Hi there, I'm wondering if there is a way to disable LG's clipboard manager. It's a no-go in terms of security. I'm using keepass and all the passwords I use are instantly in the clipboard manager. Couldn't find any solution yet other then annoyingly removing every single clip by itself.
I'll jump on the CM rom as soon as there is a stable version out there. Any ideas for the moment?

As some of you might have heard, there is a security issue on some Android phones (including the SII) that enables someone to create a link which will wipe the data of your device when you click on that link from an Android device like the SII.
I have discovered a very cool App that prevents that from happening. All this App does is to recognize everytime you click on a link which wants to execute some code on your device through the dialer.
It then automatically tells you if it`s a dangerous code and if it`s harmful for your device. If it`s a normal phone number then you can dial it straight from the App.
Simple but very effective App that closes the security issue until Google/Samsung etc. decide to do something about it.
Here`s the link for the App:

I haven`t developed this App so all credit goes to the Developer: Joerg Voss
Thank you so much for this info. Even though I'm using Firefox as my basic android browser. I have to use android's native one from time to time. Now can do that we less worries :good:
I hope that this is not the wrong place for my post.
I am trying to protect an apk from being copied/extracted/backed up off the phone and installed later, on another phone.
I have to mention that the app is not (and will not be) for sale on PlayStore or on any web store, being sold along with the phone. This is why I can not use apk protection offered by GooglePlay, which is anyway cracked at his time.
But I want to take advantages on this situation: every single phone will pass trough my hands (I will install myself the app) before hitting users. How can I use this advantage in order to protect my app?
At this time my app is not visible in Running Apps drawer, is having a default Android icon and the name is disguised in something pretty innocent. GUI access by dialing a code. No worries, is not malware but only a security app regarding GSM connection security.
Also, is running as a system app, which make it invisible for apps like Astro file manager, thus impossible to copy/back up by such file manager apps. Unfortunately there are a bunch of system app managers, that can convert a system app on user app, and then copying the apk file is easy.
I know that security sucks big time when it comes about Android OS, but I am determined to find a way to protect my app.
I know also that even a licensing scheme based on IMEI, WiFi MAC or Bluetooth MAC addresses can be bypassed by some skilled crackers. This values can be spoofed or even null.
I have tried apk encryption. Doesn't work: some apps supposed to encrypt other Android apps are actually encrypting only app libraries, not the apk file itself. By encrypting apk file, the app obviously will not work.
Code obfuscation is not an option as long the app can be duplicated off the phone and installed later on another phone.
The last idea that I had: pulling some app resources (like drawables) from a server. What do you think?
At this time I'm in a dead end. I have no more ideas how to protect my app. That's why I need your help. Can you give me please some feasible ideas, based on your huge experience?
Thank you very much for your time.
theres a thread

Thx a lot sak-venom1997.
I have a rather peculiar problem with the app choose tab that pops up whenever I try to open a file that has no app associated to it.
In older Android versions it used to be that I could just click on the name of my favourite app that would suffice to have it open up the file for me.
That has the huge advantage, that I can still choose to use a different app next time around.
That still seems to work with stock Android 7.1 on my Samsung Note 8, but not so in LineageOS 7.1.2 on my P900.
There I must actually click one of the two options of "Just Once" or "Always" - nothing else will do.
That leaves me with the incredibly bothersome task of having to navigate myself all the way through the settings menu, should I ever in haste push the "Always" button.
Is there any way or modification that would make LineageOS behave like standard Android in this way and/or an easier means to undo the effect of pushing "Always"?
Thx in advance for any help with this.
Nobody got any idea here?
Hello all. I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a file manager for use on my OP6T (any Android device, really) that has these features:
1) Multi-tab support
2) FTP support
3) Custom Gestures support (this is important to me)
The only file manager I've ever found that has all those features was ES File Explorer, which we all know was removed from the Play Store. I know it's still actively developed, but I'm looking for an alternative, if one exists. I've searched the web using the usual search terms, but nothing shows up. I really got used to being able to open new tabs, close tabs, navigate the filesystem, and many more things by just using gestures in ES.
You all are my final hope in locating another file explorer/manager with those features. My fingers are crossed! TIA
Solid Explorer, hands down. Best one I've found yet

Click to collapse
I believe you missed the part where I said that I want the app to support gestures. As in custom gestures, not as in just swiping right to access the second panel.
Yes, Solid Explorer is good, but doesn't have gesture support. Thanks for your suggestion, however!!
Hi All,
I have a tablet Tab A model SM-T515 LTE. It has the latest update but it's so slow it's pain to use it. Any suggestions how to make it a bit more usable?
Greetings.
I have a US SM-T515 with a similar issue. I actually logged in to seek a bare-bones ROM. I was able to improve it a lot, however. I started with standard troubleshooting, disabling all visual and system enhancements in the setings, but that made litle change.
Next, I accessed the "Google" tab in settings. I began to disable everything.
When I got to customizion services, i went down the list, disabling each item.
I got to Chrome and disabled that. The screen froze for a moment, and the window closed. Suddenly, there was a marked improvement in performance.
Next, I changed my default browser from Chrome to Firefox, just to be certain that using the browser might not re-enable this somehow, someday, like after an update.
The only issue I found is that now, when I try to access that Google tab in settings, the window flashes open, and closes. I believe something may be corrupt, and removing all Google applications, then re-installing them might fix that, but for now, everything that I want to work, works fine, so I am not touching it.
Good luck, and best wishes!
A sure fire way to speed everything is to degoogle with microg. I haven't tried it on my T510, but the rom I use here still seems peppy. Another thing to try is use a script to reorganize all the sql lite databases. Last resort before degoogle is to backup all your data with the help of Neo Backup and factory reset your device. Then restore the app backups, leaving out anything you can do without.
