Hi all, I have now rooted my phone and also installed the clockwork mod with rom manager. Now all I need is, how to install this cyanogenmod I just downloaded from here http://get.cm/?device=d802&type=
PS. I have international version
Hi,
Hum... Copy the .zip to your internal storage, reboot in recovery, make a backup first, do a wipe/factory reset in recovery then flash.
You also need the Google Apps.
All you need is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2495859, read carrefully before doing anything.
Yes. Very important to backup first or you could be screwed if so something goes wrong.
Also download GAPPS (Google Apps).
Boot into recovery, and do this in this order.
Backup
Flash from SD > CyanogenMod
Back > Factory Reset
Flash from SD > CyanogenMod
Flash GAPPS
Reboot. Pray. First time is exciting.

Hi,
Can't you read the link I posted... . There is a link for the Gapps and how to flash the rom...
You plug your phone to your PC via USB cable and put the rom+Gapps in the root of your stockage or create a folder named Cyanogen for example, it's like you want then in recovery navigate where you put your rom+Gapps.
But you really need to read before doing something I think, to avoid something that could go wrong...

But my problem is where to put the cyanogenmod and this gapps. This post says "- Copy GApps and CM10.2 ZIPs to your SDCard" but the cyangen wiki http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_d802 says "Place the CyanogenMod rom .zip file on the root of the SD card using adb" and I dont know how to do that.

If you read carrefully here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2495859, no.
But read, read and read before flashing something... And make a backup in recovery because it seems you don't feel comfortable with this stuff...

Re,
Even with just root you loose the guaranty:
LG's phones come with some software loaded that detects the presence of root on a phone, and invalidates your warranty.
Rooting the phone, by nature, voids your warranty.

Yes, because in download mode there is always a red "ROOTED" and for now you can't remove it...
That being said I don't know if the LG's tech supports (or LG's repair center, or... no matter how it is called in case of guaranty) really takes a look at this... but in any case it's here... Even if you return to stock LG firmware... So your warranty is now void .

Yes, but you'd have had enabled back up to your Google account before you rooted and have to enable it on the rooted phone again, then the market will try to restore all apps.
If you didn't you got to do it manually (recommend doing it via webside market for easier accessing old apps), then get Titanium Backup and save all your apps.

No. Redownload them and back it up using a backup apply. I'd recommend tianjin backup pro. It costs $6 but its worth it. It backs up ur apps/games and data along with it.
Every rom flash involving a factory reset will wipe your apps. With titanium backup pro, you can one click restore everything

Ok,
Final question is that how do i go about installing the rom? I downloaded it and transferred it to the memory card.
I go into fastboot and into recovery.

1. Download the ROM
2. mount the phone's USB
3. put it on the root of the /sdcard/ while mounted
4. unmount
5. go into recovery
6. wipe factory settings, data cache, dalvk cache (advanced)
P.S. i'd recommend getting clockwork 4.0.0.2 from the dev forums, its a lot better. better organization on wipes
7. flash the ROM (if you're flashing CM7, you have to flash Gapps afterwards) [flash zip from sdcard]
this flash applies to any flashable zips including kernels/roms/radios... DO NOT FLASH BOOT ANIMATIONS. you put them in /system/media/ if you choose to do so
8. reboot
how do u install teh clockwork 4.0.0.2?

Hi all!!
I have a huge problem i think.
Yesterday is was rooting my device, and i was about to start flashing a custom rom.
What happened is that in the proces of wiping dalvik cache etc. I by accident wiped the whole system!
So now if i want to reboot, recovery gives the error that there is no OS is installed. If i reboot my nexus 7 keeps hanging in the startup screen wich only displays Google...
It still can reboot in recovery or bootloader, but i cant figure out how to recover. I tried with 2 toolkits, but no succes! I made a nandroid backup but this doesnt work either.
Also i tried several solutions but none of them helped.
Does someone know how i can get my N7 to work again?? :crying:
Wugfresh's toolkit allows you to flash the stock image from the bootloader. Just make sure you check the box that states you cantvpower the device up.
Mskips toolkit, chose the option to flash Google image, it will download, and flash for you, if not your doing it wrong, push comes to shove your going o have to download a custom ROM and use adb to to push it on to your nexus 7 then fire up cwm and lash the rom, your nandroid will be gone unless you took it off/copied to a PC before you messed up.

Yeah, try it, make sure you state you cant boot it, and tell us what parts it stops/fails at
SMH dont use toolkits -_- so you're saying you "could" get into recovery? Why didnt you just adb push a rom
Code:
adb push name-of-rom.zip /data/media
Then flash that rom?

pretty simple. if you know how to use adb then you just need to just a ROM to apply. wether it be the stock or a custom. once you know what ROM, the easiest thing is to paste it into your adb folder (usually platform-tools) and just push it onto your sd card

I'm trying to flash to a stock rom at the moment with the wugfresh toolkit. it seems the process is stuck at the point where it is "sending 'system' to the device. it's "sending 'system'" for more than an hour now... is that ok?? or is there something going wrong?
the picture show's where it gets stucked
Fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-grouper3.34.img
Fastboot flash all nakasijroo3d.IMG w/e its called
Do you have cwm or twrp installed? If so you can mount the 7 like a mass storage device to your computer. This will give you access to the SD card where you can transfer a ROM from your computer to your tablet....I'm not sued where the setting is.....just go into your recovery and dig around....I think its under advanced...

I'm in recovery, I wiped it all (unfortunately even the ROM as zip I put on it) and now I don't have no ROM on it and no zip to flash a ROM.
Thought this was no problem, knowing from smartphone recoveries to mount sdcard and copying the file on it. But Nexus 7, well, has no sdcard.
What can I do?
As it is now, I don't have nothing on it and rebooting it wouldn't lead to anything useful.

If you have Android SDK installed, you can use adb push to push the zip file to your internal storage. Put the ROM zip file in your Android SDK - Platform Tools folder on your computer, reboot the N7 into Recovery (connected to computer of course!), open Command Prompt window and change directories to where ever you keep your Android SDK (for me, it's: cd sdk/platform-tools). Then type:
Code:
adb push <name of ROM zip file> /sdcard
Wait, and after about 20 - 60 seconds it'll complete, then you can flash the ROM. It'll be on the root of your internal sdcard (/sdcard).
Sounds difficult for a bloody rookie like me - is there really no easier way? Like transfering via recovery by just telling recovery to mound internal-sd so that it'll pop up on my pc? (know that from CWM and 4Ext on my smartphone)
Or could you explain the steps so that even the bloodiest rookie of them all could understand it properly :-/

Yeah that would work, as long as you don't re-lock via fastboot. That's what probably wiped out your sdcard, was the fastboot unlock of your device, as it wipes your sdcard.

Toolkits are probably the easiest way - and it was pretty easy - who could expect me to wipe the zip, I just moved to the storage before flashing it?...

It will remain unlocked until/unless you run the fastboot command: fastboot oem lock
If you don't run this, it will remain unlocked.
Whoaaaa I could scream!
Now that I downloaded the right one and try to flash it through the toolkit, it tells me, that there's no adb to be found. He doesn't recognize the device in bootloader.
What should I do?
OH THANK GOD! Tried it via recovery, he found it and restarted into bootloader
First of all: thank you so much guys - I was really shocked, but it all worked out
One more question before I make the same mistake again. Where should I put the zip which I wanna flash? When I have it connected to the pc, it shows me a portable device where the folders of the internal storage are (like Alarms, Android, DCIM, Download etc pp) - that's where I put the ZIP before.
Shall I keep it there?
And another question: what should I wipe in order to get it done properly?
Edit: Figured it out - got me CWM, much more familiar with that one
but thanks again for all your help guys
