I am currently on dbt mj3 knox 0x0 rdlv and want to up to mdj4.
How to do this without loosing root and tripping knox? (Have urdlv on my pc)
Will i keep preferences of my root apps (frozen in TB, wanam exposed preferences, greenified app)? Will the root apps stay?
Anything to do before i start the upgrade (and maybe reroot progress)?
Sorry about those many questions, but its my first proper andoid device and i dont want to mess anything up
Thanks in advance

If you update you will lose root so you will have to root again all your rooted apps settings will stay all you will need to do is update exposed framework

Not 100% on this but I believe RDLV will trip KNOX 0x1 on MJ6 or higher, so I wouldn't update if I were you.
You can try this though: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47091411&postcount=62&nocache=1&z=5607935257721692

No, you don't trip knox with MJ6/MJ7 if you use URDLV and my solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47091411&postcount=62&nocache=1&z=5607935257721692

Now no cam no wifi binary customm
What can i do to fix it? Can binary be reset? Can i create the tar.md5 (with cygwin right?) And flash it over my device to solve it? Would this wipe my phone?
EDIT: root obtained (greenify somehow seems to work without superSU) and knox 0x0, also got sys staus back to official

Don't think you can your going to have to root again
You can download the firmware from sammobile and flash it via mobile odin. You will keep root. And knox counter 0x0 as well. Forget ota.

Knox counter will stay 0x0 only with the old bootloader
And, I believe, Mobile ODIN won't flash the new bootloader so you can go back to a lower version of firmware.

Yes,but the most important is : having old bootloader before using mobile odin

Anything else than root that i will lose?
Will it be stable or not?
Can i just re root then?
It'll be stable, I had major issues on MJ6 with apps stopping working etc, obviously I couldn't OTA update and it was a major annoyance. So i plugged it into KIES and updated through there, even though it told me it may have issues or not update due to modified software.
It worked fine, and my phone is stable, battery life is good and I just used CF-Auto root to re-root it again (I too had already flagged 0x1)
you will defo notice the improvement tho.

Yup sure as sure can be, and what KB said.
If you're worried because Kies said its unstable, don't be... Samsung is covering their ar$er by putting in these disclaimers....
And the best way to root is by using Mobile ODIN Pro to flash MJ7. You will keep root and the MJ3 bootloader. Not sure if that makes a major difference but it sure helps if you have the old root friendly bootloader...
I updated and it worked! My phone is no longer draining the battery! It boots right up! Wonderful!

Just to clarify, you can unroot but you can't reset Knox warranty void to 0x0...
If you are on KK then make sure you use the LATEST cf-autoroot or you will get a soft brick... If you use ODIN 3.09 you put the cf-autoroot file in AP, if you use any lower then put the file in PDA...
Cheers don't suppose you got the fc-auto root link not sure if you can put up a link in here cheers

From what people say. There is an e-fuse for the knox switch. Once you Flash, the switch goes from 0x0 to 0x1. The e-fuse apparently cannot be reset.
But there has been instances where rooting has not toggled the knox switch
