Hi guys,
I currently have a baseband of I9505DVUAMD8 (i9505 phone) I am trying to flash GSM_Modem_XXUEMJ5_and_LTE_Modem_XXUBMH1.tar from Omega ROM thread.
When I do this in Odin it will pass with no errors but every time I come back into the ROM it will still have the same baseband. I have tried flashing the same radio from the following thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025&highlight=baseband) and had the same issue.
The only thing I can think of is that I currently have an issue with my volume rocker where vol up is bent in. I am getting into download mode fine but didn't know if this would impact the flash of the radio in Odin.
Any help greatly appreciated.

No dice unfortunately
I was thinking if I did a stock ROM with the higher modem version in the actual firmware would that maybe give it a kick in the right direction?
I was thinking of one of these ROM's (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250824) that lists a higher radio baseband

U may try that.
U may find lots of answers there.
Anyways, have u untick "Autoreboot" in Odin during flashing it?
If it fails, u may have to follow what lambstone says here:
Use Odin v3.04
1.Untick Autoreboot
2.Flash modem
3.Reboot once again into Download Mode using (Vol Down plus Home button combi)
4.Flash Modem once more
5.Once done, unplug then reboot device manually.
6.If this doesn't work, try repeating the flash process again while rebooting manually and with auto-reboot option turned off.

Thanks so much for your help mate!

Hi there ... yes I've done something wrong and would like to try to fix it without going to Vodafail to get them to berate me.
I was trying to install PhilZ Touch recovery but was having trouble with Odin (1.85, and 3.07 I was trying) and finally gave up and just wanted to make a normal boot but the dreaded firmware message has come up.
I've had a quick search & read and it seems that I need to flash (with Odin) a new stock ROM.
It's getting late here so I'm not going to try anything more without a lot of advice and reading.
So any suggestions please?
I'm in Australia with Vodafone, phone is about two or three months old. i9505.
Cam you get into download mode? Turn it off then press home, power and volume down at the same time, if you can download a stock firmware for your device this can be found at Sam mobile. Then flash it with Odin. Always use the latest version.

Try ODIN 3.04 as well
Thanks guys, I'm downloading http://www.hotfile.com/dl/227186782/ebf4c32/I9505XXUBMEA_I9505XSABME4_XSA.zip.html now and will try it when it's finished.
And yes the phone will go into download mode okay.
I also had a think about it last night and I'm not against putting a different ROM into it, any suggestions?
Okay trying to flash that rom with Odin failed.
Where do I go from here please? Like I mentioned, I'm more than happy to try a custom rom.
Hmmmm just tried flashing CWM recovery ..... that failed as well.
Help!!
Know its probably a stupid question but did you root the phone before trying to install Phillz recovery?
If not, try CF-Autoroot, then try Phillz recovery. If you can't get these flashed you may have corrupted your partition table. Here's a link to the PIT file you need - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477 (Make sure you get the right one or you can say bye bye to your toy- I believe you should have an I9505)
Read this, then go and try again....

No problem, just remember though that flashing the pit file is no small thing... If that stuffs up or you have a corrupt pit file you can actually hard brick your device... It really is the final step before giving it back to Samsung to fix...
Glad it all worked out and cheers....:good:
Yes I'll try to not need to do that again!
I've got a Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 Australian Model. The Snapdragon one.
I initially had Omega V10, I upgraded to V18 and the sound turned itself on and off, but then it started rebooting randomly and sound stopped all together. I upgraded to V19 with the same issue of no sound after the first call is made. I re-installed V19, V18 & 10 a few times. I flashed the appropriate modem for my old boot-loader several times on each rom and done clean installs as well.
I then moved to the Pheonix ROM, Installed exactly as the instructions stated. I then installed the modem as per instructions as I was having issues with the GSM/LTE then after the first call sound stopped working all together. I flashed ROM again and again, flashed the modem again, flashed a Wi-Fi Fix modem, flashed the kernel a couple of times and sound still doesn't work. It's every time after the first call is made, it just disappears.
I then decided to do a stock recovery in Odin. I installed official stock firmware XXUBMG4. Still no sound, I was getting the sound on boot but now it's gone all together.
What's my next step here? I'm almost certain I didn't flash an incorrect modem file but maybe I did........Should I try installing official 4.3? Is this something to do with installing a modem that's higher than what I should have installed and now I can't go back but only forward eg: 4.3?
I've lost root now as I flashed the official stock firmware via Odin, I'm happy to do whatever it takes to get the sound working. I'm not fussed at all about warranty.

Before you flash the file your downloading now would you mind Downloading and extract this file (You should see GSM_Modem_XXUEMFK_and_LTE_Modem_XXUBMH1.ta r)then flash the http://www.mediafire.com/download/48r0rgqv25s8968/GSM_Modem_XXUEMFK_and_LTE_Modem_XXUBMH1.rar file with odin by selecting phone. I want you to turn off your phone manually and wait a few sec and Press and hold Power+ Volume down Until you reach Download mode. Now open odin and select PHONE/CP and flash away. Have a nice day.

I just flashed this but it didn't fix the sound, as soon as it loaded I had an error coming up in the notification bar asking me to reboot as something was detected, something along those lines. It's the first time I've seen that error come up...is that something to do with Knox?
I'll flash the file the firmware I'm downloading now in 10 mins then see what happens. Or should I flash the firmware then flash this modem after?

Okey Im guessing you have the new bootloader since you said "knox" try to download and extract this and flash the http://www.mediafire.com/download/hdzf6fbobotxi61/GSM_Modem_XXUEML4_and_LTE_Modem_XXUML4.rar file with odin by selecting phone. This is a fix only but if the problem still persist feel free to flash the file that other guy gave you. im only giving you this fix just because alot of people had this problem that got fixed.Go to Settings and make sure that modems flashed ok

Ok no worries. I've already flashed the other firmware that the other person gave me. I'm now flashing this modem as the sound didn't work still. I didn't have Knox until I downloaded the firmware the other person suggested to download. I don't care about voiding Knox as I don't need it or use it.
I'll see what happens when I flash this modem. Thanks!
Ok, so far I've flashed the Official Stock Firmware XXUBMG4. I then flashed the GSM_Modem_XXUEMFK_and_LTE_Modem_XXUBMH1.tar. I then flashed the OPS 4.3 Firmware with Knox, I then flashed the XXUML4 Modem. None of this has fixed the sound, I'm not also getting random reboots every 30 secs or so.
So frustrating!! Why so complicated :S :S

If you just got a new bootloader aka Knox warranty Void that's okey , flashing any modem wont void your warranty . But if you flash a custom rom/Root then its over.If your knox got void means no more warranty for your device. Have a nice day.

If u still having MK9 firmware installed in your phone:
Download and unrar this FILE
Use Odin
Untick Autoreboot
Flash modem (the file u downloaded in step one (.tar))
Put off ur battery and put in again
Reboot into Download Mode (Vol Down + Home button combi)
Flash Modem once more
Put off ur battery and put in again
Once done, unplug then reboot device manually.
If this doesn't work, try repeating the flash process again while rebooting manually and with auto-reboot option turned off.

Glad that file help's you mate. and yes flashing a wrong Wifi/LTE fix will break your sound on old bootloader.
Hey friends,
I really looked everything up, but I could not find anything what helped me with my problem.
I have a Galaxy S4 (GT-i9505) and I wanted to update my modem from MKE to ML6. Because I had some issues with updating it (there still was the MKE at my "Status" after updating to ML6), I tried to double-overwrite it (someone wrote at a forum, that that will solbe the overwriting method). So, I started Odin 3.09 and deleted the "Auto Reboot" option. After the first flashing, I took out the battery and replaced it again. Then I did a secound modem flashing. The result was: There was still the MKE modem AND I cannot call anyone. Everytime I try to call someone and I click the call button, my Galaxy seems to crash. The screen is getting black and I have to shut it down by holding the power button for several secounds. Of course, I already tried out other modems (like to MKE modem again and MJ8), but the problem still exists.
Could anybody please help me!
Thanks,
Robert
Have you tried changing rom + modem? you cannot just randomly try modems with a certain rom as some will work others not.

Open odin select PHONE/CP (Find the modem you download) Connect the cables (check to see if it shows added on top/or should be a blue?Notsure or wait atleast 10 sec) then click start ,once done , remove the cable. and after done rebooting go to you phone setting>More>Device info and check if your baseband version change. have a nice day.

Had the same thing yesterday, tried all sorts of modems, with no avail.
Ended up flashing a stock rooted Rom (MGA), flashing a custom recovery and restored a Nandroid. Forgot that flashing a complete stock Rom usually also wipes the internal SD so that was a bit of a hassle.
Now, running a new Rom again, with Wifi, sound and being able to make/receive calls again. Easiest fix also: flash a (compatible) stock Rom :good:

Thank you mate. I also found (5 sec before I read your post) this post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46969768&postcount=2
So, everything works now. The short version for other guys with the problems is:
- flash stock rom via Odin (PDA)
- you can find the stock rom for your country at sammobile.com
- also use the "pit-file" of the linked post (but I don't know, what the pit-file is changing?!)
optional:
- re-root your device again, because now it is not rooted
- new custom rom
Thanks for every help!!!

Except flashing the Wifi Fix was the thing I did to ruin it all. Don't flash a "new" Wifi fix using an old bootloader. You will lose sound/being able to make calls. It's the thing that messed it all up over here.

I was already on the new bootloader.I've flashed Original FW, Modem + Wi-Fi fix and it fixed my phone. (Possibly also PIT but can't remember)
It can be that our problems were different but produced the same problem.. I'm not a dev nor do I understand everything about Android.
I can be wrong, but that's how I fixed my phone. Just trying to help
Summary: my I9505 mic, earpiece and speaker don't seem to work and cause fc/not responding on functions that use them (phone), what should I do to resolve? (I have flashed a bunch of ROMs, and a couple modems...).
Detail:
Ok, so firstly I must apologise for not recalling the somewhat random sequence of events which has brought me to this juncture... I was fiddling around with a few different ROMs and when I noticed the problem I sort of frantically tried flashing things to fix it (yes, I'm aware this is a very sensible approach )
I've flashed a few different ROMs and at some point flashed a new modem.
I noticed yesterday that I was not getting any sounds out of my phone, noticed when using the volume buttons, no beep; further investigation revealed the speaker, earpiece and microphone seem to have decided to take an indefinite nap...
Any suggestions on how to proceed with waking them up?!
There is a message in the logcat:
getDeviceForStrategy() speaker device not found
Though not sure if this helps at all.
Making/receiving phonecalls the screen goes black and either rings out to voicemail before I can answer, then displays not responding wait/close error or the other person answers and neither side can hear then same not responding error.
I've not changed the bootloader (as far as I'm aware...).
Wifi/mobile internet work fine.
Tried flashing an old modem, factory resetting, reflashing a ROM (currently CM10.2) but no dice... since I'm a bit lost I figured stop fiddling and ask for help
Current baseband: I9505ZHUAME3
Current bootloader: I9505ZHUBMF4
Any suggestions on how to proceed to un-screw my phone would be greatly appreciated. :good:

Flashing a wrong LTE/Wifi fix will loose your sound . in Old bootloader you can't flash any newer LTE modem than UBMH1.and for the New bootloader you can flash all the new LTE modems, including MKF etc.. So boot your phone into download mode and check if you have an entry of knox warranty void then you have newbootloader. and make sure you manually turn off your phone and wait atleast 10 sec and boot your phone into download mode and flash . (Because sometimes flashing a modem/lte doesnt work and need to do it twice.
Use Odin
Untick Autoreboot
Flash modem
Reboot once again into Download Mode using (Power+Voldown)
Flash Modem once more
Once done, unplug then reboot device manually.
If this doesn't work, try repeating the flash process again while rebooting manually and with auto-reboot option turned off.

and make sure you manually turn off your phone and wait atleast 10 sec and boot your phone into download mode and flash . (Because sometimes flashing a modem/lte doesnt work and need to do it twice.

What am I flashing? The WiFi fix you linked above? I flashed that using this method and it hasn't made any difference.

With which modem? I've tried that twice to no avail.
Thanks for your continued help, it's appreciated.

Yes indeed! Thanks again!
I'm now wondering whether I should upgrade to a newer bootloader? Is it worth it and can it be done without getting into knox related issues?

Im still in oldbootloader and i just download and flash a custom rom 4.4.2 via recovery .. and incase something wrong with my phone in a future . iE Hardware related.etc theni can just flash a 4.2.2 and send it for repair for free... and about newbootloader , flashing any custom rom/rooting will triggered your knox , so feel free to flash the latest stock 4.4.2 kitkat if you dont care about your Warranty. But like i said you can still flash a 4.4.2 custom rom without flashing a newbootloader (Never flash a newbootloader , Make sure to ask first before flashing anything) Have a nice day.
Edited: @mrlizard123 Never flash a latest Wifi fix so you wont get this problem again. only flash a GSM MODEM. if your flashing a custom 4.4.2 rom then you need to flash a latest GSM MODEM base from your country. in order to fix dropping signal issue when the phone went to sleep.
I was trying to flash the sm-g935u firmware on my sm-935a phone through a guide and It messed up with odin when i tried and it kept failing. I am trying to flash it back to stock and need some help. I equip the AP file and it keeps saying failed when i hit "start" any help would be appreciated please!
Some extra info would come in handy as to which stock 935A ROM are you trying to flash? What version of Odin are you using?
Personally, I'd use the BQC2 files from HERE

I tried every version of Odin BUT latest version and that solves my problem.
Thanks though
make sure oem unlock is turned on and usb debugging. that tends to solve alot of issues, i ran into that my self a few times.
