Knockon Certainly does. However knockoff needs additional gestures/apps setup.

So double tap to sleep doesn't work? And how to solve this problem? You know, the back button is not so comfortable to turn on and off the phone

Is the KnockON/OFF a software or hardware feature?
If its a software issue which app uses it in the system?

No knockoff doesn't work in AOSP until you setup a couple more things such as a double tap gesture in nova to activate a screen off app.

It's software, a kernel related feature even before g2, many developers created this feature for many devices (see PGM for nexus, sweep2wake or slide2wake for almost all HTC phones..and even xperia z has it...

I think G2 knock on (only on) is 50% hardware and 50% kernel
Because, when i try knock on while i cover sensor on top with my hand, knock on doesn't work.
No problem with knock off even covered sensor with my hand.

Does that mean that the ROMs and kernels have to integrate this whether on this device or another and there is no simple port for those with just root? In other words is there an app that can control this?

[Q] LG Quickwindow tweaks/apps

Hello, I was wondering if there are some possible evolutions, of any kind that would be possible in order to do anything more with LG G2's Quickwindow.
While it seems to have produced rather mixed reviews, I like it and get feeling from the sole 3 screens available, that there could be a lot of potential to such feature, if only it were open.
Has anyone tried to add watchfaces, or to display notifications (sms/e-mail), to add features (shuffle/repeat) to the music screen, or even to create custom screens? I'd love it if this feature were to be expanded to something more than just a cool way to answer calls...

yea there's this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2622144 and you can use the same method to try and add other things but I don't think there's much more that can be done

That seems to be a decent workaround, but it looks very time-consuming; i'll probably wait for a true opening of the the quickwindow app, if it ever comes
Haha I just accidentally found a function. In quickwindow mode push and hold volume down for 3 seconds (it should open camera)

Here is a post on the LG developers forum( click Mobile Forums>General, First post), that shows the code needed to utilize the quickwindow feature. No SDK ever apparently, but this may be helpful. Also posted today is this which shows that QCircle will get an sdk, so maybe we can use that and change the sizing and shape? I am not a developer, just an interested party, so let em know if this helps or not.

[Q] is there a way to disable knock on feature in KitKat ROMs?

I keep looking for a way to disable the knock on feature with KitKat based ROMs, but haven't found a way yet. I'm running SlimKat on a LS980 right now, but none of the other ROMs have had the option to disable the knock on feature.
It is great to have until I try running with the phone or using it to do manual work while listening to music. It keeps changing songs, opening websites from Google now, rearranging my home screen apps, and sometimes managing to call people.
Does any one know a easy way (or stable ROM) to have the ability to deactivate knock on? I'd love to be able to turn it on and off easily like WiFi or Bluetooth so when I need the feature I can have it, but when I don't it isn't a pain.

you should specify you want a solution for aosp based kitkat because on stock(the lg themed one that came with the phone) you can go to settings>gestures and turn it off/if the proximity sensor is covered it doesn't allow knock on to work to prevent it from unlocking while in pockets and stuff
BUMP!
I'd like to know as well! The screen keeps coming on while in my pocket. What file/code/apk/ect is responsible for Knock-On?
I'm running AOSP C-ROM 7.1.

It is mainly kernel which is in charge of knock on so unless you know how to create kernel there isn't much you can do
Sent from my PIKACHU powered LG G2 D800
Access the hidden menu on your phone and disable knock on
EDIT: that would be for stock lg rom, but you could still try with your aosp kk rom

pixel fingerprint features

Has anyone tried the Pixel fingerprint sensor features on the a2017u?
Yup it works nicely. Using it to turn the screen off ?
Remember to disable power management policies on the app
I'm using it. Works good, I use it to pull the notifications down.
What about battery consumption ???

It has almost no impact on battery. Very well optimized app.
The newest Gravity Box update also includes fingerprint launcher functionality now for everyone who wants to have more possible options to choose from.
How does one go about installing this?

The OP in that link has a good instructional video on how to set it up and use it

Soft navigation buttons "One button Nav" in custom ROMs

I like the Moto G5p feature "One button Nav". Is this still available on custom roms ? .
Clarification of what I am referring to - it replaces the Back:Home:Menu (triangle:circle:square)soft buttons with swipe gestures on the finger print sensor.
I would like to know that too. As far as I know, it's not available in any other custom roms.
It is available on every (or almost every) custom rom.

Can confirm in nearly every ROM. Usually in the settings application under either gestures or buttons.

I have my Moto G5+ for around 3 days, today I'm getting stable with Ressurection Remix, Magisk working well, Android Pay also, and your features are there too. I just can't figure how to make 1080p 60fps recording, but everything else is flying. cheers
