[Q] Download mode

Hello.
I have a problem with a Stock G3.
How do i get it in to recovery? Tried power + volum up/down + home etc etc..
The problem is that the phone has a locked security pattern and the customer does not remember his e-mail/password so i need to rest it.
Plz help

try it like this : Vol down/up + home + power

Stock ROMs does NOT include CWM...
You should flash a rom with CWM or g3mod kernel.
Maybe you mean download mode?

sorry - not recovery but download mode, changed topic...
is it possible to reset the phone in download mode?

Uuh you dont need cwm recovery to factory reset.

Recovery is vol up+vol down+home+power(All buttons should be pressed in order). Hold till you see I5801 bootlogo. Try it.
Edit : - This is for recovery. In download mode you can t factory reset.

Okaj so i cant reset the phone in download mode, what can i do?

Can i use Kies to factory reset the phone? Any suggestions?

You can flash stock xxjps or flash another rom

Uh as I said you can boot into recovery (vl up/down + home + power) then wait till it boots. Or you can reflash the ROM if you know which on it is

Go in download mode and flash kyrillos rom non oc version.
Then go in recovery and wipe data/cache/dalvik cache
Then flash stock rom.
Now you are sure you have a factory phone.
Ps: this is the long way. If you just need recovery flash the rom you prefer

So much not needed to do a simple factory reset!
Do this:
turn off phone
press home & vol up/down(both) keeping them pressed press power button and on gt-I5800/1 logo release all buttons
you'll see stock samsung recovery(just 4 options available)
use vol keys to navigate and home to select
select wipe data/factory reset and let it happen

This does not work on this phone for some reason Doing it exactly as you have described...
Must probably do it the hard way and flash CWM etc...

Goto download mode and flash a .tar as one package that contains only datafs.rfs. You ll find it in CyanogenMod thread I think.

With cache.rfs for a full reset
Or a better idea
Open back cover of the phone
On the bottom left (near the screw) just where the battery ends there is what small hole
That's the hard reset switch
Press it with a small pin and done!
Remove sdcard if you wanna preserve sdcard data

Please help! I9505 problem after 4.3 update wifi toggle and root

hello guys and thanks for your help in advance!
So i updated my phone today through kies to 4.3 ..Everything working perfect but then i realized that my wifi toggle won't turn on! all the other things work fine...so i deided to backup my phone with titanium and then do a facotry reset and flash the firmware with odin...which lead me to the other problem....chainfire's tool isn't rooting my phone! it all goes through perfectly but after my phone restarts super su is not intalled and i don't have root can any1 help me out?? thanks

Go to Apps - Settings - More - About device and make us a beaty screenshot for see all is ok before start to do things :fingers-crossed:

Bro i had the same problem. I flashed it with stock rom and then it worked perfectly. It means u have to start with the scratch.

I see where is the problem:
- Use Odin v3.09 -> HERE
- Untick Autoreboot
- Click the button CP and select this .tar file -> HERE
- Click Start and it will flash that file (wait till finish)
- Reboot manually (taking the battery off)
- Put the battery in again
- Reboot to Download Mode using (Vol Down plus Home button combi)
- Flash Modem once more (like before)
- Once done, unplug then reboot device manually and test if all go ok
- If this doesn't work, try repeating the flash process again while rebooting manually and with auto-reboot option turned off.
~EDIT: If that doesnt work, do what is telling ya this person @sheributt. Flash again ur ROM

lash Modem (Use the buttom CP) sorry i don't what u mean by use buttom CP. so i flash the modem once when the phone is on and the second time in download mode ..or both times in dowload mode

yeah i figured it out so i did it..flashing worked..baseband version changed... unfortunatley wifi still won't turn on thanks for your help anyway

- Close Odin 3.09
- Open Odin again
- Put ur phone in Download mode
- Click button CP
- Select this file -> HERE
- Click in start
- Ur phone will reboot automatically
- Tell me if u have WIFI

still no wifi this sucks....i googled around ..and a lot of people managed to fix it how we are trying to do it...flashing the modem...i read on another forum that they did the same thing but with odin3-v1.85...could that be the problem?

- What u can do now is try to ROOT ur phone -> MORE INFO
- When u finish install Recovery Mode -> Flash this FILE in Odin selecting button AP or PDA
- The phone will reboot automatically
- Shutdown ur phone again
- Go to Recovery Mode (holding Power+VolUp+Home) and install this .zip -> HERE
EDIT: If this dont helps ya, u will have to flash again STOCK ROM

thanks...got no recovery..i'm not rooted..so i'll just flash again a stock rom

Wifi's nothing to do with baseband... you can delete your baseband and still use wifi (like all wifi-only tablets).

Omega Rom v28 question

I have a question regarding the new 28 version. I flashed it, following exactly the instructions. Flashed the new modem >I9505XXUFNC9_GSM_LTE_Modems.tar< . After flashing the rom, everything works perfectly well, but in the about device menu the baseband version is I9505XXUFNBH. I really dont think thats a big issue, because everything works just fine, I am just wondering should it be that way or should it show I9505XXUFNC9 instead. Or maybe i still have the old modem version and flashed sometilhing wrong. Can you guys check in your phones and me a reply?

I think u need make again the process:
Put ur phone in DOWNLOAD MODE
Use Odin
Untick Autoreboot
Flash modem I9505XXUFNC9_GSM_LTE_Modems.tar
Once done, press the POWER button till ur phone turn off
Reboot once again into Download Mode using (Vol Down plus Home button combi)
Flash Modem once more
Once done, press the POWER button till ur phone turn off
Turn on ur phone normally
Enjoy ur new modem/baseband

Galaxy Note 3 HK 16 Gb softbrick need help asap!

Hi i currently own a Galaxy note 3 16gb Hong Kong version ( the copper gold one ) and cant go back to stock rom tried every possible thing but still no hope i always get the invalid ext4 img error when flashing with odin! any help please? i am currently running Sweet Rom v20 everything works fine i guess but the video camera apparently doesn't work!
Is it possible to bring my phone back to stock rom? or stuck with custom roms?

Did you wipe flash in Recovery Mode ?
You need to do that time you go from Stock to Custom or vice versa.

CWM based recovery v6.0.4.7

Try this:
- Full wipe - factory reset
- Remove battery and wait a minute
- Power on with Vol Down+Home+Power to go directy into download mode with Vol Up
- Flash with Odin, but untick the "Auto Reboot" option
- Remove battery and wait a minute
- Power on with Vol Down+Home+Power to go directy into download mode with Vol Up
- Flash again with Odin, this time let it reboot

Still no hope, followed the steps but still with the same invalid ext4 image error

PS- Fixed my phone downloaded latest HK firmware and flashed with Pit file! cheers guys

Have a problem putting custom recovery on my s6 edge plus g928g

Hey so im not really new here just made a new account because i forgot my old one......so i recently bought an s6 edge plus and decided to root it with arter kernel....i did everything oem unlock usb debugging....then i download the kernel and super su and put it on my phone......then opened odin put the recovery in AP....then put the phone in download mode and clicked start.....so it said pass and then it was still stuck on downloading so i rebooted by holding volume down and power.......then my phone turned on as usual so i switched it off and entered the recovery again and the samsung default android just popped up....ive seen a guy on youtube doing the same thing and he got to the recovery but fore the same old samsung recovery kept popping up....any ideas or help ?

Before you flash a custom recovery on odin you must uncheck autoreboot on odin and then once you flash custom recovery you have to manually turn of phone and turn on using recovery combo

I have autoreboot unchecked.......but i cant manually tunr off my phone because it gets stuck on the downloading screen......then when i hold power and vol down it restarts.....after that i switch it off and use recovery combo only to see the samsung stock recovery

Don't switch it off. Straight after it starts up after using the download combo move you finger from the volume down to the volume up button, then you should be in custom recovery.
