Not receiving calls, can make calls - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

I just ran into problem today for 1st time where Im unable to receive calls, but Im able to dial-out. I have Google Voice with Sprint integration and number does ring from Gmail Web dialer, which I can answer/talk. Problem seems to have started after installing a TW/MJA rom which I wont mention since I dont think thats the problem. I have tried restoring a nandroid and update profile/prl but problem persists. My wife has a pure stock S4 still on MF9 and has no problems in same location. Not sure how to try reconnecting S4 to Sprint's network. Any ideas?

Ok, problem solved!! Apparently Google Voice integration was the problem. I disabled integration via Google Voice Web options and calls started to ring on phone. Now will try to re-enable GV integration.

Google Maps Affects Receiving Calls?

Has anyone else who has installed the latest version of Google Maps including the Latitude feature for seeing where your friends are had any problems with receiving calls?
I'm not 100% sure it is related but since installing it I have had loads of calls going straight to voicemail with my phone not ringing, sometimes I immediately got the text saying that someone had called but not left a message. It was usually fixed by me rebooting the phone, or making an outgoing call, but after a few hours it seemed to break again.
I have now uninstalled Google Maps and so far the problem has not reoccurred so I'm interested to see if anyone else has noticed this?
Not seen this at all and had Latitude installed since it was announced.
Hard to see why g maps could be causing the problem as it uses the gprs channels.
I suspect the problem might be you are running too many apps at once and then with g maps the memory usage is too much ?
if you are using GM on EDGE or 2G, and you have it running, you cannot have voice and data at the same tine coming through.
this is why 3G came by to allow data and voice simultaneously. no way you can have both on a 2G Network. And since GM will ALWAYS keep your Internet connection alive and transfer data, guess what? ur calls go to VM all the time

[Q] Google voice problems

I just flashed ICS to my daughters phone and now am unable to get google voice to work. Reflashed Cyanogen, that my son uses on his and still the same problem, not able to verify the phone. Neither phone has its own number, meaning they do not have cell service, but are strictly used only when connected to wifi. I cant figure out what I am doing wrong, and there is no help line for google voice that i can find. The phone will call out, but is just static on the other end and no voice can be heard. From the phone number that was called that voice can be heard on her phone. I use google voice in conjunction with groove ip. Any suggestions?
a friend experimented the same problems when he tests ICS, any suggestions will be good

[Q] Nexus 4 Cannot SMS

Here is the log of my chat with an AT&T rep:
http://pastebin.com/QU2BU09L
My wife gets texts from co-workers/friends which are mostly not on att, but cannot send to my line or my mom's line (she's on the same account too)
I should mention, this phone worked perfectly well until a recent Google Play services update which affected some devices by disabiling audio on incoming/outgoing calls. The solution that I found to work for this Nexus 4 was to disable the "Checkinservice" service from the Play framework which seems to have correct the call audio issue - so then I thought maybe its now affecting texts and re-enabled the service, no luck on texts but it's also not affecting calls anymore with the service on.
I have googled around a lot, but most similar issues involved people not being able to text at all.
Also, I should perhaps note that I have wiped all the partitions and re-installed CyanogenMod from scratch twice now and still the same thing. It's been on CM for a good year + with no issues at all until recently. Besides the chat with at&t I called as well, the person on the phone seemed even less knowledgeable than the online gal.

Cannot receive calls while on 4G after Lollipop V30B update

Hi,
I have this strange problem with my LG G2: when on default mobile network settings, I cannot receive calls and SMS messages. I can however make calls and send SMS messages. I have to force phone to only select 2G/3G in order to be able to receive calls and texts.
This happened after I upgraded to Lollipop, it happened for a while in V30A and now it happens all the time after upgrading to V30B. Phone is stock, never rooted. I have the International Unlocked version and I am using Orange as my mobile operator (in Europe).
Any idea ? Thanks !
I have a problem that is somewhat similar.
I have data on, and I will lose connection eventhough I have signal and data icon on.
Some applications will work such as Twitter and Facebook Messenger but the rest won't be able to accesss the Internet such as Facebook, Google Chrome, PlayStore, Google+, Youtube, etc.
I have a D802 unlocked version and I have flashed v30b two days ago. I can't remember if I had that problem on v30a.
The only way to make it work again is to disable and reenable the data. What do you guys think? I looks like a DNS problem but I'm not sure.

Google Voice not working

I'm not sure what is happening here but i can't get my phone to place calls via Google Voice. Anyone else use Google Voice on their stock G6 successfully? If I dial a number the stock phone dialer calls the GV relay number but I never hear it ring on my end. If they answer I can't hear them either.
I'm on software version h87211g on T-Mobile. Completely stock phome. Did the BOGO deal and the problem happens on both of these phones.
I've been using GV for years and never experienced this. It works as it should on any other phone I test it on. LG Stylo 3, Galaxy S9, S9+ Note5, erc...
I can factory reset this phone, install Google Voice and no bueno. Can't make calls with GV.
Just tried again. Reset and wiped the phone to factory stock and did default setup. I let Google and LG do whatever updates it needed to do. Everything works perfectly. I went to the play store and downloaded Google Voice and setup normally and have it set to use my GV number to make all calls as I always have. Try to make a call and it never rings. The receiving line will ring but when they answer no audio is passed through.
I just grabbed my old Note 5, reset it back to stock and did the same process. Installed Google Voice and it works perfectly. Also grabbed an old LG F3 I had in a drawer and it worked on it also. Seems to be some combo issue with this dialer, maybe VOLTE and who knows what. It doesn't seem to make a difference if I have VOLTE on or off or if WiFi is on or off. It just doesn't work for me on this phone.

That is very odd. I also have the h87211g and Google voice works flawlessly. Can you try calling once from the dialer within the Google Voice app and see if that works?

Didn't work. It brings up the stock dialer, calls the relay number then no audio. Person called does receive the call but they can't hear anything and it never tells me the call connected on my end.
I found an older version of GV from January and get the same issue. Just installed Hangouts and the Hangouts dialer and it will make calls fine.
I can receive calls fine on GV also. Just cant make them. Two brand new and identical G6 doing this.
I'm going to stop by the TMO store and get a new SIM just to try anything at this point.
I had to use hangouts dialer

Yes it's working. I could always send texts but to be able to make calls I had to download the Google Hangouts dialer.
Finally got it to work. Ended up giving the G6 to my wife who doesn't use Google Voice and took her S9 which she complained would drop calls
Now both our problems are solved. I have a properly working Goole Voice and she says the call quality is better. Bigger battery is a plus for her too. Not sure how but she can put in a good four or five hours talking to ONE person.

Sounds like you didn't actually get it to work, you just worked around the problem
I'm on AT&T and GV calling works fine for me. So I can't provide any direct data here and I don't have any need for a solution. But I would still prefer to see an explanation for why this wasn't working (and preferably a fix) since it could help others who are affected.
What I would have suggested is: manually call into your own GV number and hit the button when it answers (* or #, I forget which) that lets you get in and listen to messages and make calls. Try dialing out from that menu and see how it works. Also, you didn't mention whether you had the same problem regardless of who you called, or whether you were able to test from different locations (and thus using a different cell tower).
It seems most likely that there is some issue with the G6's implementation of VoLTE (and possibly only in your area). The only place I know I have made GV calls, I often won't have an LTE signal so I can't confirm whether it works over AT&T's VoLTE, but it would be even more interesting if it did not.

I'd love to get to the bottom of it. I'll test it again when and if another system update comes out for this thing. I've added a few more things I've done to see if I could figure it out. The only thing I haven't done is try a SIM for a different carrier such as ATT or Cricket. The results of any test were the same. Outbound calling through Google Voice would never ring on my end and I could never hear anything. Two different G6 phones, brand new, stock, etc...
I tested on Wifi, regular LTE, VOLTE on or off. Same results. The other party may or may not be able to hear me or it may or may not even ring on their end. No particular setting with regard to being on wifi, LTE, VOLTE on or off made any consistent difference. Inbound calling always worked fine.
I also downloaded and installed a modified Pixel phone dialer to replace the LG version. I was hoping it was some bug in their dialer doing this. The dialer worked on my Note5 and S9 and worked on the G6 when installed also. Once setup and working I put Google Voice back on and tried to make a call. Same issue. It will not ring on outbound and if someone did answer, I couldn't hear them.
