RandomROM Needs YOU!
Hello friends, as you know I am the founder of RandomROM. This thread was opened in order to
provide support and answers to requests. So you just need to park your posterior in front of the
screen and reply to this thread for any features you want. As you know some people are experiencing
problems with RandomROM so please, if necessary, provide a LogCat file so we can identify your problem.
ALSO! If you have another HTC phone that you would like to have
RandomROM or a stock port of it, please mention in this thread.
I wish to compete with these other ROMs that have gained more popularity (so far ) such as Sabsa Prime,
ViperDHD, SVHD, TrickDroid etc. etc. Our target is to get RandomROM more known across XDA.

A 4.1+ update would be great but I understand jb sense kernels are still a wip? One thing I have noticed is that I could not flash twrp via goo manager, it just said no recovery found for this device or something to that effect so perhaps something to do with device branding? It is a little laggy compared to svhd but I guess that's cause of full sense? Otherwise one of the best ROMs I've used on this device. Always seem to have random problems with jb ROMs. Thanks for all your hard work :thumbup:

The "lag" is fixed 100% in 1.4.5, but u need to wipe data+system. Also goo.im twrp dunno about that, just download it from their site and fastboot flash it. Anyway try 1.4.5 in the OP
it could be greate if you themed all the icons to sense5 and the status bar to Random theme
maybe you can reduce the size on the ROM memory
its only 10Mb..it could cause some lag after a while

Yep, that's included in OTA 1.6.1, It's just gonna delete all useless apps in /system/app that can be found on the PlayStore, but don't worry! Cos I thought ahead, I'll just shove all the deleted apps in /data/app/ so they can be kept/deleted. Just waiting for my Desire HD back.

Something I miss in this Rom is a "CM statusbar brightness mod" like it is integrated in CM10.1 or I have seen it in Viper DHD. Only make a fingerslide on top bar and the brightness goes up or down.
This is great, when you quickly wanna swich the brightness. Maybe you can integrate such a feature.
The other thing I search is a very good batterie life cause I am ofter out in the wild with Geocaching and work with always GPS and mostly Display on.
Right now with another Rom (ARHD9) after 3 to 4 hours my battery is empty, mostly before this.
This are a view things I want for a ROM for me.
I will install Custom Rom in a view days, when I have more time to test, but this are wishes from me.

I'm no big fan of HTC, but I'd say Sense since it would be a nice change that I didn't see on my phone before. But well, since sources for Sense are not available, this won't happen in the next time.
To be honest, I can't think of a mod we didn't already see. CM6/7 and MIUI are already ported, you brought us Touchwiz and Dellstage.
You could try porting Arc UI since there's no near-to-complete build atm.

Buddy porting ain't that easy...
The gpu and the CPU of the two cell phones should be the same so no Droid x ....
The arc UI and bravia engine is already present in tripnarc so no....
Sense maybe after the sdk is released so any more suggestions or are all people happy and content ?? Genuinely

How did they port Sense to Nexus One then? Never heard of it before. Shouldn't it really be possible to port Sense from Nexus One? I guess many of our ports started from Nexus One ROMs, right?

The HTC desire is exactly like the nexus one so it wasn't a big deal and u even have many devs....
Moreover porting a custom UI is not abt the bin , lib , etc but u have to change the change Apk and framework as they are not framework independent

i have 3 roms installed at same time -miui,cyanogen,rcmix and i witch sometimes, but i always get back to sense.. it gives android so much more functions and personality.. just the way i want it =)
I only rooted a few days back so i'm still getting up to speed but do you mind pointing me in the direction of a tut about running multiple roms. Much appreciated

Don't know about you guys but I'm tired of sense. After not using it the only thing I miss is beats and the camera app.
Uses so much battery to produce a wishy washy oh look at me effects, are they really needed?.... No. Cyanogenmod ftw!

I dont really agree with you..
I was using Virtuous ROM. It was pretty cool, but when i flash a new virtuous rom without wiping, my DHD sometimes restarts. So i don't know if it was because od no wipe, or in the rom, i flashed runny 1.4, and i am happy with it.
I love Sense, hate iPhone, so i hate something like MIUI or whatever
It only takes a few more minutes to wipe and it's gonna lessen your chances of problems so i'm not sure why you don't. I'm sure you needed to wipe when you flashed runny too so I guess that was what the problem was. Anyway I hear nothing but good things about it so all the best

I am pretty satisfied with 2.5-3days battery life..i bet you dont have it much better or what? You see, i dont have to choose between features, performance, Visuals and batterylife..i get it all =)

Thats the cool thing about android you have the choices!
I'm currently on MIUI and really love the theming possibilities (want another launcher effect? just hit 2 buttons and switch from 2d iphone style to 3d sense 3 style ), the fully working bluetooth drivers and the music app is just perfect. And it was worth it just for putting on the iphone4 theme and showing it to my applefanboy buddy. muhaha the look on his face - prizeless.
But i'm missing some sense stuff as well. Especially the camera and the mail/weather app. You have to make compromises or look for replacements with some apps. I think ill stick with MIUI until HTC releases an official Sense 3.x version for our DHD

There is no way your are getting 3 days battery life with moderate to high usage. It's a fact sense is a battery hog there is no denying it.

jup MIUI was one of the fastest ROMs ever. but i hate iOS and MIUI uses a sort of iOS's interface
MIUI can easily be customised so that it looks nothing like iOS. People who claim it's like iOS have not used MIUI much because if you run MIUI for about a week, it becomes pretty obvious that it's an Android OS at heart.
I think MIUI looks amazing, the only thing keeping me away from it is the fact that it doesn't have a app drawer :S

Or maybe you could have tried it instead of judging it without knowing more than a screenshot of the default UI.
MIUI is the easiest ROM to customize cause it has excellent theming functions. If you want a ROM with an UI you can totally change every week if it pleases you without installing any apps then MIUI is for you.
I think miui will be the future of our devices...

for our the htc desire z i personally think its the best rom its quick n smooth i have not seen any other rom which even compares to this... if i am wrong please tell me which other rom you would recommend

haha ive had MIUI for 4 days, but cant live without a app drawer. No im not gonna use another lauchner, they are all slow and laggy for me, i mean slower then the default laucher
I had been trying MIUI and thought it was great but it constantly crashed out on the lock screen when playing music. Had to remove the battery to make the phone responsive again. If that got sorted then it would be great. Back to Andromadus for me.

i am on PARANOIDANDROID ACE Rom and guess what the camcorder is working good
in 480P resolution .. give it a try really good
it's better than videocam illusion

I tried the ROM a few days back and in video mode it just beeped when I pressed the red recording circle and nothing happened.
Edit: I didn't change it to 480p. I'll have to try again.

yes if you are on 720P but try the 480P .. it will work

can this work for Sense Rom too? some people like me do not use any Rom for HTC mobiles than the Sense Rom's cuz Sense is the recognition of HTC. if not we can buy any other android mobile.

there will not be camera or video capabilities until HTC decides to release the desire hd 3.0 kernel. So that means no sense roms for dhd will have camera until then.
come on HTC.......give us this f......g kernel 3.0......

It's based off of Existz AOSPX. And it is possible if someone is willing to try it.

As far as I know they are building their ROMs the same way or LC is implementING changes in his Rom. But as stated before... its very strange that camera works on this ROM....

The 'stock ICS theme' is what I'm most excited about. I love samsung but they made it look way too much like ginger

Good to hear and looking forward to it. As for features, I'd say try not to break the good native apps and features like the music player, the video player, the nice exchange active-sync support, eye tracking to stay awake, flac playback... etc....

There's no such thing as a "RUU" for any Galaxy devices.
It's called a Stock Odin Image that you flash via Odin.

Look up what a RUU means, its means Rom update utility (something like that), every device has it, just named diffrent its the same thing.........

Odin is the RUU for Samsung.

How about making doing something with all the extra ram we have... I have no idea what but I am sure it could be put to good use.

the amaze community got played by htc. almost a year and still without a full kernel source, so some of us are a little disenchanted with htc right now. i personally started with an s2, so needless to say ive been waiting for the s3 for a while now
