My question is one that I assume is either 2 simple or 2 complicated.
I am no developer I love following xda but I am dreadfully dissapointed that AOSP and CM and AOKP roms are not available as daily drivers for the i9500. My question is why? why does the i9505 have a version of all of these with a minimal amount of bugs. will we be getting a working version as well?
also 1 more question can anyone point me to the "same as cm bugs" all developers keep on mentioning

Hello
I am looking specifically for the PA Galaxy "S4 Verizon global" port. This link is the closest I have gotten to anything that looks like a DL for PA. "https://sites.google.com/site/unofficialparanoidandroid/home-1" Sadly I am not seeing which of the HAMMERHEAD, or MAKO would be stable specifically for the S4VW. If there is a forum for PA S4 pleas link it here so I can study it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The are device specific forums on xda
Search for you device and go to the Android Development section and see if there is a development thread for PA
Officially PA supports nexus and oppo devices and their actual download site is http://download.paranoidandroid.co
your awsem
thank you very much
In addition, all the devices you see on the official site are nexus devices, and none of them will work for your s4. The names such as hammerhead, mako, etc refer to the code name of a nexus device

Verizon S4 (jfltevzw) has a "legacy" (maintained by several in conjunction with PA team) 4.3 and 4.4 release available.
4.3:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291740
4.4 I saw before but can't seem to find it. Notta was working on it and I've suggested he work with PA Legacy team to get it included in their repos. If not I will be adding it into the others that I'm handling.
Hey all,
I am looking around this forum and I see a ton of ROMs. I am a little confused about what Unified means. Does that mean any ROM should work on any Note 3? Or do I have to make sure it says hlte somewhere in the description? (I have the Sprint variant). So many ROMs to try, just want to avoid problems. Thanks!

CyanogenMod has de-unified their builds. Branching into hlte - hltespr and hltevzw. I don't know if this is also the case with TW-based ROMS. Better read carefully the instructions or better yet just browse through Galaxy Note 3 Sprint section of xda dev. You should find everything that's compatible with your device there.

Originally CyanogenMod had seperate builds of Note 3 CM ROMs, but then they decided to merge all model specific CM's together to make "hlte". This is their so-called "unified build".
"hlte" is the Note 3, however there's no such thing as "hlte", as models are classified as "hltexx" (N9005), "hltespr" (N900V), "hltevzw" (N900S), "hltecan" (N900W8), "hltetmo" (N900T), "hlteatt" (N900A). As they all have the abbreviation "hlte", CM took those four letters out and created a build that works for all variants (if applicable on the device).
When the de-unified their builds, they created an "hlte" build but for the specific device that fits it's drivers and set up. I believe they did this in order to stabilize their builds. When they unified them all, I read somewhere that the video drivers caused issues leading to random reboots - even if this isn't so, unification and sharing of common drivers isn't always the best, you would want model specific drivers to take full advantage of your device, and to eliminate common problems that appear on different models of the device.

Only for CM and not TW.
I found it strange there is no thread for Omni in development forum? There was a thread but abandoned since there was no maintainer for the device. But since then unified builds happened, and i9505 /jfltexx has been mentioned as a device supported by the updater script:
https://github.com/omnirom/android_device_samsung_jflte/blob/android-4.4/BoardConfig.mk#L129
Is here anyone who uses the ROM as a daily driver, or anyone who has checked it in the last time, to share experience with us? I'm downloading it right now, and will try to find time tomorrow to check it.
The reason is that the thread is under 'Unified' subforum, where also other AOSP ROMs like Octo, Nameless, PA are. Strange CM isn't there too...
Q&A for [4.4.4] [CM] [09/10] UltimaMod [KTU84P] [i9505/G]
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer. Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!

Good Afternoon Guys ,
hope someone can help , Trying to install this ROM on an S4 i9505 (JFltexx i believe)
followed the instructions > Wipe Data , Cache , Davlik etc.
Aroma installer runs allows me to pick all the options i want (ive just gone with the defaults for this example)
when it gets to the end it starts the install procedure and then says Set_perm some changed failed. then reboots and then never boots.
something im doing wrong ?
Ive ended up flashing CM11 back onto it , but im having some real bad issues with call quality (mainly people cant hear me or i sound like im in a tunnel)
really want to use this ROM instead but cant get it to install.
Youtube bug !? 720 p dosen t work but 360p is working ( youtube 5.14.11 on wi fi )
Is this rom also work with galaxy s3 shv-e210s? without any prob?
Hey Kryten, since my S3 times I came through the thread to your CM based ROM. Could you provide a screen on Screenshot? General question about the camera, how is the quality compared to GPE?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Free mobile app
http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=3324#screenshots
The camera quality is the same as GPE.
CM11 M12
Just noticed its based on CM11 M11... Are you planning updating the cm source to M12 for Ultima before CM12 comes??? (or its just me again not reading and searching that M12 has lots of bugs?)
CM simply haven't updated the vendor information to include the M12 changelog. You can see here: https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_vendor_cm/blob/cm-11.0/CHANGELOG.mkdn It still uses the M11 changelog. They haven't updated it (probably really busy with CM12).
The codebase was synced and compiled about 7 days ago, so it's very fresh and newer than any M12 ROM.
I won't be releasing a CM12 ROM until there is a milestone release for it. I don't want to deal with buggy ROMs right now.
Apart from that time bug, I haven't had any problems with my ROM. I don't use my S3 at all., I run my S4 daily.
EDIT:
To be honest, I had some stuff planned for features, but I will be holding off now after reading this: http://www.landofdroid.com/2014/cm12-roadmap-leaked-exciting/ As CM won't implement any new features that are submitted. I actually managed to get my call recording codec feature in before then, but only just.
Mod Edit:
You have already raised this in Q and A. One question at a time please, in one place.
Thanks
A good rom is Lineage OS 14.1 Official for the S4. It is stable and good for daily usage.
There are pinned posts at the top of the Galaxy S4 General subforum that should be of help in actually rooting the device, though actually rooting it is not difficult. The main question I ask people lately when it comes to a ROM is whether they care about having Touchwiz features or not, as that will narrow down the available choices. From there, only by trying out the ROMs will you find one you like.
Before flashing anything, I recommend booting into download mode to confirm the model number.
Try it and find out. I don't use LineageOS so I can't tell you if it will or will not work. @audit13 no longer has his S4 if I recall so he's not going to be able to tell you, unless he used it in the past. Asking your questions on the forum is more than sufficient, though you will have to be patient when it comes to replies. PMs are dicey. I ignore tech support PMs and audit13's stance on them is unknown to me.
I no longer use an S4 but it's important to know the exact model number before flashing anything. The 9500 is very different, internally, than the 337 and 337m.
