Is there any means to extend the wallpaper underneath the Status Bar and Softkeys? I dislike the black banding, especially under the Softkeys. I know Paranoid Android does this but one reason I bought a Nexus was to get out of ROMs--plus I'd rather not waste space on ROM backups.
I have root and the willingness to muck about in the system APKs.
Bump.
Just wait for any expert to make a mod

Or, I could ask and see if any developer who already knows how this is done in Paranoid Android will tell me.
I would like to do this as well... is it possible without a custom ROM?
it needs framework modifications, but mods exist. evilisto made one if i remember that right.
i dunno why you would want one over a rom though. makes no sense. roms on nexus base on aosp and official vendors blobs. what you get is stock android plus features. you cannot compare it to roms on legacy devices which emulate android, need hacks and exploits.
ps. PA has per app coloring. this goes way past simple transparent bar on the homescreen.

Can I backup a TW ROM and an AOSP ROM and switch between both whenever I want and it run smoothly no matter which one I'm on?

Halo is interesting, but I'm not a huge fan. I really don't have a use case for it. I also don't really like constantly having the halo on my screen when I'm not using it. Lots of people seem to love it though.

From what I've read it doesn't have to be on your screen at all times.

I guess I'm just not a fan of how multitasking is implemented with Halo. I applaud the developers for making it, but it's just not for me. Honestly, I wish Google would just add an app drawer to Android that can be accessed from within any app. Part of my problem with Halo is that I have to preconfigure which apps I can multitask with (notifications notwithstanding), rather than being able to fire up any app I want regardless of what I happen to be doing at the time.

Hello everyone, I'm now using HTC One with Google Edition rom, and I ****ing love it. I'm switching to LG G2 but I really hate the ugly UI, is there any custom rom, or any way to convert it to Google Edition? Thank you.

The g2 has better hardware than the one, but aosp is not nearly as stable. I love my phone, but coming from a nexus, I sure miss stability.

In my country they sell only D802.. is that a problem?
Also, does anyone know what's the difference between the One's and the G2's speakers? I mean, I know the One's are way better, but as for the volume, which has the louder ones? And how louder are they?

D802 is supported too, no idea if the stability is any different but I wouldn't imagine it would be.
As for comparison against other phones for various stuff; no idea.

Knock on is okay but knock off can't be used on lockscreen and even in launcher you have to tap the status bar.(With nova launcher you can knock off by double tapping on home), but that still won't give you ability to knock off on lockscreen.

In Paranoid Android, you can use knock off on the lockscreen. It's been implemented since Beta 5, I think.

Better than what, stock android? It's really hard to explain "what it is" exactly, I'd suggest researching it.
Just think of it this way...you can install modules (tweaks) that do different things. It's not available for Android M yet.

It let's you install modules that tweak the ui, save snapchat snaps, Instagram photos, hide root from apps, tons of stuff

It's a way of getting most of the benefits of a custom ROM while still running stock, and being able to pick and choose which of those added features that you want.
Essentially, it hooks into the framework of the ROM you're running at a low enough level to provide modifications that standard apps don't provide. Using it requires Permissive SELinux, and right now Marshmallow doesn't have that. "Is it better?" is an illogical question, as there's nothing like it against which we can compare. It is good to have as an option, though, because it can allow for things on nearly any ROM that the ROM creator might not have thought or opted not to put into his ROM. Another thing that is useful from Xposed is the ability to hide whether or not your phone is rooted on an app-by-app basis. This allows apps such as Google Wallet (Android Pay) to function in their entirety regardless of the state of the phone. Long story short: We want it.
Does it work? Does it work good?
Yes and yes. just need to enable the softkeys now.
