[Q] OTA Notfication not working (still on JWR66) - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
while waiting for the Nexus 7 KitKat 4.4 OTA i found out that my Nexus 7 is still running JWR66V (rooted).
There has been a minor Update to JWR66Y, but my device never informed me about this. When I am checking the systems updates there is "nor update available".
I had installed FOTAkill.apk half a year ago, but i did remove it from /systems/app
Any idea how to get OTA back online again ?!

4.1.2 update is regionally restricted

Long story short, I was in Italy last week when the update was released. I was notified and installed without a hitch.
I came back to Mexico last Saturday. I was notified again of an update.
I didn't give it a second thought, figuring Google had released a hotfix for any bug they might have discovered.
Low and behold, Google downgraded my N7 back to 4.1.1 due to my geographic location!!!
I was rooted in before and the original 4.1.2 updated perfectly, as the 4.1.1 downgrade I was subjected to.
I tried the Force Stop / Clear Data trick. My tablet does detect the update, but upon reboot I get the firmware screen with the red warning sign.
I'll try the force stop / clear data trick again, as I've seen fellow xdaers getting a fully functional 4.1.2 N7.
Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations?

[Q] Android 5.0 update notification appeared for sometime but vanished afterwards.

Hi,
I got Android 5.0 system OTA notification on my Nexus 4 at 1am, but I didn't update it because I wanted to have a steady 3G network and once I reached office in the morning ,I observed that the Update notification vanished.
After performing "Check For Updates" from settings ,I am getting the message that my phone is up-to date.
This happened to me for 2 consecutive days.
I have Kitkat version running on my Nexus 4 (Not Rooted)
Any pointers will be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Girish
same here!
Now when check for updates, it shows the firmware is latest. No more lollipop!

[Q] Nexus 4 still no 5.0 Lollipop OTA

Hey guys!
Just got my brand new Nexus 4 (got a great deal on a NEW one and decided to get it as a secondary phone). Anyway I sat through all the updates from 4.2.2 ---> 4.4.4 but can't get the 5.0 lollipop update as much as I try spazing the "check update" button. Will it come? Have you guys all got it already?? Should I wait until tomorrow?

Lollipop Update is not showed ...

Hi,
I have a Nexus 7 ME370T (Wi-Fi Model). I'm currently on 4.4.4 but if I check for updates the message is "System is Updated". No 5.0/5.0.1/5.0.2. OS is original and was never rooted. How can I get OTA updates (don't want to flash from factory images).
Thanks in advance
Stefano
I would stick with Kitkat for the time being until Google works out all the issues
wait!!

The Android 5.0 update for the Nexus 7 had loads of performance issues. So they stopped rolling it out.
Based on what I hear from the forums, Kitkat > Lolipop for N7.

[Q] Nexus 7 5.0.2 OTA update error

Hi xda developers... i have a pretty strange issue which i couldn't find on any other threads.
When the first 5.0 ota update came i really wanted to do an OTA update... BUT because i had the tablet rooted i had to flash the whole system... I realized that 5.0 is not a useable OS so i flashed the system back at 4.4.4 jellybean.
So i waited till the 5.0.2 came and my notification bar told me that the system is ready for the update... I pressed reboot and install and when it was in the installing screen...it stoped at around 20% and then an error appeard.
So i cant install the ota update but i don't know what is the problem...i tried 2 times more and the same...
I have to say that my tablet is not rooted but it's unlocked if that makes a difference.
P.S: I also have the wifi model and the build number is : KTU84P.
p.p.s :Thanks for the attention
didn't look hard enough. look at my response in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3002555
Basically reflash the needed images to bring everything up to the correct baseband and build
