[PROBLEM] Bootloop persists after Wipe Factory/Data reset - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What I did:
1- I rebooted my Nexus 10 in TWRP Recovery and I did all the Wipes... include the Full Data...
2- I downloaded the Android 4.4 Nexus 10 Factory Image
3- I use the Nexus 10 toolkit v1.3.0 to flash the Nexus 10 Android 4.4 factory Image
4- My Nexus 10 are in BootLoop...
5- I did FactoryData wipe, and reboot system now... but, My Nexus are in BootLoop...
6- I downloaded the Android 4.3 Nexus 10 FactoryImage, I use the toolkit again and to flash this...
7- My nexus 10 are in bootloop....
8- I reboot in TWRP again, and I did the FactoryData wipe... "ERROR: CANT MOUNT /DATA";
9- I reboot the system, and are in bootloop...
10- I did all the wipes again, flash the Android 4.4 Factory Image and my Nexus are in Bootloop...
How can I exorcise this demon from my nexus 10 to start normally the Android 4.4? The problem was the Full Data Wipe by TWRP?

Toolkits = 99 Problems and then another 1... Stop using Toolkits... If I had a dime for every post I saw that someone needed help and "toolkit" was involved I'd be rich
Unzip the factory image..
The folder should look like this

Open a command prompt and navigate to the directory where you unzipped it
Make sure fastboot is in your path, if not copy it to the folder where you unzipped the factory image
Reboot to the bootloader
at the command prompt run flash-all
This will restore you to an un-rooted fresh 4.4

booting failed

Help.
Booting failed. After downloading "[LINUX] Universal Nexus Linux Toolkit v1.0 (Unlock, Lock, Root, CWM, Factory Reset)" and ran Unlock the bootloader, Flash CWM recovery (Standard or Touch), Root the phone, I didn't foud anything change (not like my cellphone, I can select recovery mode when long push the powerbutton off button), so I made a decision (I beleve that's a huge mistake), I did lock the bootloader and flash Google Factory Image. Finally I realised I couldn't boot OS, but I found at the begining of power on, I could choose "start" "restart bootloader" "recovery mode" "power off" , It said booting faild if I select start or recovery mode.
Is there any way to rescue my tablet?
I have not used that tool.. But i believe you were to have a rom on your data/ media partition on your tablet then boot into recovery and flash the rom.. Sounds like your tablet just has no rom on it.. Try to adb push a rom to data /media then go into cwm and flash it .. you can use the nexus tool kit to do this if you do not know how..
Good Luck...
---------- Post added at 06:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:43 PM ----------
oops misread . your saying you can not get to recovery.. Try holding both vol up and down together and then power button from a off state . Before i would say 20 seconds you should get a hard reset.. if not the recovery/ rom flash failed.. You will need to use a Nexus tool kit to put the recovery and rom back.. or use fastboot to push recovery.. boot into recovery and install flash rom....
Sorry
can't see device with usb or adb
I have the same problem. Unforunately, I can't see my device with adb or in windows via the usb port. Without these I can't use the Nexus 7 toolkit. Any idea what I should try next?

How Unbrick nexus 7!!
1) Download the factory. image of nexus 7 before by this https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images.
2) nexus 7 root toolkit for the advanced. utilities it. (Lower left corner of the application), then click Launch.
3) mode is advanced tool you see Quick tools (on the left), select Fastboot-Bootloader me. The middle section (Boot / Flash image) to Flash (Permanent).
4) the file you downloaded from the first) is to run it using 7zip. Do not have a zip file. Recommend that if you are exhausted. The file extension. . Img me into the same folder (for ease of flash. And protection against flash files!) 7zip app and all programs in the community. Reload this App Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.joa.zipperplus7.
Computer loaded from this link. http://www.7-zip.org/download.html.
5) flash file system before the first Boot Click Boot and select the file from 4) the file named boot.img it.
6) flash the Bootloader on file bootloader-tilapia-4.18.img. (The grouper tilapia could be it. If you use the nexus 7 Wifi only).
7) flash the Radio / Baseband file name. radio-tilapia-1231_0.17.0_1205.img it.
8) flash File Recovery file name. recovery.img it.
9) flash file system on the order Userdata System and select the file system.img userdata select userdata.img.
10) completed it. Your machine will reboot. I do not drink coffee.
11) Enjoy! ^ _ ^.
You. Ban flash the wrong files here. I need the name of the file. The only way to tell!
I flash rom 0.2 the risk. I should be very careful.
0.3 If this is the case, you Softbrick it. (Hardbrick may not), then I try this method worked 100%.
There is a 0.4 credit, I thought I was the way I make them up. I want to share with. Please add credit to it. If one on me. Help bring this up with the group, thank you.
0.5 If there is another one your way. The mind of the South. (I have yet to try it as I work) and I like that we do not have information on the nexus (the brick that we do not backup data).
Ways.
First. Downloaded SDK from this link.
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html.
Two. Then double-click. Extract the files placed on the desktop.
Three. Downloaded Factory Image (create a new folder and then extract the files to put in it).
. 4 Factory Image extracted successfully, look for a file named flash-all, right-click the file and select edit, then go to delete off-w, then Save and come out.
5. Adt-bundle up to see two folders. Click to select the sdk folder and then uncompress the Factory Image files Copy all (6 files) and put it in a folder. platform-tools.
6th. Then double click the flash-all then lay in wait for a while to update it back to Factory Image kosher by the data is lost. Mod it to disappear, they are only dancing, etc. (it's new to flash).
Note: Do not forget to delete off-w, otherwise everything totally disappeared.
Suggested: do not open a cmd without the headache type. Not faced with the annoying Waiting for device.
0.6 Read carefully and understand it before doing it. Because many steps too. And all the way I say. In the computer, you must install the drivers and I!
It's .7 stock rom nexus 7 Wifi version, select nakasi (grouper) it. The Model 3G or 3G + Wifi. Select nakasig (tilapia).
0.8 I thank everyone. And all the comments too. I suggest that the nexus 7 brick.
0.9 If a brick at me because I was pushed to the nexus 7 root tool v 5.0 to flash stock rom just to watch a lot of this toolkit. + audio bug bit orchestrated. I recommend the use of or nexus root toolkit v1.6.3 wugfresh it.

[Q] Can't boot after unlock and root

Wanted MIUI V5 on my Nexus 4 and tried doing it through unlock and root. Now I have apparently unlocked and rooted I can't boot into Android (stays on the X animation for >10 minutes) and I can't factory reset through recovery.
After installing the Android SDK I tried to unlock through fastboot.exe using the command "fastboot oem unlock" (from here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywaMf29yExQ). It unlocked, I installed a recovery menu using the command "fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.4.2.1-mako.img" and when I booted into it it asked for a password. I used my phone pin but it didn't work so I just skipped it.
After this the phone wouldn't get past the X animation when trying to load the OS so I tried using the Nexus 4 toolkit (from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995688) to install stock android 4.2.2 and it didn't work.
This is my first time into Android DIY so please avoid getting too complicated.
Any suggestions?
Flashing the stock rom using the toolkit didn't work? You mean you couldn't flash it or you could flash it but it still doesn't boot?
By the way I wouldn't recommend to use any toolkits. Better read and understand and flash everything one by one to avoid problems

Follow the directions in the guide at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2266654. I would recommend TWRP 2.5.0. You will need to transfer the MIUI ROM and Gapps files to the Nexus internal storage using adb. Download the ROM and Gapps at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327158. Boot your phone into recovery, connect the USB cable from the Nexus to your computer, and transfer the ROM and Gapps files from a command prompt opened on your computer in the folder on where you have installed adb and fastboot using the command "adb push mako_miui_3.8.23_Stock+r165.zip /sdcard/mako_miui_3.8.23_Stock+r165.zip" and "adb push ROM.zip /sdcard/ROM.zip" followed by "adb push GAPPS+EXTRAS_V2.zip /sdcard/GAPPS+EXTRAS_V2.zip". Finally, use TWRP to wipe the system, install miui_3.8.23_Stock+r165.zip followed by GAPPS+EXTRAS_V2.zip, clear the cache and Dalvik cache, and reboot the phone.

Try flashing stock manually. Follow this guide.
It didn't work because you didn't download superSU, if TWRP asks for a password its because SU wasn't in the storage of the phone. Furthermore always download the latest recovery which is 2.6.10 I believe. Also if you get into a bootloop (stuck at boot screen) go into fastboot and write in SDK 'fastboot erase cache' and if that doesn't work 'fastboot erase userdata'. As you messed up install the nexus factory image and do what you did before but with the corrections I have suggested.

Flash factory image manually then, I don't trust in any program except my head
1. Download factory image
2. Download adb and fastboot
3. Extract factory image (all the files) in the adb/fastboot folder
4. Go into bootloader mode and connect it to the pc
5. Open a command window in the adb/fastboot folder
6. Type
Code:
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase boot
7. Go to the adb/fastboot folder and select flash-all.bat file, and let it flash
It works absolutely always!!!

4.4.2 to 4.4.4

Not sure what happened here with this freaking thing. I followed the instructions located here. I grabbed both the 4.4.2 and the 4.4.4 located here.
I applied 4.4.2 to go back to stock and the tablet didn't make it past the Nexus boot logo. So, I rebooted into the bootloader and then flashed 4.4.4 thinking there was an issue.
Same result. Still no boot.
Any ideas? Of course I didn't back squat up because I did this same exact thing on my Nexus5 and it worked flawlessly. So, I figured, why back up anything because it will work the same on this tablet.
No clue what the %&@(&% happened.
I also can't get into Recovery mode either.

How did you flash these update with fastboot?
Yup. Copied all the files in the factory images to "platform-tools". Opened a CMD prompt window and then typed "Flash-all"

If using windows is the file called flash-all.bat ?
make sure if you are using windows that your CMD window is opened as Admin....
Can you do this again and post the input and output of the process here ?
Thx Josh
Yes Sir, I am.
I've done this:
Proceed with this step if you want to keep your data intact. If you skip this step, your data will be wiped. With your favorite text editor, edit (be careful not to run it by accident instead of editing) flash-all.bat (if you're on Windows) or flash-all.sh (Mac, Linux) and remove "-w" from the fastboot update command. For example, if the line reads fastboot -w update image-razor-jss15j.zip, it should now read fastboot update image-razor-jss15j.zip. The -w option instructs fastboot to wipe data.Which worked flawlessly on my N5 "upgrade".
I am an Admin user on this machine so the CMD prompt is Admin.
There are no errors either in the CMD prompt window or, the Tablet. Everything appears to transfer over without any issues / errors.

Update to 5.1.1 without loosing data

Hello together,
these were the steps to update to 5.1.1 (LMY47X) from 5.0.1 (LRX22C).
It was working for me - without loosing data.
Notes:
OTA didn't work cause of having custom recovery / root.
Maybe it was also in another thread here - but I didn't saw it
It work for me (WIFI-Version) - but might kill your device :crying:
from post #4: In case you using fastboot no very often - look here for more details: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60697487&postcount=26 - Thanks the.teejster
Steps
Make sure you have working fastboot on your PC
Download Factory Image and unzip it
Also unzip the included image-volantis-lmy47x.zip
Boot your Nexus 9 into fastboot (Shutdown device; Hold Vol-UP + Power on)
Flash bootloader & reboot
Code:
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-flounder-3.44.1.0123.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Erase everthing but data partition
Code:
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase vendor
Flash the file (found in the unpacked image-volantis*zip)
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
Reboot device
Optional: Root it again.
Download CF-Autoroot
Use the root-Scripts
Hope it helps and works for you.
One question. I am rooted and have twrp recovery. I this case : Why should we update recovery?
Alternatively, you could remove the "-w" flag from the flash-all.sh script and run it without losing data
A few key prerequisite items are missing in the OP..
I wrote up a similar "how to" over here :

Hello,
I always upgraded android manually flashing while in fastboot.

And lot of apps force close (gmail opens, but when i try to open a mail fc, eurosport same, opens but when i reada news fc, and many other)while others works flawless.
I tried wiping everything, also userdata, but problem not solved.
What can i do?
I read here that someone when upgrade android also erase "vendor", it's the only thing i didnt do, but i never did it.
Please help, finally with 5.1.1 this device flies but now i can't use it!
Thanks.
What about Vendor and recovery ?
Please see my instructions linked about 2 posts up. Follow those exactly and you shouldn't lose any data and the upgrade should be fine.

Now everytime i boot my tablet i get this error
And lot of apps force close (gmail opens, but when i try to open a mail fc, eurosport same, opens but when i reada news fc, and many other)while others works flawless.
I tried wiping everything, also userdata, but problem not solved.
What can i do?
I read here that someone when upgrade android also erase "vendor", it's the only thing i didnt do, but i never did it.
Please help, finally with 5.1.1 this device flies but now i can't use it!
Thanks.

try fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
For the fc you are experiencing, it is possibly due to the modified ART in 5.1.1 or you check if you have the latest Android Webview
I just thought I would throw this out here in case anyone needs or wants to know...
You do not need to flash the bootloader to upgrade from 5.0.2 to 5.1.1, I can not tell you if this will work coming from 5.0.1
Also after first boot and you flash twrp, you can boot to recovery then immediately reboot back to system. Twrp will install su for you. You'll just need to update the su apk in the market. No need to mess with any kind of su zip anymore.
That's all I have to add to an already great guide.

What about Vendor and recovery ?
Please see my instructions linked about 2 posts up. Follow those exactly and you shouldn't lose any data and the upgrade should be fine.
