4.3 and Blocking Issue with headphone - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed the new stock firmware (UEMJ7) via OTA and from the previous stock firmware.
After the first launch I have a blocking issue: headphone icon is shown in the notification bar and there is no way to switch off the headphone status (that also means that without the headphone plugged in I cannot listen anything ...).
I have already tried with Full Reset, Hardware Reset, etc, without any results.
The issue also appears with other custom 4.3 Rom, for example with Phoenix 5.0.
The only way to solve the issue is to use other ROMs (i.e.: CM, MIUI, GE, etc...).
How can I solve this issue?
Thanks.

No sound, and other issues.

After flashing a few roms I have noticed sound has stopped working, at first youtube videos wouldn't load up or start to play and on first device boot all gapps installed would be in notification bar with an error installing. This is on both cm 10.2 and even the original stock 4.3 touchwiz rom, have I broken my device for good?I never had this issue before when I went back to touchwiz, I have the android 4.3 with knox installed currently....Thanks
Similar Problem!
Hi, I'm having similar problems I have no sound at all coming from the device, I've read every thread that seas sound on the heading for I9505 and for many people flashing I9505XXUDMH8_I9505OXXDMHA_I9505XXUDMH8_HOME.tar resolved the problem but not in my case.
Last night I tried flashing I9505XXUEMI8_I9505OXAEMI8_I9505XXUEMI8 and after I changed the kernel I got some sound when turning the volume up and down but the phone was running very slow.
Today I tried flashing Omega rom v15 flashing the right modem for the new bootloader before flashing the zip and no sound, I tried changing the kernel, still nothing.
So now I'm in build number XXUEMJ9 and baseband MJ5.
There has to be a solution for this as it is a software issue!!
PD: I can't get any signal either, WiFi is working though.

[Q] No notifications since 4.4 upgrade

Hello guys, after an upgrade from Purity 4.3 to stock 4.4 (by flashing the factory image) it seems that I've lost all my notifications. Even when I hit the notification button, nothing appears. I can hear notifications, but I don't know where're they coming from, kinda disturbing :/. The menu button on the navbar doesn't work either, both were used to work flawlessly on my N4. Any ways of solving that ? Maybe flash a custom ROM and/or kernel again ?

[Q] i9505, no sound, DSP Manager crashing

Hi
My device baseband is I9505XXUEMK9, Android version 4.3.1, and on a custom ROM (Slimbean).
The issue began when I attempted to flash a 4.4.2 (official) stock ROM from another country, which I now acknowledge as a MAJOR mistake. It was unsuccessful and led to my phone being soft-bricked. However, I had backed up my device prior to flashing 4.4.2 so that ensured its functionality.
After restoring my phone using the backup, the phone completely lost sound output. Whenever I tried to play music, the message "Unfortunately, DSP Manager has stopped" pops up. Video and audio cannot be played at all so apps like YouTube, alarm clocks, PVStar, and video-sharing websites would either crash or provide no video/audio output.
I can make calls but they result in a laggy black screen and there is no sound. I can only receive messages that calls have been missed.
I have tried flashing official stock ROM (I9505XXUEMK9) various times but they all resulted in failure. I have also flashed the modem for my device (XXUEMK9). I have tried out different custom ROM's but the problem persists.
Is this situation salvageable? I am willing to school myself on bootloaders and the such to solve this issue.
Help is much appreciated.

I would do a full wipe from Philz Touch CWM. Clean to install new ROM, and after that recover Your backup.
If it wont work, dirty reflash your Slimbean.
If it wont work, backup Your sdcard, install stock recovery or prerooted stock rom and wipe Your phone from there. If Odin wont work, try Mobile Odin.
Thank you for the response.
I have tried the first and second methods, yet the issues remain.
I am going to try the third one though it would be using a prerooted stock ROM of another variant as there are no XXUEMK9 prerooted stock ROM's.
EDIT: Third method didn't work for me either. It yields the same result as flashing the official stock ROM's.

NF910F Random reboots/power failure

Good evening, just a quick ( I hope) question
Recently came from stock rooted 5.1.1 to a 6 rom.
Ever since then my phone lags then shuts down, sometimes reboots sometimes not. I put this down to the rom. However it does it on every single one I have tried. It is also doing it on stock firmware flashed via odin and rooted via cf auto root, any ideas? Hardware issue? faulty bl? Currently on the unofficial cm12 (5.1.1) but still having the same issue though not as badly. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, youtube is how shall I say, funky. Some videos play fine, others say network error. This is on both wifi and 4g. Again, only recently is it doing this which makes me think software rather than hardware issues

[HELP] Samsung S5 [SM-G900M] Sound issues after latest Marshamallow 6.0.1 update

Hi!
After the latest Marshmallow Update 6.0.1 I'm facing some sound related problems. My phone doesn't recognize the headphone/earphones when connected.
During calls, when I plug the conector, the icon of headphone doesn't appear in the upper side and the sound still being release from speakers.
After some google research, several users of several phone brands reported the same issue. I installed SoundAbout app to test and worked fine, except for the calls.
I'm using official stock ROM and tried to several reboots, wipe cache, factory reset and nothing happened.
Could someone please help me?
Thanks and regards!
And the saga continues...
UPDATE:
- Rolled back to firmware 5.0 and the issue continues.
- Forced new update through OTA, issue still happening.
I have a guess that this new firmware update changed the headphone/earphone hardware driver, so even with several actions the problem wasn't fixed.

Thanks for the reply!
I've already done it.
Factory reset; wipe data; wipe cache partition.
I don't know what else I can do...
Any news?
Hey guys... Any news?
Even in safe mode, Android doesnt recognize the earphone/headphone connected...
I downgraded version, updated through OTA... updated all security patches and nothing...
Your hardware is probably broken, you should try replacing connector in the phone,
I've had similar issues. headphones work but the wired remote controls don't and the sound is like its under water. Music is all messed up like it's being really heavily processed. through the speaker it's fine. Calls and music are all the same through headphones. Tried different headphones!
Stock Marshmallow firmware, tried re-flash and factory default.

I tested with different earphones/headphones... and the same problem happened. At first, I thought it could be an hardware problem... but with SoundAbout I could use the phones to listen music... now the problem is only with the mic.
Change the audio connector is not an option, since its too risky opening the board and it will make me lose the "water protection" not talking about the costs...
I'm still thinking it's a software problem, Today I'll try to perform a clean re-flash the marshmallow firmware factory dfault and see what happens...
