I flashed my US Cellular Samsung Galaxy S4 a while back with CyanogenMod 10.1 and everything worked fine. A few days ago I updated to 10.2 and everything worked except MMS. I cannot send or receive MMS. I have been searching through forums, google and have not found the answer on my own so I am asking for help. I updated to the lastest nightly hoping it would fix it but no.. Some say its the APN some say its a google issue. I looked for the 10.1 I have before but it seems to be dropped on cyanogenmod's site and no nandroid backup How can I fix this?
Have you set up the APN to what your stock APN would be.most of the time anything to do with service would be APN issue. You didn't mention you tried the APN is why I asked

I have tired editing the APN when I save it, it disappears. I try to open a new one then save it, it disappears. In comparing what others have posted for LTE mine is different but cannot find a flash to is in clockworksmod. I have lost 4g/3g with the latest nightly, I installed from a clean flash I do not like doing the dirty flashes.

Hello Guys!
A friend of mine has Nexus S and he got an ICS OTA update from the carrier.
Now he can't send or receive any MMS. He has all the settings correct in the APN settings. Does anybody have such problems, should he install some custom rom (which one would you suggest?)
Thakn you for your answers,
Z
I have the same problem on a i9020 (no letter noted behind the battery) bought in the UK, using it on telia in sweden. Can only send mms over wifi atm. If i downgrade to 2.3.6 i can send mms on the same radio.
Same problem here. I've been Googling for an answer in the past and it looks like some people (depending on the country and the carrier) had the problem solved by using the data APN settings for MMS's. However I could'nt succeed using this method. Right now I am waiting for the next update to fix it (It was working on 2.3.6). Anyway I'll stick to ICS as more and more people tend to have a smartphone with data enabled making MMS useless.
this is also broken in my nexus s on Mobilicity Canada...hope there is a fix soon as it was perfect on gingerbread

I had a similar problem when I got the nexus s simfree, but it was on gingerbread. I'm on o2 in the uk.
I had no connection to o2 at all. They were also unable to provide a working apn for the nexus s, I ended up getting proper apn settings from a user of the o2 forum.
When I installed ics (ota) update manually I never had the Same issue. Worked perfectly.

I also didn't have an issue after I applied the 2.3.6->4.0.3 update. The problem only appeared after wiping, so I suppose it's a configs issue?
I have the same problem on ICS 4.0.3 OTA and i didn't wipe anything.
I think it's a well known ICS 4.0.3 bug.
I am following this thred..
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=23233
Its a gobal bug.
If I turn on 2G only I can send and receive mms and on wifi connected..
The fix is already on aosp builds. Code needed to be fixed
I saw a mms fix on one of the AOSP builds floating around but the note said 4G only, could you direct me to one with the fix? (I tried androidME 1.2.3, nexusbeam 4.2.3 and bigxies 4.2 tonight, neither worked)

same here... tried many different combo kernel/roms but nothing ...
Same problem here
I have been running ICS on my fassy flashed to Cricket and used the Alt Carrier Fix. Everything but sending MMS worked fine.
I just flashed the latest AOSP JB ROM and 3G keeps trying to connect but wont. Just like ICS did before I flashed the Alt Carrier Fix... So I flashed the ICS Alt Carrier Fix but it did not work. I figured it was a 50/50 chance it would work. So basically it does not work with JB. Any one know if there is a JB Alt Carrier Fix or if APN's are able to be edited in JB?
Need to get my data working.
**UPDATE**
JB Data Fix is posted in post # 4
Hey did you ever find a fix for this? If not, there's a data fix zip on the cricket users forum website just look under the fascinate thread. It worked for me, AOKP ICS Build 32 but also works for JB roms

No I havent.
I tried that with JB and it never worked.
Ok I found a JB 3G data fix. Can confirm it works with Cricket.
I do not take credit for this. I found it on cricket users and the person who posted it there didnt know who he/she made it either. I think it says who the author is when the flash finishes but I can not remember.
3G connects much faster than the ICS data fix did. 3G was connected as soon as I booted to the lock screen.
enjoy!

Alright. So mostly i don't post on forums because usually i can search around and find the answers elsewhere. But this time i couldnt seem to figure it out. So i have a GS4 i337m on stock with ktoonz kernel and the mg1 baseband. Ever since i flashed the ktoonz kernel i couldnt seem to connect to wifi anymore. tried installing multiple other kernels (even stock) with no luck. I eventually gave up and went to cyanogenmod 10.1 nightlys. This time, wifi worked but i couldnt get ANY sort of network access. I remember in my GS3 days i had to use a MMI code and change some things in there to get it to work, and im not sure how on this phone anymore. Now, i switched to the infamous rom with the same results as CM 10.1. I really preferably just want to get CM 10.1 working with DATA and not have to resort to factory reset. I know this forum is filled with geniuses lol, any suggestions???! Help would be greatly appreciated

Hi There,
Sorry i forgot which thread i got this from but each time i flash a new rom where i cannot turn on WIFI, i would flash this attached ZIP in recovery and it would resolve the problem. At least for my i337M
i was on GOLDENEYE ROM for a couple of days in vegas came back and wanted to flash back to stock because of some small issues.
did a flash back to MDL and it flashed fine data worked and everything yesterday i found it weird that none of my user files were deleted as if it flashed over the custom rom. had to re root did that easily.
last night i got home and decided i wanted to flash all the way back to stock, did that and next thing i know, no connection to apn at all.
no web cant text, nothing.
im on MDL now i have tried flashing to MDB and MDL (AT&T btw) no data on any of these roms. any help please ?
i have no idea what to do
i thought about removing the triangle and going to at&t and requesting a new phone would that work if nothing else?
help pleaaaaaase
thank you !

could you provide the stock att lte apn settings for me? ive already tried a few but im willing to try any you provide to me as well. please !
EDIT: SORRY MEANT TO MENTION I WAS ON GOLDENEYE ROM BEFORE FLASHING BACK TO STOCK MDL
Has anyone with a Sprint Galaxy S4 found a stable combo of any Cyanogenmod build and modem that allows for: 1. Consistently successful MMS sending and receiving AND 2. Stable 4G LTE that hands off well between it and both 3G and WiFi?
In the alternative, any specific tweaks to APN settings to allow for items 1 and 2 above?
If you have found such a successful combination, please post here, and please be as detailed as possible (CM build, baseband version, specific APN settings, etc) , thanks!!!
Cheers,
VegasRooted
I hear you on this. I've had to disable LTE in order to get the phone to work properly, since the Phone would become non-operational after LTE signal would drop out.

I was on CM11 12/22 and Beanstalk 4.3 and used this..

Now I'm on ProBam and all seems to work well. My MMS on WiFi is sporadic at best but on MMs and LTE/3G I'm ok.
Hope it works for you.

So how well does your LTE hand-off to 3g? I have to go into airplane mode in order to get 3g working after leaving LTE, (even though the phone claims to be connected to 3g after dropping off of LTE)

Thank you very much, I'll try the latest nightlies of CM11. They must be working better than CM10 as far as MMS & LTE is concerned. One last question: which type (and version) of recovery did you use for your CM11 flash? (TWRP, CWM, etc.) Thanks again!

I'm on the latest CM11 nightly (1/10/14). 4G works fine for me, but mms is very spotty. It works right after I boot my phone, then it stops working. I don't know why it happens, but I receieve MMS messages right when the phone boots, then it stops working. My modem is MF9. I'm not sure what exactly is causing this problem. Would flashing a new modem help? If so, how would I do it?
Update
Yes, I would recommend that you try flashing the MK2 modem.
All is working well for me now: MMS sending & receiving, good hand-off between 1X, 3G, 4G LTE, and WIFI, etc.
I'm now running the latest CM 11 nightly (1/13/14) with the stock MK2 modem, and I'm using CWM 6.0.4.4 as my recovery.
FYI:
Just for kicks, I went back to the last (stable) version of CM 10 to see if MMS played any better with the MK2 modem (since I would still prefer to stay on CM 10; I just like JB 4.3 better), but unfortunately I encountered the exact same results that had caused me to start this thread in the first place: bad MMS functionality, bad hand-off between 3G, 4G & WIFI. So... I guess on 4.4 (CM 11) I shall remain....
Thanks again to everyone for their contribution(s) to this thread, you all have been very helpful!
Cheers,

You can get the MK2 Modem from here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23252070760974263
The proper MD5 sum for it is: 39b0b32a8ee338543fdaa91ab2774f79
This is a flashable TAR, so you can just use Odin to flash it from download mode.
Cheers!

Thanks for help I flashed the new modem and it didn't do anything. I started apps from startup and discovered that AdBlock Plus blocks mms because it monitors port 80, the same port MMS is sent on. I fixed my problem by uninstalling ABP and I use AdAway as a replacement.
sorry for asking this guys but does the CM11 lets you SIM UNLOCK the phone as well im asking this because thats what im focus on many thanks
im just new in this new era world....god bless y'all
