Set warranty bit message - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys, I've read about knox and now I get how it works and all, warranty isn't an issue for me (long story) so now I have the new bootloader flagged 0x1, now my question is whenever I boot into recovery or into OS I'm greeted with "set warranty bit : recovery/kernel" and "recover/kernel is not seandroid enforcing", I also kind of understand that this is related to knox bootloader but is it something I should worry about? Will flashing different roms/kernels now that I'm on the new bootloader mess up anything other than the already flagged 0x1? Thanks.

No, it's nothing to worry about at all, just ignore it
Or when booting to recovery go a bit cross eyed and enjoy a funky rainbow effect, it's amazing

Laughed loud. Just wanted to let you know.

Please Help! Ive been searching all day yesterday to fix my phone
So i wanted to be updated so i downloaded mf9 and mja and all the kernels or whatever and installed them and was on stock non rooted rom for a while, yesterday i wanted to install sacs custom rom so i downloaded the newest one and flashed via twrp, but now all that happens is i get a message saying "Kernel is not seandroid enforcing" in red "Set warrenty Bit: Kernel" in yellow, I cannot flash anything via odin except philz recovery so i have that on there but i tried to install the stock firmware through odin and everything fails. I even changed usb cords, took out the .md5 extension, plugged the usb cord directly to the motherboard instead of using the front usb which that allowed me to flash philz recovery but i just want a working phone, no rom is working and I cant install any roms please help i need my phone back! Thanks, Chris

All Right I have the solution for you! I was lucky enough to find someone that knew how to fix this (Damageless) so here is what you need to do.
-Take out the battery and disconnect from computer
-Put battery back in and hold down Vol(down) and home key, then hold power button until it vibrates. Release only the power button after it vibrates.
-You should now be in the download mode, click Vol(up) to continue.
-Download Odin here: odindownload .com
-Download stock ROM here: (dont open click save) sammobile .com and (yes you have to create an account I'm sorry) search for your model number, ex. SM-N900t for tmobile note 3
-install Odin
-check the PDA box not phone and click PDA
-find the stock ROM in your downloads and select that one.
-hit Start and you should be back to normal
It will erase everything you had on your phone which sucks I know but at least your phone works! Good luck! Hope this helps!

Bricked phone (FIXED)

Hello everyone! I tried installing a custom ROM using a dual boot method. I was on MH6 that silly version that uses knox. When I'm trying to install a stock ROM using odin, I get a black screen and in the top left corner there's a red text that says "SECURE FAIL: KERNEL", also there's one more white text that says "System software not authorized by Samsung has been found on your phone."
Btw, these are my stats on downloading mode...
KNOX KERNEL LOCK: 0xffffffc
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 0xffffffc
Any help please? I'm desperate, I even tried installing a stock ROM using bootloader, modem, pda, csc it still gave me that aboot error, removed the bootloader and I'm still stuck with the non-samsung software version.
Thanks!

you could try and flash adam kernel very close to stock with no knox dont know if it will work http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2281738
Are you using the latest firmware when flashing with odin? It won't let you down grade from the firmware you were on. I get firmware from sammobile.com.

First, I'll try to flash adam's kernel, even though I cannot access recovery mode, i'll try to make an odin flashable .tar.
Second, I've tried many firmwares including the newest one and even some old ones, even tried to remove the aboot as I said in the main post, but no luck.
I'll come back with an edit if it works or not, anyways thx!
EDIT: Didn't work X(. Still get that Non-authorized software problem.
P.S: It can now be closed, fixed it thanks to this guy: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45826072&postcount=5276

Can u explain us what u did for fix ur phone exactly?? Did u still having ur knox 0x0 or u have now 0x1??

boot screen kernel is not seandroid enforcing

hello guys
i have i9505 here when it boots it shows in top left corner this massage in red and yello and it just stuck at that massage with galaxy s4 logo
(red) boot screen kernel is not seandroid enforcing
(yello ) set warranty bit kernel
TBH with you guys i Don't know what happened with this phone beside someone tried to flash it with a rom and it went wrong
and what do you think about this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2594483 did anyone try it and what happened to phone ??
how do i know phone region ?? CSC_config_LSB
a friend of me said i need Z3x samsung tool box to fix it is that a box or a program that i can download ??
I'm sorry to bother you
That method should work
Edit: and no you don't need any toolbox
thank you another question how do i know My Phone CSC or region or any firmware will be ok ??
I honestly don't know, for my model I just download the firmware for it and flash it but it may be different for the i9505.. I would think you download the firmware for your country/carrier if available from sammobile.com and flash it through Odin.. There may be a guide for this try searching the forums
on which model you tried this ?? and how did it go , did work ??
I didn't have the same problem but I know this solution works, it fixes many problems.. I have M919 USA model
ok i will try it nothing to lose and About Z3x do you really think I don't need it , because my friend said its only solution for this problem !
Yeah I'm pretty sure you don't, as long as it turns on you shouldn't need it for the most part
i tried that on 1st attempt it failed however in 2nd attempt odin doesn't detect phone ??
i did try it 3 times i only got a firmware upgrade enncoutered an issue please select recovery mode in kies and try again !! AND kies is not connecting the Phone.
Uninstall kies, reboot and try again
did that nothing changed
Try changing usb ports and try every last available port, if that doesn't work try reinstalling drivers
did it all and nothing changed
will downgrading help ??

Nope.. Can you try a different computer?
Edit: what version of Odin are you using? Try a different version, or newest if you don't already have it
It's just a normal message when you use a custom kernel. A custom kernel is always included in a custom rom. So nothing to worry about.
You can do 2 things:
1. Flash a custom recovery (if you don't already have on), flash the custom rom you want.
2. Flash one of the latest stock roms. The rom from the thread you posted is outdated and can't be flashed to your phone if you have the latest bootloader.
They are right, I actually thought about suggesting that but for some reason I thought you didn't have custom recovery, if you do you can just flash a ROM without having to worry about connecting to Odin
sorry for late respond i will try to flash recovery and see if i can boot to into it

Hi,
I realise that this is a common problem and that the usual response is "go read"
Here's the short version:
Bought the phone secondhand ROM installed is some varient of 5.1.1 afaik, tried to back up the ROM before trying otrher ROMS, CWM didn't work - read some threads - tried TWRP which seems to be installed, got into a boot loop, read some more threads - tried to install glamour S6 from TWRP, nothing happened now getting "Kernel is not seandroid enforcing"
Absolutely no idea where to start - I've had android phones before and always successfully rooted and installed ROMS before.
If anyone could help I would be very grateful as I don't want to make it even worse.
TIA....

You could have flashed a Stock ROM first / fresh and then try out other ROMSs.

Yes, possibly...
However, what I did was try to back up the supplied ROM first.
So that I would be less likely to bugger it up
I'm not sure that it has the OEM ROM tbh.

Hi,
I don't think I can flash anything at the moment ?
All I'm getting is "Kernel is not seandroid enforcing" in a loop.
Not sure where or how to start
V+ & home & power does go to Team Win Recovery Project v2.8.7.0
Can I do anything useful from there ?

well, by flashing i meant downloading a frimware from sammobile or... and using odin to install the stock rom , dont let that "kernel not seandroid enforcing" get on you nerve that one doesnt really matter , only way to solve your prob is to install a stock frimware...
about the slow download speed try searching the latest frimware name on google and a direct link from another download site might probably come up...

I guess the only solution for your problem is to download a stock version and flash using Odin. Then you can start trying other ROMs and so.
It will work 100% for sure.

Hi,
Thanks that's what I've been trying to do, downloaded 3 ROMs before you suggested that one. Finally worked out that unzipping them in windows was causing errors (reason unknown) switched to a different zip program and the ROMs are ok now. Still wouldn't install in Odin, switched to a different PC - same problem - bought a new quality USB lead and I've now installed the ROM suggested by you, I don't know whether the other ROMs would have installed as I didn't try with the new USB cable.
All the operations in Odin carried out successfully, I've now got a slightly different problem - when Odin finished, the phone booted:
"Samsung Galaxy Note 4" "powered by Android" then just SAMSUNG logo in the middle of the screen with some music - then back to the "Samsung Galaxy Note 4" "powered by Android"
I've had to take the battery out to stop the bootloop - I have looked for answers to this: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23501681358554645
I'm a bit reluctant to randomly try fixes in case I make it worse ?
If anyone can help me out of the boot loop ?

Maybe the version that your phone was running was "coj5" Build of 5.1.1. this is the latest build of 5.1.1 and it basically locks down your phones bootloader you can't flash any old 5.1.1, 5.0.1 or 4.4.4 firmwares just go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N910C/PAK/ and download the top firmware which is coj5. flash it and it might take you out of the bootloop (do a factory reset first) it will lock your bootloader to run only 5.1.1 or newer builds but since you have already tried other roms i think its worth it atleast you will have a working phone. (don't worry about csc being PAK it does not have any additional bloat)
Just in case it's of any help to anyone in the future.....
The unzipping problem was down to unzipping inside windows - as soon as I used winrar, no more corrupt files.
The install from Odin problem was down to a knackered USB cable.
Many thanks to Captain Droid and everyone else.
I got out of the last bootloop by repeatedly wiping the caches, after about 3 wipes it booted and seems to be running ok...
I'm very pleased to have it working again
Is there's a safe/best way to try other ROMs or is it a case of best leave alone ?
Less bloatware would be nice - or is there a way to properly remove some of it ?
I have N910CXXU2COL2_N910COLB2COL1_THL installed atm
What's the best currently available custom ROM for the N910C ?
Do not be afraid to ask dumb questions; they are easier to handle than dumb mistakes
Is there any obvious reason why Rom Manager can't install a custom recovery with this Rom ?

Hi,
I've installed this and am grateful to have a working ROM. I thought that after installing this, I would be able to install other ROMs ?
I would like to back up EFS and the current install before trying to install another ROM, ROM Manager won't work, so I have tried to back up EFS from Philz Touch Recovery, that hasn't worked either. It couldn't write to SD1 but claimed to have written to the phone, but hadn't.
I've also tried to install Sixperience from Philz, without any success - another bootloop. I eventually managed to reinstall the THL ROM via Odin.
Is it possible to back up EFS from the THL ROM ?
Can I install sixperience from Odin ?
Is sixperience the best ROM to try ?
TIA.....

Unable to download new ROM to Note3 N900W8

Hello and I apologise in advance for the size of the post. I'll try to be as succinct as possible but there's a lot to say. First off, I had a Wind Note 3. Then sick of the reception I swapped to Mobilicity. I rooted the phone 8 mos. ago and it went well, but a month later when I tried to install a new rom with Odin I did something wrong. To the best of my abilities, i made sure that what I was installing was for my type of phone. My Note ended up caught in an unending rebooting process with the message 'Recovery Booting...Recovery is not Seandroid Enforcing Set Warranty Bit: recovery'. So I reconnected it to Odin and let it do its thing and I had a mediocre working phone. The menu and back keys were useless. I lived like that until I saw this post. So I downloaded the first item from this site. For Gapps I got the first choice of this list . However when I went to put my mobile in recovery mode it did the same 'Recovery Booting' message as it did the last time. Then I ran Odin again with this and while the phone was still not working properly when I tried to boot on recovery mode it allowed me to. I then uploaded the new rom but I got this message: (please follow this link for pictures.
So I need some guidance in what to do even if it is to tell me to use it as a paperweight. However, I think there's still hope for it. Any input will be much appreciated it.
I suggest you start over by flashing a stock rom from sammobile.com.

I did found the rom as u advised. The problem still persist, Odin shows no button called PDA as a mention but AP instead. Any ideas?
Sorry for pestering you, I dont mean to spam you. Thank you kindly,

AP=PDA
Sent from my SM-G925F
PDA appears in Odin 3.07. AP appears in newer versions.

Thats very normal. Custom recoveries will provoke such notifications. If u flash stock firmware or stock recovery that message will disappear
Can you please guide me through steps please

They have no need to bother you, they only show up for 2 seconds whilst booting.
As kingRaheel has said that's what you get with these custom ROMs
