Hi guys, I know this is a little more about my computer but I don't really know where I should post this so pardon me ><. I recently changed my computer and its running win8 now. I plug in my phone and kies can't recognise it. Any suggestions ppl??
I run Windows 8.1 and the news version of kies. No problem here I would try uninstalling kies and download the newest version and reinstall it again. Remember to uninstall the Samsung USB drivers also before reinstalling.

It can be something else too.If you use windows 8.1 N edition you need to know that this specific version of windows lack media drivers like MTP etc.It really easy to solve this.just do a really quick search in google and you will find the official packages from microsoft to solve this problem.

hey guys ive tried reinstalling both kies and the drivers. after i download the drivers, i ran it and it says that it cant be installed :/
sounds like a broken download...
Download this m8 i think it will solve your problem.It worked for me though

well the update isnt applicable for me sadly :crying: but thanks for the help nonetheless guys. somehow my computer is able to recognise my device but the connection keeps on dying mid-transfering of files. what a headache @@

After updating my SGS2 to ICS I spend hours for searching USB-drivers-only-package for ICS.
I hate software-overhead like Kies. So I extracted the USB-Driver-Package.

Don't know but these drivers should work on x64 too.
I only found one version of Kies. No special x64 build.

Its beta and no drivers built for it .
These are not ICS drivers just standard USB drivers for all versions .

Thats right. The package contains the Samsung Drivera for all mobile phones. But older versions didnt work with ICS.

No. I had to install the new one. The older version I had was something with 1.3.x... i'm not sure if this is absolutely correct.

ok it downloaded the samsung drivers from internet win8 ftw
Any mirrors available? this is the most frustrating site ever to get a download if you dont have premium account and are forced on IE You get the popup saying allow the download, select it, and then every attemtp to download after that says you're at your limit! Want to get USB on my work PC, IE only, and can't install Kies lol

Sir, you posted in the wrong device forum, but a fix would be uninstall any drivers on the or for the device reinstall, also download an updated or fresh set of drivers.

First time Kies need internet to install..
And many times internet is not available. Also size of kies is very large.....
But if we want to flash stock rom via odin, their is no need to install whole kies....
Just we require kies to install usb drives for detecting our phone to odin...
In the post i m giving you only samsung usb driver application....
Which is just 14 MB application...and which doesnt require internet towork just install it.......
It works on windows xp, windows 7, windows 8, windows vista......
Just install the drivers (installation takes about 5 minutes)....
Connect your phone to pc....
And your phone will detected by odin...
S5360 odin is also given in the post which works only for galaxy y gt-s5360......

had to flash 2013 stock ROM but only had a Linux-64 around.
flashing went OK with that driver.
tho I had to power-cycle SGY 2 times while plugged in via USB, else no flash driver install for ODIN poss.
the latest "Win8/winXP" driver does not install in winXP
my friend has bricked his phone, and i tried to recover it but it isn't detected on odin or on my pc

But still,, the option to choose that 'USB Composite Device' is nowhere can be found..

I have always had issues with the drivers as well so I moved onto Wireless WiFi connections. Below is an app that will allow you to do this.

How you did it..please tell me i have same problem
Well I am trying to install XP on the shift for a friend. Unfortunately all links and torrents with the XP drivers are dead.
I searched so long and found "Most" of them. However, loads of stuff still isn't working, namely SD, WLAN, Bluetooth, buttons and so on.
So if anyone has the driver package - or even that "Windows post install" (WPI) package i would be very grateful. Many thanks in advance.
