Does anybody know if Voice Notification feature can be controlled programmatically? E.g. turn off at night or turn on in the car only.
Tasker doesn't seem to be able to do it a.t.m.

It worked once for me, but hasn't worked since.
That gives me a smidgen of hope. Maybe an update will soon fix it.

Mine worked great but I think I disabled it somehow bc it stopped?

I'm still trying to figure out what app I disabled that stopped certain parts of voice control from working.
"Shoot" works to take pictures, always has.
"Answer" and "Reject" does not work to handle incoming calls...
Anyone figure this out yet?
I've had some problems trying to get voice control to work with music. I thought maybe the music was to loud to hear me, but it has trouble with the headset too. Reading about what disabled app made me think maybe S-Voice. I will have to try re-enabling it.

I have not disabled or frozen S-Voice on my S4 and the answer/reject commands are still not working, so I don't think that's the issue.
There must be a way of muting all sound from the phone (calls, notifications, etc) except for the alarm .... Besides manually lowering the volume for each volume

Try Silent Sleep from Google Play, works well for me or Mute Ringer.
Hold down power and press mute (speaker with a line through it icon)

Check out AudioManager. It's a pay app but allows you to control all individual volumes. I use the widget on my home screen when I set my alarm on my phone and turn sound off and I can verify that the alarm volume is still on.

depending on why you need this why don't try airplane mode?
even if you don't need data connection, is clear

I still want to be connected to the internet to allow apps and stuff to update and work in the background I just want to be able to mute all the sound except the alarm in 1 click
My alarm stays on full volume regardless of all the other sounds. I put my phone on vibrate every night and it doesn't ever mess with the alarm volume

Just put you phone in silent mode. Long press power and press silent.
Alarm will never be turned off regardless of the profile. That's a feature!

Not quite what you're after but I use timerific to silence my phone at night

Not sure one ROM you're on... But lowering the volume using the volume rockers doesn't effect my alarm notification volume level.

exactly the vol buttons only effects calls, music etc, the alarm has to be changed manually,
there's also quiet hours so you dont need to change it every night
Such a big discussion about nothing. When you put your phone on silent, meaning all the sounds are off, you will still hear the alarm.
I change it ask the time depending on my usage.

I was wondering if there was a way to make my phone go into silent mode (ringer off) when my pebble smart watch connects and goes back to default ringer setting when disconnected. My only idea would be to use tasker but I've never used it before so wouldn't know how to set it up, any help appreciated
AutomateIt is a good app to try.
The command should be,
When Bluetooth on, turn phone on silent.

Just what I was looking for, thanks for the reply
Anyone else experiencing bugs with Moto assists? I've seen numerous reports of various bugs. Let's get them all out on the table in this thread.
When I go into driving mode my ring tone volume gets set to zero and then I'm unable to adjust it up ever again unless I reboot the phone. I spoke with Moto support and they had me clear cache through recovery but it happened again the next day.

No issues here. Do you have an app that adjusts audio like an equalizer? Are you using xposed?

Nope. No apps that adjust audio I'm aware of.

No xposed either? So you simply go to the Driving Action and it kills the volume? Does the volume slider work but the actual ringtone sound doesn't?
No xposed. Yes only ring tone volume gets muted. Rocker won't adjust, nor can I by going into settings. I have to reboot to enable it.

I think I found the culprit! I use an app called Tablet Talk that syncs text messages with my Nexus 7. I was killing off apps one by one and when I killed this one my ring tone volume returned!
Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
There is also an app called Shush
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.publicobject.shush
that when you turn your volume down to mute a scroll circle pops up and you can select the amount of time you want before it turns back on your ringer volume to the loudness of your choice. During driving, weather its enabled or not it plays havoc with the phone when a call comes in and flashes uncontrollably with the contact on the screen.
Some apps dont play nice while driving mode is enabled and working
Any one know how to turn the vibration off when a Bluetooth device disconnects?

No, but I am interested in the answer
Bump. Me too! Most annoying...
