As long as you're rooted and have busybox you can use flashify to flash zips.

An app from the play store that allows you to flash recoveries and zips instead of using TWRP or CWM.

Update guessing is the ota? You can use flashify app from play store to flash either TWRP recovery 2.6.3.2 that is a IMG. Or 2.6.3.3. That's a zip file .....

I just read in another thread that custom recoveries cannot yet be flashed on the latest OTA. You have to revert back in order to have a custom recovery. According to this thread.

Just flashed recovery img with flashify again. It says complete and gives option to flash more stuff or reboot. I choose reboot and it powers off. So I tried power button and vol down and that way also just powers off...

Custom recovery

I just rooted my Sprint S4 mk2 with saferoot and was wondering if there is any CWM or other custom recovery. I am new to the s4 but have plenty of experience with the s2. I think Knox is the issue but want to see if there is a way to flash roms and mods

Yes.

Philz CWM and TWRP seem to be the recoveries if choice here.
I came from the E4GT and couldn't use ROM manager. But here once rooted you can use it (play store) to flash the latest cwm or goomanager to flash TWRP
If you say "Please"... be sure and "Hit Thanks!!!"

So I download room manager and flash one of those recoveries and I will be able to flash roms, etc? Just want to make sure I do everything right before I do it because I can't afford a new phone.
Thank you for helping me with this. I tried to search but there is a lot of information out there and I want to be 100% before I mess with it any further.

Should be good. I'd use ROM mgr to flash cwm....then have the newest philz zip on your SD card and flash it in recovery

Probably some anti-virus software. Try disabling all just till you downloaded it and put it on your phone.
I was able to download it completely without trouble.

[Q] Flashify to flash recovery

Hello Everyone just want to ask before I go to root and install recovery Im still stock and not rooted so heres my idea to root and install custom recovery
1. Root using towelroot
2. Install recovery using Flashify
3. Install custom rom
can this method work? anyone have tried this? since I dont want to use odin because Im still noob
TIA
Towel root may not work, you may have to use Odin because Samsung patched their kernels.

Simple. If you have unlocked bootloader and TWRP installed just download SuperSU and flash it in TWRP. Done. Most stable version of SuperSU right now to flash it update 2.76.

Sorry for all the questions but it will determine also how to root. How did you get back to the stock firmware? Did you use the back2stock method or just flash the Asus firmware zip?

I used the back2stock method.
For some reason the firmware zip never works for me no matter what I do. Stock recovery or adb.
Only the back2stock works and that's what I use

I think he made the b2s method because with an unlocked bootloader flashing the stock firmware doesn't work. Anyways, try this, go to developer options and scroll down and see if there's an option for root access. If so it's probably disabled and just need to be turned on. If not then just flash SuperSU in TWRP and you're good to go.

It's ok. I was just wondering. He says he has twrp already and I just can't remember if the back2stock zip is already pre-rooted. If not he can just flash SuperSU and be done.
