I've been really digging for a modded google wallet for the note 3 that allows use of nfc. The S4 guys have a modded flashable wallet and I thought why the hell I'll try and needless to say that broke NFC and made the phone pretty unusable.
Has there been any promising or working work around I may have missed from other device forums

From what I read it can't be done because of the way Verizon has the nfc/secure element on the sim. My reason might be off but I know I read it cant be done. Isis works as an acceptable replacement

Yes it does.

Does anyone have the corrwct apk? It's not compatible in Google play anymore with the N3. One Verizon rep told me the other day it was.

Possible solution
Unless the device is running 4.4 or CM 9/ 10.1 , the Note won't have the required NFC libraries to allow for HCE. Rooting doesn't rellay make any difference as the libraries were needed at the time of compiling the image file.
Hope this helps

I miss Google wallet ! Anyone who had it and came to Verizon has to feel the same way. Matter of fact I lost my champs reward card but was fine, because I had my wallet. Anyway I've had my RAZR for quite some time and am baffled at the lengths Verizon went to to block wallet. I tried to side load it from a NS4G and a Samsung intercept, it's not possible.
1. Does anyone no what physically limits it?
2. Is there a way to have it functioning on out phone?
3. How is Verizon allowed to do this?
I refuse to use ISIS for any reason. And just want my wallet back.

Why do you refuse to use ISIS ? It's similar to Wallet. At least you HAVE an option/choice, unlike a lot of us that don't have either.
I would say that he would refuse to use isis because it isn't available in nearly as many locations as Google wallet is.
Sent from my XT907 using xda app-developers app
I refuse to use Isis because yes its less available and also it's a principle thing. I see that as giving in. Might I ask how you don't have an option @ all ?

I have a Nexus 4 currently. If I pop in a T-Mobile prepaid SIM card, will I be able to freely use Google Wallet (freely as in just download and update from Play Store, no sideloading and other stuff)?
I've heard recently that T-Mobile blocks the use of Google Wallet; wasn't sure if it was a device-specific block, or overall carrier block.

That is not true at all! It woks just fine!!!
I used Google wallet on my galaxy nexus and now on my nexus 4 on tmoblile's network with no problem.
Mabie you misunderstood and they don't preinstall it on their phones. In which case I'm sure there is a .apk file for it out there somewhere.

That's not true either, I've had coworkers with the Verizon Samsung galaxy nexus and Google Wallet worked for then.
Like i said earlier, it is more likely that the carrier or manufacturer removed it from the stock ROM. In which case if your phone supports NFC you can install Google wallet from the play store or get a .APK file. I'm pretty sure there is one here on XDA somewhere.
Remember NCF is still an emerging technology. However most high end android phones manufactured within the past year ( such as the galaxy S3 and S4) have an NFC chip.

Verizon has requested google block access to downloading Google Wallet from the Play Store, but if you sideload Wallet it will work.
Don't need to sideload Wallet, you can just get it from the Play Store. No tricks or hacks needed.
Just make sure that your TMo SIM isn't a ISIS SIM card (google on how to see if its a ISIS sim card)

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck getting the IR blaster to work on a AOSP ROM'S. Has anyone tested Peel Smart Remote on one, or possibly managed to get a WatchOn apk and get that working on AOSP? Having the IR blaster is the only thing keeping me on TouchWiz at the moment since my TV remote's power button is fried, but I would really like to get TouchWiz off.
Download smart remote from the play store. It works very well.

The $10 one that specifies gs4? And that is confirmed to work on AOSP ROMS?
I don't think it will work. Asop roms delete pretty much ALL added features to the phone. Someone would have to get the apps from TW and see if they work on it. I'm not sure which system app you would need. If I knew which system apps I needed I would test it for you. I have the smart remote for g s4 app

@kyhassen: Yeah, that's just about what I thought. I'm sure if someone dug through TW enough that whatever code is needed for it to work would be found. Could even be something as simple as a call method to find the hardware that gets passed along to whatever app the user is using, which could then be ported into an AOSP to keep that working..
@Mahapederdon: Thanks, please do keep me in the loop if you find something

Yeah keep us up to date on what you find!
The IR code is proprietary. Meaning it is unlikely the needed code will be released any time soon. Its possible someone may reverse engineer the drivers one day, or the code will "open" so all hope is not lost.
Try to back up the apk from stock through Titanium backup and restore it on your favorite aosp rom and see if it works.

Has anyone tried that?
I just did on slim bean it installs and opens but it won't work as a remote I think aosp doesn't have the s4's or drivers.

Ok, so then it looks like someone needs to either reverse engineer the drivers, or talk Samsung into releasing them.

And I just asked Samsung about that, and they basically said no. Anyone know anyone who may be able to reverse engineer it?

So I'm guessing that smart remote won't work.
GS4 on Slim bean and CarbonROM
Hardware support is missing at the kernel level, .apks won't fix it.
It seems to be fully functional on the Google Experience S4 and also CyanogenMod nightlies according to users and reviewers.

when i tried to download this app it said that it wasnt compatible with my device. however, i saw my buddy who has a nexus 10.1 tablet (dont know what its called)
how do i get this app on my phone. this app was the only reason i wanted an iphone 5.
i want to get the full version of the app. i dont mind paying for it but i need a way to access the apk
i've found some sites that are hosting the apk and data but i'd rather ask here to see if anyone has got it working on their device
i currently have the modded google play store, i dont know if that has something to do with my issue
I might be wrong when I say this, but assuming you're rooted you should be able to edit the build prop of your phone the "trick" the Play Store to think you have another phone. I'd advise waiting for someone who knows what they're talking about before trying what I'm saying.

This is the free apk I took from my Note. Once you launch it for the first time it will download the data which is over a gig.
Works great for me..I'll probably buy the full game.

I know this is *way* too early to get any real responses, but I wanted to throw this out anyway and keep it in the back of peoples' minds:
Do we know anything about this phone's support for Isis or Google Wallet (NFC tap-to-pay, not just the universal app)? Seeing as it's a Verizon flagship phone, it seems like it should at least support Isis, but I haven't been able to find any info at all.
Anyone have an inside lead?
Verizon threw all of their support behind Isis so that they can sell the tech to business. Don't expect google wallet wout root.

From my understanding Wallet is now a universal app, regardless of phone/carrier. Having said that, the NFC capabilities of the app might get blocked by verizon... but it's somewhat doubtful. It's like VZW trying to block PayPal from their appstore.

See, that's what I thought: now that Wallet is a universal app, the NFC tap-to-pay features should just work. However, I went to a T-Mobile store with a demo Note 3 and installed Wallet just to check, and the tap-to-pay feature wasn't accessible. It didn't even give me the option to add a card. It seems likely that the Verizon version will behave similarly.
Interestingly, though, I was able to download Isis on the demo unit. I wasn't able to activate it, seeing as it didn't have the proper SE-enabled SIM card, but it seems to suggest that the Verizon version will also support Isis, even though their website doesn't list it as an Isis-ready phone.
Do we even know if the Note 3 has an embedded Secure Element? Given Samsung's track record, I've got to believe that it does, but I haven't found any info at all.

Never put anything past verizon. The ability to custom rom a phone is a universal google thing, but verizon blocks the bootloader...
So, after poking around the other GN3 forums, I found this on the T-Mobile forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466990&page=4
Looks like the Note 3 *does* have all the hardware required to run Google Wallet, there are just carrier cripples in place to prevent us from using it. What else is new? Anyway, seems hopeful that we might get it, once we get root and can modify the build.prop and the nfcee_access.xml files. And as we all know, Wallet is vastly preferable to Isis.
According to VZW support the phones will come equipped with nfc sim cards.. which directly indicate that ISIS will be implemented on the sim itself...
As it is currently with Verizon, Isis uses the secure element in the nfc sim, not on the phone. Google wallet, bump an pay is not enabled at least for. Verizon phones...

Well...I'll answer my own question:
ISIS definitely works. Paid for a Jamba Juice with it this afternoon. It's a piece of crap app, but it works
Google Wallet downloads, but does not include the tap-to-pay feature by default.
I'd still like to see if Wallet could get ported to the Note 3. Maybe use the Sprint version? It's just so much better than ISIS...
Yes isis installs and accesses the secure element that big V said they won't allow! Funny isis is allowed to access the secure element but Google wallet isn't allowed. Finally I think there can be something done cause now they are doing the exact same thing Google wallet does but now can be proven they are blocking it.

That may be your problem then. You might be able to activate the factory SIM online or you might have to call VZW to do it. These SIM cards have the secure element inside of them.

Hey anyone able to download the latest Nov 14, 2013 version of the Verizon ISIS mobile wallet app? I have some side loaded version of ISIS and it works just fine! But why is the note 3 Verizon model NOT SUPPORTED? This is just a stigma associated with android devices, no one has an answer for anything!
I have the SE SIM installed, and the isis app < 2.0 version does work just fine. I don't care about the 1star reviews complaining about how google wallet is not supported, I don't care about that - I just would like to know anyone able to side load an AT&T isis wallet app in the verizon note 3?

Last i checked on Google Wallet on this forum, they mentioned its still not working on Verizon Note 3.
