I've already bought for my Android phone. Im NOT paying rwice for the same apps (ie Poweramp). I like the Kindle overall, don't mind its Amazon overlay, but completely resent their blocking me from using their competitor's app-store. If they want to really go toe 2 toe with Google, let them develop a full new yet redundant operating system that rivals OSX & Android. Guess I'll have to root. Is not like they own every Kindle & we're just renting like the cable box for $10/mo.
These are not the droids you're looking for.
Yeah, I'm unable to get Google Play to work with this method, and it creates a lot of errors with services and wireless connections in the process.
For all of you having problems: did you also download and install google play services as well? I hear thats required for a lot of the gapps to work.
I can confirm the following apps work with signin and sync and so on:
Maps
Keep
Play Music
Youtube
Drive
Chrome Beta
Gmail
I did need to install play services 3.2.66. And i do get random "com.google.android.gapps" crashes even when not using a google app, but it is easily dismissed.
Hmm i see that the google services framework are version 4.0.4-338691, and the google account manager is 4.0.3-239410. Perhaps it would be better to use 4.2.2 versions (if they exist) ?
Anyone seen those around in apk format? (i've only seen them in the gapps packages for cm10.x and i think they need to be repacked, which i do not know how to do...)

That's exactly what i did. But those come in a .zip for flashing on top of a AOSP rom without google stuff. I'm pretty sure you can't just extract the apks and install them (at least not the one i tried). As i mentioned i expect they need to be repacked in proper apk form, which is something i do not know how to do.

I don't quite follow you. Are you downloading ALL these files to your computer and then transferring them to the HD Fire ? I am not a tech person at all and this just seems to be over my head to do.

Yes, that's would be one way to do it. Or if you go to the web page using your Kindle Silk Browser then you can download directly to your Kindle Fire HDX.

It's simply a zip file containing the files GAPPS use and the command instruction including where to put all the files. At the moment, since there is no root, it's not possible to write some files to the system folder/directory. But for the APK files, if you install them it would put them on the user application space rather than system application space like normal GAPPS do on custom ROM(s). That said, not all the google apps will require those files to be in the system space. So, no worry there. You would simply unzip the file and try to install the apks and move the files to the user space if you can. That's the best you could do for now. I could write a little script file to do that as I did on the Nook HD+. Hence that's the root and GAPPS was done in the Nook HD+ at the beginning. I'm not gonna bother writing any script as I'm still waiting for my 2nd replacement unit. If this thing goes south again, I would just return the device and wait to see if I would get the new 2013 Nexus 7/10. I might even keep my eyes open for those 8inches Windows 8.1 tablet also.
Are notifications and background sync working for Gmail? I've read conflicting reports.
Thanks!

Any more of those annoying FCs? Did you just install the apks and nothing else? Where did you get them from?
I've not tried it for a week or so but ended up just removing the google stuff as it just kept crashing.

No FC at all works fine, all I did was go to Google play, search for the apps, find the version numbers, and downloaded through websites on Google search, Android police have them if I remember rightly, all I did was I stall the apks through es file explorer

When you say latest "services" do you mean Google Services Framework or Google Play Services? What version of each do you have installed?
No more google crashes after many resets and installs of Google service. Its possible. Everything is working without errors .otherwise I would of kept it off. I installed vending.apk inside system and outside... followed cowboy's instructions..very happy. I'm rooted though

Closed - Go here... [MOD] HDXPosed : signature check, play store, downloads, wallpaper fix...
This is the final piece needed for a working Amazon / Google tablet. After I installed this, I stopped using my ROM slots and I'm done flashing for now. These are my recommended steps for working Google Apps + AppStore. Please ask any questions within the appropriate thread...
A Kindle Fire HDX 7" running 13.1.1.0
Rooted your kindle using [ROOT] Rooting tutorial - hdx 7" 13.3.1.0 by Faznx92
Installed SafeStrap 3.70 for HDX 7" by Hashcode and are now running on a ROM-Slot.
And a working Google Apps + Gmail from Android Cowboy's tutorial (using my suggested method in link )
leaving your Google Play Store crashing, this is the guide for you!
(For an alternate explanation, see evilgrin98's steps in post #12 )
Finally, if you want a working Google Play Store *OR* the ability to to swap between Amazon AppStore and Google Play store:
Make a nandroid backup. The installer is 3 lines and has no error checking. It works with any single adb device install.
If the installer doesn't work, you'll need to figure out adb yourself and modify the install_to_kindle.bat file or follow evilgrin98's manual install process in post #12.
Uncompress attached and run the install_to_kindle.bat on windows and it'll swap to Google Play Store on first install.
Future swaps should be done by running /data/local/tmp/amazon.sh or cm10.sh to switch back and forth.
This can be done in adb shell, terminal or Script Manager.
Use Script Manager addon, SMWidgets, to install scripts as a widget for easy switching.
What these scripts do:
Installs Cpasjuste's service.odex hack + DownloadProvider apks pulled from CM10.1 (install.sh)
Run cm10.sh to switch to working CM10 Google Play Store (copying Cpasjuste's hacked + CM10.1 files)
Run amazon.sh to switch to working Amazon AppStore (copying back Amazon service.odex & DownloadProvider apks)
What to expect after running install_to_kindle.bat, install.sh or cm10.sh:
Your device will reboot
Use your Amazon Home Launcher to access Kindle, FreeTime, Lending Library, AppStore
Use your 3rd party Launcher (Nova, Apex, etc) for your Google Play Store Apps
Your Google PlayStore will be functional for downloads and updates
Your Amazon AppStore will queue downloads
What to expect after running amazon.sh:
Your device will reboot
Use your Amazon Home Launcher to access Kindle, FreeTime, Lending Library, AppStore
Use your 3rd party Launcher (Nova, Apex, etc) for your Google Play Store Apps
Your Amazon AppStore will be functional for downloads
Your Google Play Store will crash if you try to download anything in it. You'll need to run cm10.sh to get Play Store to stop crashing and download your queued request.
Alex's Use:
Stay in Amazon mode most of the time, unless you want to update or download new content from the Google Play Store
Note:
This won't work from Cpasjuste flashable gapps or ROM as he removes too many Amazon components.
This should work for 8.9" HDX if someone sends me a modified & unmodified services.odex.
This won't work with Ptiwee / CrashThump / GSLEON3's fix, unless you change step 2 to only remove the DTC file. Otherwise, it's just the same as Cpasjuste's flashable gapps and removes too many Amazon components
I provided this to the community because of the contributions of the following people who I owe a super big thanks to...
jcase for the root exploit! This Kindle HDX community wouldn't exist without his contributions.
Moronig for finding the memory signature on HDX 7" -- WTG!
slayer615 for rolling it up the exploit & root into a batch file -- rock on!
Faznx92 for writing an excellent root guide & providing regular support!
Hashcode for his awesome SafeStrap... Without it, I wouldn't bother to go further than root...
Android Cowboy for his Google Play store tutorial. I wouldn't have had my perfect setup without trying his guide first...
Cpasjuste for the services.odex & downloadprovider apks. Swapping stores wouldn't be possible without his tutorial and binaries.
Stericson for Kindle Free -- working widgets still work for HDX! Thanks!
Ptiwee, CrashThump & GSLEON3 for inspiration. Keep up with the contributions to the community! You're amazing!

Interesting. If we can get the same thing going as (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2591547) for the 7" then we could pretty much forget safestrap until we have some real roms to flash.
Edit: You are awesome... now the hdx 7" has everything - Or close enough for now.

You're welcome to try post 3 while I work out the kinks, as long as you have safestrap and your own backup to revert to, nothing here should be able to brick you on your HDX 7".

So OP is about a play store swapping, assuming other people's tutorials worked for you. See link in OP for my recommended way of installing Google Apps. I'm not providing support for it, as it's just a comment in someone else's tutorial.

I confirm it works, but Jesus
First thing's first: thank you for all your hard work. I confirm that this is working, and it's exactly what I wanted: Google Play Store with all Amazon Prime services in tact. Kudos!
My issue, which I'm trying to help with here, is that the instructions were off and vague almost every step of the way. I'll try and return to flesh out the below post, but in the meantime:
1) Use Safestrap to backup the device I had running; the backup was sufficiently large on my device that I couldn't run a rom slot parallel to it.
2) Use Safestrap to install the provided clean rom and SuperUser ZIP. Then wipe the device.
3) Boot into the rooted fresh ROM and install ES File Explorer with SU permission.
4) Follow Android Cowboy's instructions to install a Google account and the Play Store. (I attempted to use the KindleFree app you referenced and found it mostly broken and useless. Not recommended.)
5) Install Script Manager.
6) Download swap 0.0.2. The bat file did not function as expected, so I unpack the contents from "pushme" into /data/local/tmp/.
7) Use ES File Explorer to set the permissions for *.sh per the broken bat file (755).
8) Use Script Manager to run install.sh as a "script/executable": flag as SU with the argument "-c". The device will reboot.
9) Use Script Manager to run CM10.sh: flag as SU with no argument.
At this point, the Play Store will download and install apps, and at least the Amazon Prime video service continues to function as expected without having to continuously swap app stores. I'll play around with it tonight and tomorrow and return either with more specific instructions or any issues I discover.
Thanks again!

Glad to be of help! I'm vague because I did this over a course of three weeks, so I can't remember most of my steps for certain. KindleFree is required first, as I've done Android Cowboy's tutorial by itself and produced all sorts of errors as many in that thread had experienced.
Sorry to hear the script didn't work quite as expected, feel free to add more 'belt and suspenders' to it, as it was purposefully left bare bones...
evilgrin98,
Thanks for your contribution to Alex's efforts. You guys make a great team. Your method worked for me. I wasn't able to get Alex's working. I noticed some failure text at the end of text, but was unable to copy it.
It was tough following the directions because I am not familiar with the lingo. However, it was good enough for me to figure out and get PlayStore working. This means I can search, download and install apps.
I'm not sure how Amazon is suppose to work now. I don't have access to the Amazon Kindle App, Amazon App Store, Chrome browser opens into a black screen and won't go to any web page and I am unable to get live wallpapers. I've tried Stunt's fix (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42181794&postcount=75) which is suppose to work on HDX, but I haven't been able to get it to work.
My question is how do I get Amazon to work? That's why I liked this script because of the ability to have both stores. I wasn't sure about how to use amazon.sh or cm10.sh. Also, you wouldn't have a fix for live wallpapers, would you?
Thanks again guys for a job well done. I really appreciate your efforts.

After running install.sh, you Amazon.sh or cm10.sh to switch between stores.
For working Kindle and Appstore, you'll need to use the Amazon launcher aka home. You can only download new content while the Amazon Appstore is active.

Default kindle reading app
And it sounds like the amazon os kindle reading app is a no go right. Many other people are sideloading an older version of the apk and preventing the google play store from updating it.
"After running install.sh, you Amazon.sh or cm10.sh to switch between stores." I used your script, but installed using Evil's method. I guess I am not understanding how to run those files. Do I place your script folder or those files in the Kindle download area and use one of the scripts to switch between stores from there? I was going to do it in script manager, but it looked as though I would be re-installing the script.
For working Kindle and Appstore, you'll need to use the Amazon launcher aka home. You can only download new content while the Amazon Appstore is active. After reading this I used the Amazon launcher, but wasn't able to use the app store. It will just flicker and not open. I can go to the Amazon store, but can't use the Amazon app or Kindle reader on the Amazon launcher or any of my other launchers. It's not like I purchase a bunch from the app store, but just curious why it isn't working. I do have Kindle books and just wanting to know how to get it back to working. I will try installing an older version of the app and see if it will work.
Live wallpapers isn't something I wanted, so I've never found the answer.... I understand. No problem, just asking in case you had them working on your kindle.
By the way, since you are now working off your stock rom, did you delete SafeStrap or keep it?

This's just a quick guide on how to get the Google Play Store installed on the latest Fire OS 5 for Amazon Fire tablets with no Root, PC or ADB required.
This should work on any Amazon Fire tablet released from 2014 onwards (4th Generation and above) that's running Fire OS 5.X.
NOTE (1): To install the required APKs, you may need a file manager from the Amazon Appstore, I used TOTAL COMMANDER - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00H4IHJ8M/
With later versions of Fire OS or SILK, you can just tap the download notifications as and when you download the APKs or use SILKs download manager, removing the need for the above file manager.
Click to collapse
NOTE (2): You'll also need to enable 'Apps from Unknown Sources' found under Settings > Security of the Fire OS.
Click to collapse
Now simply download the 4 APK files below using the stock web browser, SILK and install them in that same order, then POWER OFF and RESTART your tablet and afterwards open up the Google Play Store and log in with your Google account:
1. Google Account Manager 5.1-1743759
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...unt-manager-5-1-1743759-android-apk-download/
2. Google Services Framework 5.1-1743759
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...s-framework-5-1-1743759-android-apk-download/
3. Google Play Services 11.5.09 (230-164803921)
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...s-11-5-09-230-164803921-android-apk-download/
4. Google Play Store 8.3.41.U-all [0] [FP] 170066753
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...41-u-all-0-fp-170066753-android-apk-download/
In future, the Google Play Store and Google Play Services apps will auto update themselves in the background.
How to install? (Sorry, newcomer!)

be sure to allow unknown sources in settings before downloading apps

Edit: stay away from ES File Manager, it was sold, and new owners have packed it full of junkware
there are several other great file managers

I take no credit for this, I'm just simply creating a quick and simple post (mainly for ease and future reference for myself) to get the Google Play Store installed on the latest Fire OS 5.3.1.1 with no root or ADB required.
All you have to do is download and install these 4 APKs below and login with your Google account, that's it:
Google Account Manager 5.1-1743759
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...unt-manager-5-1-1743759-android-apk-download/
Google Services Framework 5.1-1743759
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...s-framework-5-1-1743759-android-apk-download/
Google Play Services 9.8.77 (230-135396225)
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...es-9-8-77-230-135396225-android-apk-download/
Google Play Store 7.0.17.H-all [0]
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-store/google-play-store-7-0-17-h-all-0-release/
NOTE: This was all done on a Amazon Fire 8, 6th Gen. device.

Are those the prerequisites for Google play store? i have android system in my car multimedia. it does not have the google play store in it, and when i tried to install it (only google play store) it won't lunch and crash..
so i understand it needs all the 3 apk's in addition..
the version of android i have in my car is 4.4.2 - will the above apk version fit? or do i need different version?

Off topic question (does not pertain to device) - you'll need to ask your question elsewhere. And yes, different versions are needed depending on device type, capabilities and Android build.
I had to install latest Play Store version to get it all running on our Kindle Fire (think it's 5th gen). Version recommended above just went back to home screen.
Is there any way to get multiple Google accounts working using this method? I have a couple accounts that I need to have on devices for various reasons.
Excellent work!

FireOS yes you can update, Google framework will remain
root after updating, unlikely, at least right away

Thank you. Google Play Services on my Kindle Fire crashed and wouldn't allow me to access any Google Apps including Chrome, Gmail etc.. The message indicated that the apps wouldn't work unless an updated version of Google Play Services was installed and it seemed like the update wouldn't go through. I reset my Kindle to factory settings and followed your instructions and it seems great so far...not asking for a Google Play Services update. Thank you again Gilly10.

Hi, so you can update FireOS. But what about the google framework? Does it get updated automatically? Or if a new versione will be released, do you need to unistall the 4 apk first, and than install a newer version of the 4 apk?
Seems this method is no longer functioning. Applications are not searchable - only the webview application comes up on search results. When I search for my previously downloaded applications, they come up, but state that the administrator has not given me permission to install this item.
Furthermore it is the Google Play store for Work?
Any thoughts? This is happening on 3x Kindle Fire HD 8 devices, all of which worked previously. Running 5.3.1.1.

Thanks!
I keep getting a Parsing error when I try to install the first .apk file. Kindle Fire HD 8.9
I have Kindle fire 8.9. I've downloaded the apps but every time I try installing the first one, "Account manage" I get a "parse error." Do I need different files for my device or am I just doing something wrong?

parsing errors occur for a few different reasons
possibly one of these, but not limited to
app is not compatible with the os version
not much you can do about that other than try an older version of the app
there is a problem with the package installer
try wiping installer app data
some kind of caching error, or another app causing install failure
try a factory reset and/or flash firmware with adb sideload in recovery

So I have a FTV2 that I can't root (yet... hopefully) because it's on the 5.2.4 software - but I needed Google Play Services in order to run a particular program I sideloaded. Using the info in this guide:
http://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-inst...amazon-fire-tv-or-fire-tv-stick-without-root/
I was able to get (what I believe to be) the latest working versions (for the FTV) installed. The program in question now works fine. Here's what I did (again, all credit to the above source... all I did differently is figure out and download the latest versions of each):
1) Download the following apks (I got all of these from apkmirror) and install in this order:
- com.google.android.gsf_4.0.4-488656 (this is Google Services Framework)
- com.google.android.gms_10.2.98_(030-146496160) (this is Google Play Services)
- com.google.android.gsf.login_5.1-1743759 (this is Google Account Manager)
- com.android.vending_6.8.24 (this is Google Play Store)
2) Once the above are installed, launch the Google Play Store and attempt to login. It'll fail. That's expected.
3) Hit home key and you're gtg!! Apps requireing play services should now work (at least they did for me).
I'm not sure if you have to do the play store part or even install the play store and/or the account manager, but I figured it couldn't hurt.
Hope that helps!
Didn't work for me. Still get the
"app(optus sports in my case - Australia) won't run without Google play services which are missing from your phone"
Thanks for trying to help though.

Hi All, I have just tried to install google play on my Fire TV 2 and I get an Error saying this app isn't compatiable with your device. To fix this problem, go to settings and uninstall updates for the google Play Store App. I followed your guide exactly but I am now stuck, can you offer me any advice please. (I only need google play store to download one paid app, as it does not transfer across as a full paid app with apps2fire)
FireTV Software Version:- Fire OS 5.2.4.2 (574263120)
Fire TV Home Version 5.7.3-17
Non Rooted (Really do not want to root it)
Thank you for any help

Any luck with this? I was able to get past this initial issue by installing the Android TV version of the app which allowed me to open, but I get a spinning wheel and nothing loads so I am assuming the framework files are to blame somehow.
All I want is to install a recent version of espxe! As my current version crashes when visiting the preferences screen.
Any help most appreciated!!
Solved
Solved by installing most recent version of expse by transferring apk from device to fire tv so no need to install google play on fire tv 2
I installed and I can get the app to work. It is MSG GO. Now it is asking to allow location services. Thoughts?

Hi,
I have the same FTV2 with the same 5.2.4.0.
And like you I need the Google Play Services for the same reason.
So I installed the exact versions of apks with same the order you provided.
But unfortunately when I launched Google Play Store I only got the cruel error "This app isn't compatible with your device. To fix this problem, go to settings and uninstall updates for the google Play Store App."
You mention that you downloaded the latest version (at that time). Any ideas which versions to download, since they are to many?
Thanks in advance for your kind answer!

Hi,
Can you be more specific on the solution you describe?
Thanks in advance!
Hi
My solution was that I didn't need to install the app I wanted (espxe PlayStation emulator) at all through an installation of google play. Instead I found another android device (tablet) downloaded the espxe apk on that and then copied it to the Amazon fire tv. I messed around with different framework versions but to no avail. I was able to get the 1mobile store installed a lot easier which has many apps but this didn't have the 'paid for' espxe.
Hello, i've got several apps which need google services to work. I am lost, i dont know what to do with my fire tv stick (5.4.2.4)
