Lockscreen no longer works CM10.2 - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Hey guys, I updated to the new CM10.2 M1 and I'm not sure when it started, but my lockscreen only works for a few minutes after I reboot the phone. My battery kinda seems to go quicker as well. My guess is something's keeping it awake. What is the easiest way to tell? Also, if the two are unrelated, how can I fix the lockscreen? Thanks in advance!

[Q] CM7 battery percentage in status bar?

Hi everyone,
I am using my rooted Droid and am currently running CM7.0.3. Everything has been awesome on it, but I had read that it comes with a tool/app that displays the battery life in 1% increments in the status bar. I cannot seem to locate the option to do so.
Anyone know anything about this? Thanks in advance =)
If the option is available, it should be some where in
Settings->Cyanogenmod Settings->User Interface->Statusbar

Sileshn is right, that's where you would be able to find it. The only thing is (as far as I know) the Droid 1 is not capable of showing increments of 1%. I've been trying to figure this out ever since I rooted my Droid as well. I've been working with a few theories, but so far nothing has come up.
The battery in the status bar will show 10% steps from 100-20 and 5% steps from 20-0.
Thank you! It was under "Statusbar Tweaks" =)
I was able to find it. Yeah, I have been trying to figure out a way for a long time. From what I gathered as well, just simply not possible on the Droid 1. lame. But, thanks for the help finding the battery increments! This will do for now.

I have the Martian. I haven't tried the weather since I updated the firmware. The old firmware caused a gps wakelock that drained the battery on my phone.
I will turn on the weather again and let you know.

Thanx stelthy77, please let me know.:good:
Looks like it is working so far for me.
I did have to reboot the watch.
Here is what I did:
In the app: Enable weather forecast, go to settings, confirm changes twice.
Reboot watch.
It didn't show up right away, but after I got another notification on the watch it was there.
Just press the lower button once, and it pops up after the status info and date. (6 degrees here, chilly...)
You can also try doing all of the above a second time if it doesn't take (recommended by Martian).

Glad you got it working. I was just gonna ask if you had location issues.
I am still getting some battery drain from the Martian app when running with weather on. Let me know your results.

[Q] Lock screen widgets with secure lock screen

Hey guys
As most of you probably know, as soon as you select for instance a pin for your lock screen the S4 disables the possibility for lock screen widgets. I'm currently getting around it with xposed and SamsungMultipleWidgets KitKat.
Just curious if there's any way around this limitation without xposed, or maybe even without root? I'm guessing that it's not possible, still.. I'm curious.

Some ROMs have this feature baked in. SlimKat for instance. I dont believe there is a way whilst using a stock rom without using xposed, at least i never found one, and I looked hard!

Yeah, I know.. I had it built in while running CM. Just had an urge to go back to stock for a while and was just wondering what features I wanted actually required root (and xposed).
If anyone else knows of a way, please let us know.
Hi gys, slightly different issue here, but would appreciate any help.
basically the PIN lock does not activate until 30 seconds or so after the phone boots up. So there is no securuty on initial boot up.
Its there if I do a reboot. But not there if I do a startup from fully off.
It used to work but at some point a few ROMs ago t stopped working.
I was told it was the kernel but I have tried 4 and all with the same result and have tried several roms.,

notification settings wont stick

I've had the phone for a few days now, its been working great except for the fact that when i turn heads up notification off for pretty much any app the change doesnt survive a reboot. Im on stock MDB08B with root. Anyone else experiencing this?
Yes I have the same problem. Build # MDB08L
the problem still exists on latest build

Turn Off Heads-Up Notification completely then restart.

Alarm clocks fail in morning S7 edge 935F (fixed)

I just got a new S7 edge 935f. I rooted it with magisk after installing twrp. I have tried a few Nougat stock roms and in all of them, my alarm clock fails to go off first thing in the morning. It will come on when I push the home button and for the rest of the day all alarms work fine. It is only the first morning alarm that fails.
I wonder if this is due to something wrong with the kernel, and if installing a custom kernel may fix this. Or is the a lib file that may be corrupt.
Anyone else experience this kind of problem? I read in a few articles and forums that it is linked possibly to a SOD (sleep of death) bug. Hoping some information can come from anyone else who knows of this.
Thanks in advance.
So a custom rom and kernel failed to fix this. In the kernel settings with mtweaks I even allowed all wake locks. Mos puzzling and even slightly frustrating...

Hey have you tried using a third party alarm clock so you can test if it's an isolated case or with all of them ?

yes I have and all have same issue. For the first alarm I have to manually wake up the phone, all others work through the day.
Surely I am not the only one to have this trouble....

Yes, I checked all those things... I wonder about MM 6.0.1 if the issue would remain or not. I found an app "SOD Killer" that I will test. It results in some battery being used to keep it from going into deep sleep. Have googled this and there are a lot of others with the situation but not a lot of fixes around.

I feel my alarms fail as well from time to time, but i think the culprit is, in advance features the easy mute function have you tried turning it off ?
It might have a bug or something with the sensor.

No I haven't tried that. I have mine working now. It woke me up this morning. What did it is the app "SOD Killer" which is on google play. It increases battery useage a little but until I find out which file is keeping phone asleep, it's a small price imho.
do not "freeze" or "doze" or use any similar apps to "kill" clock app in background.
which means, clock app needs to run to have alarm working.

I don't kill or freeze anything. Only thing I have to make alarm work is the SOD Killer app that keeps phone from going into deep sleep.
So a funny thing happened on the way back to Marshmallow 6.0.1 as I had just finished getting through setup and was about to start doing things on my phone, I got a notification that there was a firmware update downloading. It was taking me back to 7.0 and it upgraded my phone to the first version of Nougat for Luxembourg. Then a few minutes later another system update was downloading and I installed it and my phone now had the latest Nougat for Luxembourg. So first thing I checked was the alarm. I set one for 4 hours later, and it worked. I also tested an overnight alarm and it also worked. So now I have working alarms. Still going to downgrade back to 6.0.1 though, just feels better than Nougat to me.
