download another messaging app. I use textra and group mms works great on it. doesn't work with the stock messaging app on att.
Download textra SMS and turn notifications off in the stock app. Textra is minimal and works flawlessly for group.

chomp SMS, textra SMS, or SMS8
all good texting apps. each has it's own quirks though.

chomp SMS, textra SMS, or SMS8
all good texting apps. each has it's own quirks though. right now I use chompsms because I HATE what sms8 does with multiple picture mms message

I'm currently in a group message with two people, and while I am able to see both replies, the names aren't differentiated between causing it to seem as if one person is sending all of the messages. Anyone else having this issue? I'm currently using Textra and will go back to the stock messaging app to see if that fixes it.
Or try hangouts as default sms

I use Hangouts with group MMS enabled and it works fine.

Hangouts and stock messaging don't have this issue for me.

using tmobile note 4 stock messaging app. i receive text and mms on my moto360 fine. i swipe left to reply. when i select reply it turns to a green check mark and disappears instead of opening google now. i look on my phone and it appears the phone saves a blank draft in the message thread. reply works fine with note 3 and hangouts on note 4. im just not a fan of hangouts. any help or suggestions would be great. ive tried like 5 other messaging apps but most dont have mms support(shows received photo on watch). the stock messaging app has that mms support but i cant reply.

There's also 8sms app
I've noticed when trying to send pictures on the stock Samsung messages app the thumb nail for selected pictures doesn't seem to go away after sending them. Does anybody else have this issue?

Download Textra, its more powerful and in my opinion one of the best texting apps there is. been using it for a few years.

Have you tried setting mms behavior to system in settings in the textra app
Yes, I have made that adjustment as well.
I keep having issues with the messaging app built in. Only when I get messages from iphones it always shows the download message box and I have to hit it. I'd there a better messaging app where I don't have to do that? My s6 didn't do that with stock messaging.

Group messages from iPhones? Your phone is trying to receive an MMS and you might have the auto download MMS off in the settings of your messaging app.
Thanks finally found that part of settings for both group messages and auto download. Let's see if that works.

I just got my OP5. Is anyone else having an issue seeing the group recipients on an MMS text using the stock messaging app? I can only see the sender. I'm on ATT. I am able to see the entire group if I download the ATT messaging app from the play store, but I prefer the stock app. I've double checked the APN settings. It doesn't matter if the senders are all Android, IOS or mixed.
Thank you for reading.

Stock messaging app does not support group MMS (single group, 1 thread).
It's ridiculously, I know. 2017 and no group support out of the box. Use another app (Android Messenger is recommended).
Thank you. Android Messages works perfectly.
