Where do I find information on the Sprint variant of this phone? Rooting instructions? Roms and development? Seems we have been forgotten, from the looks of things I will have to return this phone and go back to Samsung.

You do realize that the Sprint G2 isn't even out yet officially, right? It comes out tomorrow. Chill man, take five, and have a KitKat or something.

sorry...I had to
Ok.....Sprint G2 has been out for a day. Where's the Sprint G2 section?

Sprint subforum has been created. We have root and recovery instructions over in the subforum below. CM 10.2 is in the works for the Sprint version.

Can i flash d802 firmware to sprint(ls980) lg g2?

My friend bought a SG2 from a 3rd party sprint store that installed 2.3.4 rooted on it for him. Being that it was laggy and otherwise not working as well as he would want he decided to install the stock rom. When he did this using the proper software he is getting a boot loop.
What should I do? We have tried wiping the data but it doesn't work, the home button is unresponsive and yields no results.

To start with if it's a sprint model device you're in the wrong forum.

The sprint phone is a SPH-D710. Look for that section.
Does anyone know where I could get the code to unlock my phone? Most unlocking website seem to only support D800 and D802. Thanks!

www.cellunlocker.net Got my Bell G2 done in about 5 minutes. They give you several numbers, but the NCK one worked for me.

Have not tried anything yet. I saw someone had a failed attempt to root on a Rogers version so I was waiting for someone else to take the plunge first.

Did you try thecubed updated root? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45692679#post45692679
It never hurts to try; root can't really screw up your phone lol.
EDIT: On a completely unrelated note, what about unlocking? is your G2 on contract with Bell?

No, I bought my G2 off Craigslist, BNIB, off contract, but sim unlocked it through cellunlocker.net.
Out of curiosity, how much does cellunlocker charge to unlock the G2?

8 bucks.
Used link from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45859475&postcount=1
Worked for me on D803 Rogers with total cost CAD1.71
I used cellunlockerpro and cost me $ 1.50 and took 5 mins. You buy credits with this site and I had some already.

Hey all been out of the loop for a little bit and I have a question. With the phone being as locked down as it is I was thinking of getting the Verizon GS5 Dev-Edition. Can I use ROMs and/or Kernels that are in the main GS5 forum?
Thanks for the advice/help in advanced!

If it's the Dev Edition and once rooted, I would think so. I could be wrong.

Appreciate the quick reply! I'd imagine Kernals might be hit or miss but ROMs would be ok but I could be wrong on both accounts and I just wanted to make sure before I bought it.

Either way, the Dev edition is the way to go. There is a custom build in 'Original Android Dev' for the VZW S5 down a couple subforums that is confirmed stable.

Yea I saw the Kernel but there aren't any ROM's in the Verizon forum, the main GS5 forum is hoping though so I wanted to make sure I can actually do what I intend with the device given the money. Especially since I know the Dev-Edition will never get official updates from samsung.

I'm curious myself. I just purchased an M8 but if we can flash ROMs from T-Mobile/AT&T/Int'l/Etc onto the rooted/unlocked S5 DE I'd probably buy that instead.

From what I'm reading it should be ok as long as we use a Verizon kernel because the Intl version seems to also have the Snapdragon 801.
Waiting for someone with experience to confirm though.
Anybody?
Galaxy S6 stock roms are available for download from Sammobile website. It will be available on Samsung-Updates shortly!
So... what does this mean? Can I buy an AT&T S6 and immediately flash it to stock? Will that screw up payments?

-laughs- pkulak do not get frustrated with people who write things like that.. Any stock rom that is posted will be modified to clear out bloat and crap most people don't want.. Those people who want a vanilla/stock rom will wait for it to be deodexed etc..
The Samsung Pay is not even released yet.. don't worry about that.. once your root/custom recovery your phone.. it may not even work.. depends..
Watch and see first.
can the LG G6 be rooted and if it can how?
Yes and no. Try looking around this forum at least a LITTLE before you ask for help. There are plenty of guides.

It means some can and some can't. Go read the guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g6/how-to/official-lg-g6-bootloader-unlock-t3614719
This tells you everything you need to know. If you still can't figure it out after that, you're probably better off not rooting.
LG G6 variants H870+US997 can have bootloader unlocked and be rooted with general ease.

Not completely correct. It depends where your US997 comes from. US Cellular US997 devices can't currently be unlocked.
