I have been reading a lot about philz touch and I am currently working with twrp and I am pretty new to this whole thing so I would like to know how you uninstall twrp and install philz touch? Thank you ahead of time

The reason I'm asking is because I want to fastboot the entire 4.3 image to my tablet and start clean but I'm afraid that if the bootloaders are different I won't be able to install the custom recoveries, Philz CWM, or CWM touch for example.
Thanks in advance.

No, old one is LJ12, new one is MD03.
I use TWRP 2.5, and it works fine on the new bootloader.

I'm using phipz cwm and it works fine on new boot loader but every time a reboot room it it says ROM wants to flash stock recovery and you have to press prevent flash or no allow flash.

Thanks for the quick reply, I think I'm gonna stick with TWRP for now until CWM gets updated.

Does updating to newer version of twrp make previous back ups unusable...thanks for any comments.

Yes you will be able to use them. And download the twrp 2.5.0.2 zip and flash when you are able to get into recovery.

I keep getting an error when I try to flash this so I flashed cwm instead, can someone help me or link me to the zip for 2.6.3.2. That one flashes fine and I can't find the zip anywhere

How are you flashing this recovery? I am having the same problem.
Figured it out. Used cwm recovery and flashed the fixed version

Thanks for the tip! :good: I need your permission as your drive link must be private. Thx!
I don't know how to give permission lol. Shoot.

Vs980 twrp
Just to clarify, the fix for the broken VS980 TWRP .zip first appeared in the official cyanogenmod nightlies thread, and it was suggested that one should first achieve a working TWRP 2.6.3.2 recovery first, then use it to flash the fixed recovery .zip to update to version 2.6.3.3 (it seems to "upgrade" the previous recovery rather than flash itself in entirety.)
However this may be wrong... I personally already had TWRP 2.6.3.2 installed so I went ahead and used the fixed .zip without a hitch, but it seems like kregstrong had no issues flashing from cwm.
OK think I fixed it. Try now. Sorry. Couldn't find the original link for it

No, you can't install clockwork or twrp. The only only recovery you can install is SafeStrap.

You must be rooted, and must have unknown sources enabled.

Also you should learn to use the search function, that is what it is there for. This has been answered a million times already.
I'm still running a rooted version of MF9 4.2.2 on my S4 and have never upgraded to 4.3 so I'm still without the knox enabled bootloader. If I were to put ClockwordMod recovery and flash the newest, stable cm10.2 would it place the knox enabled bootloader on my phone?
No it wouldn't.

Thanks for the quick response. Now I know what I'm going to be doing for the remainder of my night.
A followup question if you don't mind. Would using Philz Advanced CWM over the official CWM make a difference in flashing the zip?

Philz has been more stable of all the recoveries available to us.
