I have not used my Ouya for some time. Today when I tuned it on it installed an update and now my USB controllers (other than my F310 and that only works in xInput/xBox mode) that were working before are not working. They still work on my computer but not the Ouya.
Am I the only one having this or even the only one using none xbox/PS3 controllers on the Ouya?
i have a similar problem...now my ps3 controller is always recognise as first player no matter what i do...so when i wanna play with a friend i cant cause both pad (ouya one) and ps3 one are first players at same time...this is pretty annoying!!!! any tip to fix it???

Has anyone had any success getting a PS3 sixaxis controller to work with their A500?
http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/09/sixaxis-controller-android-app-makes-firing-off-hadoukens-easy-a/
Using their testing tool it says it is connected/paired, but the controller doesnt connect. when selecting "scan for devices" from the bluetooth menu the controller never shows up.
I've paid for the main app... works beautifully on my Iconia! Been playing on N64Soid all afternoon... Must use their PC software to reflag the Bluetooth address first. Instructions are on Dancing Pixel's website.
If only I could keymap the actual Dpad to be recognised seperately... poss a fault with the *soid software.
Try it again... it's splendid stuff!!
alright, ill try again when i get home.
glad to hear it does work tho! cant wait to play emu games!
what source do you use for ROMs??
On the stock rom, unrooted, I plugged in my ps3 controller via USB and it worked perfectly no custom software required. I was playin an n64 emulator with the ps3 controller and even had the output going to my TV by HDMI out.
Has anyone done this yet? I'm running ICS Stunner and it recognises but dosnt work. Any way of fixing this or another rom that supports? I've tried the usb/bt connect app also no joy. Want to use it with Onlive mainly. Any help much appreciated

What are you actually trying to do?
playing games using XBOX360 on NOTE? if you will be able to do that then that's great! but I guess that's close to impossible
You can play xbox 360 games on Android. The cloud gaming app Onlive let's u do this, they've added touch screen support for a couple of xbox games and it supports an xbox 360 controller through usb otg to play the games they haven't added touch screen for but in order to do that ur phone needs to support using the controller, there's an app for it if your rom/kernel supports it. Apparently ISC does but I can't get it working. It sees the controller and knows it's there but won't use it. People have done it but I can't find out out and I don't fancy trying all the roms to see which ones do :/

Xbox controller doesn't work for me.
WiiMotes via bluetooth and PS3 controllers via USB OTG working perfectly however.
I wanted to post a quick note about game controllers for the Note.
Can't speak for everybody, but I have found in hard to find definitive information on what gamepads will or won't work with the Note. I had previously tried all different combinations. Xbox wired controllers. Wiimotes over bluetooth, and even 2 different Onlive controllers. In all cases the results were mixed.
So, I sort of gambled and bought a Wired Sony Sixaxis controller. It works perfectly! This is a Sony branded official Playstation controller.
For the record, its a wired version, I connected to the Note with an USB OTB adapter. It connects from the mini USB port with a female USB end.
I was able to use the controller for several Android Market games, including Grand Theft Auto, and Shadowgun. Also, I connected to Onlive and was able to use the controller without issue.
I have not tried any emulators (not my thing) and I found at least one game that "should" work does not. That's PES 2012. In fairness, I may not have the right version. In theory, anything Xperia Play Optimized on the Market should work.
The best part was that I got the controller for $30 at my local gamestop.
Hope this helps someone.
Don't know if this works with wired controllers but has some nice extra features for wireless sixaxis controllers.
- Keyboard emulation. Map all buttons and sticks to almost any key available in Android.
- Mouse emulation. Configure a button to activate the mouse pointer on devices that support mice (most tablets, and many phones should work).
- Touch emulation allows you to map buttons and analog sticks to the screen. Play all your favourite games with full analog support, even those without built-in controller support!

Have seen this but haven't tried it, looks like it adds the same features as the sixaxis app.

How did you get SixAxis and the PS3 controller to work on Shadowgun?
I have the app, PS3 controller and connect wirelessly via Bluetooth. The controller paired just fine with my AT&T Note. I fired up Grand Theft Auto and the controller works just fine with no additional setup.
For Shadowgun, though, nothing works.
So, here's the situation:
I have 3 gamepads, one is a fake dualshock, which isn't compatible with my nexus 7 at all, not to my surprise, and 2 other normal pc usb gamepads.
One is a fairly cheap Logic3 gamepad and the other a Logitech Rumblepad 2. The Logic3 one actually belongs to my little brother, so I can't really use it all the time.
Now, I was trying to hook up my Logitech gamepad to my nexus 7 with an OTG cable, might I interject I'm running PA 2.99 beta 2 with the stock kernel it comes with (if this is important for some reason), to use it as a gamepad for emulation. I'm playing a game on Gameboid, the GBA emualtion software. Now, it recognises both the gamepads. The problem is, my own gamepad doesn't function well in that, when assigning "hardware buttons" in Gameboid itsself, all buttons except the D-pad show up as '<unknown>', and don't do anything. The logic3 one I borrowed from my brother to test gives the same message '<unknown>' for every button, but it DOES work. Every button is recognised, and functions seperately when playing the game, so I can actually play with the Logic3, but not with my own gamepad.
Does anyone know what might be the cause, does this mean my gamepad won't really be compatible, or is this kernel-base/ROM-base? Are there drivers/kernel modules I should look for?
Any help would be appreciated!
Sincerely
MajorMonodon
A... Anyone?
No one?

Does this happen only on Gameboid or on other android emulators as well? It could be the gamepad is just not compatible with it since your using an OTG cable. I would double check the rom's thread and see if anyone else is having issues with using wired controllers just to be sure. I can't even play Gameboid for too long without it crashing my Nexus 7 and making it restart on its own. I'm still trying to figure out why this happens.
I was about to the buy the Nexus Player, along with the controller, and I was wondering if someone could test the controller on the OUYA. I really like the Nexus Player's controller, so I was wondering if it can be used to replace to the OUYA controller?
Idk, But if/when they release kernel source you could probably port the controller to ouyas kernel if you had to
Will the ouya or ps4 controllers work on Nexus player. God I hope so. I have 4 ouya and 4 ps4 controllers. I can't afford to buy any more controllers.
Does anyone have an answer for this?

By default, the Ouya controller does not work very well, the button mapping is all messed up. Once we get root, I can add the proper keyboard layout files from the Ouya and let you know if that works. At least it pairs just fine.
Ps4 controller does not work
I've tried a bunch of times to get the PS4 controller to work, but I cannot get it to pair over bluetooth and I don't have a usb otg cable to see if it works over usb. :/
Do you have the nexus player gamepad? Can it pair with OUYA and play games?

I do not have a Nexus Player gamepad. I already have 4 Ouya gamepads, so I thought getting another one was just too much.
I've got the nexus gamepad delivered to me yesterday and although I haven't tested pairing it with the ouya yet, I'm pretty sure that the button mapping will be messed up. I have paired it with my note 10.1 2014 and it works great! Especially with Limelight (whatever the newest root ver is)
Yup, as said above, it DOES pair, but the mapping is all messed up. One of the keypad buttons maps to 'back', not had the triggers working in anything. But some games have still been playable.
Hope someone gets this working as it's also quite good to have the touchpad area to move around too.
Oh, the other thing is both the standard gamepad and the ouya gamepad when paired show as the same controller (ie, player1). Not sure where the other ouya pad I've got is to see if that turns up as player2.
