I cannot get my Sony smart watch 2 to pair with my g2.
It works fine with my Sony z and my Samsung s3
Can anyone please shed some light on this. Help

Mine paired fine... turn nfc n bluetooth on on phone, make sure watch is on, hold watch to the back of the phone.... easy as pie...
Not to derail the thread, but how do you guys deal with the display on that watch? My gf and I dropped into a Sony store the other day and an employee brought one out for us to check out.
I was stunned at how bad the display is on that watch. The numbers and text were super jagged and not clear. I've seen $10 watches at Walmart with cleaner and more crisp numbers.
We walked out super unimpressed. What do you guys think?
The watch is crap.
And with nfc and bt on it still will not pair

I just purchased a new stereo for my car, a Sony mex-bt2800. I paired my phone to the deck no problem, but the audio stream seems to keep getting interupted for a second or two at random. Is anyone else having similar issues streaming to a2dp devices? I don't have any other a2dp devices to pair the phone to, so I don't know if it's a problem with the phone or the deck.
Edit: New problem, see my last post.
This happened to me before. For my phone it turned out to be a battery widget. Weird.
Edit: I have a similar setup. Sony MEX-3700U.

I've got no idea how to fix this issue, but yes, I get the same problem. I've noticed that A2DP sounds like garbage with this phone. My wife's Evo sound a lot better (though still not great). Just wanted to comment that you're certainly not alone with this problem. I've just learned to live with it until Samsung fixes the whole headphone out/bluetooth source issue.
No live wallpaper.

My sound quality is great. I can't tell the difference between AUX and bluetooth on my sony.
For me the sound would jitter on both my car stereo and when using wired headphones.
Something is peggin the phone. I had to run logcat to find out what it was.

Mine sounds fine to my jabra extreme. I actually hook it up usb to my head unit and it sounds awesomer that way...yes that's right, awesomeR. You can't ask for great sound quality from a bt headset, kind of their major flaw.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
The sound quality is actually pretty good, much better than I anticipated. I'm going to play around with it some more today and see if I can find a solution. It was skipping a lot, atleast 10 times in a 3 minute song. I'll run it through some tests and report back.
Thanks for your input guys! Much appreciated.
P.S.- dangdang, I'm loving the avatar!!! Disc golf rules lol!

Well... I think I figured it out. Lastnight, I had accidentally left wifi on when I left the house. Today it was off and not a single skip for the 1.5 hours I was driving. Awesome!
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I guess that's a possibility. I leave my wifi on all the time, so that would explain it. I'll have to check it next time I head out somewhere. Thanks, man.

Now I can't get the AVRCP controls to work for the stock music player. Any suggestions?
I have the same unit... skips and volume work on pandora for me.
But I don't know what AVRCP stands for so I am not sure if that has anything to do with what you are attempting.

I know this has been asked before, but can any awesome xda developer can find a way to use your phone as a Bluetooth headset for the PS3? Thank you SO much if you do, a lot of the community could benifit from this and it would be AWESOME if someone could do this. Thanks!

But then you would have to use 1 hand to hold the phone to your ear?
speaker phone
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Haha I could use this.
I have 4 phones, 3 of them sit on my desk, I only use one of them. setting one up as a bluetooth "headset" would be awesome, could leave my phone charging and use one of my other ones to talk with.
Would make awesome for multitasking too... of course useless if you have an actual bluetooth headset... Which if you don't go get one, decent ones are like 20 dollars now.
Why not use call forwarding?
OK so I work as a dish network technician. Sometimes I hook up my headphones to my glacier to listen to some music and run it through my shirt so as for them to not get pulled while working on the ladder and all that. What do you guys think would be the best an easiest way toblisten to my music? How I'm doing it or are there any wireless solutions.. any help is a appreciated.

Assuming you mean access to the music media and not e.g. wireless headphones, if in the USA, try Google Music and mark songs for offline while you're on WiFi, so it won't use up data. Otherwise, I woukd suggest a large memory card.

There is this one Bluetooth+ wireless headphones, at radioshack. I wanna say by Samsung, really nice set. The headphones plug into the Bluetooth, then the headset clips on to your shirt. The earbuds are really strong too,I used them at my work for a while, very nice sound. The price I wanna say is around 60-80, can't remember.

I have to vote for Bluetooth headphones as well. I've tried two pairs: Motorola S9s, and Rocketfish RF-MAB2. The S9s were not worth what I paid for them. The sound quality was ok at best, the earbuds uncomfortable, and the battery life was not great. Their top selling point (for me, anyways) was that they were sweatproof. As I run and work out a lot, I was really looking forward to no more tangles. Turns out, they are not sweatproof. After about 3 weeks of workouts, they crapped out. The controls became unresponsive; I couldn't even get the power button working to turn them off. And I lost my receipt, so there went any replacement.
Did some research and took a shot at the Rocketfish RF-MAB2s. They are absolutely fantastic and better than the S9s in every aspect. Much more comfortable, the sound quality is fantastic, and the battery life is pretty much as advertised. The only drawback is that they are not specifically advertised as being sweatproof. However, I've been using them for over 3 months with no problems whatsoever. As a precaution, I wipe them whenever I feel they might start getting wet, and I bought a few of these covers to make sure sweat doesn't get into the charging port.
Bluetooth works great for me. Search Ebay and you can find a bunch. make sure it's the ones that can transfer media (music), not the ones that are used for calls.
Awesome thanks guys will try some out and let you guys know which ones worked great...I doubt here is but there wouldn't be like just a one eared headphone so I an just listen to music in one ear would there??

Personally, I use the Jabra BT-3030 dogtag adapter. It let's you use the headphones of your choice. I do the same thing with tucking the wires under my shirt. The device is great, streams music and takes calls. There is a Mic built into the top of the device. it has all the music controls and they work as expected, has its own independent volume control too. You can even use it as a remote control if you plug another cord into the phone's jack. Pretty cool if you hook up to a stereo and feel like being lazy.
I prefer in ear buds, so this was the best solution for me. You can find it for $20-30 online.

I used to have an eBay Bluetooth headset that played music through the speaker when connected to my computer, but not on my phone. I think in order for your phone to play music through it, it has to recognize it as a media receiver and most single earpiece sets will only receive call audio.
Hi guys, I used to own a Optimus G. Before buying, I was really happy that it should come with Fm radio. Well, that was a bad joke since it was totally unusable. Although I live in a big German city, I could only listen to like 2 stations, and quality was bad. My girlfriend's xperia zl gets more than 10 stations and quality is quite okay, especially for news. We also tried it with the same headphones, so just Optimus G fm radio is bad.
Has is improved with the G2?
Thanks in advance!

Wish I could tell you... The NA versions of the G2 don't have FM radio out of the box. Maybe a future hack?

Okay for your interest : got the chance to test fm radio at a local store. Exactly the same unacceptable quality as Optimus g. Only found 2 stations and one of them was not even clear. Tried same headset in another phone (xperia z) and found like 20 and could listen to all of them. Really embarrassing for LG that they did not put any effort into this problem.

Did you have a set of headphones in? I ask because sometimes the headphones are used as an antenna.
Well, after usual setup, playing around and other things you do when you received your toy I tried the famous watertest. Which I bought it for.
After checking the bits and pieces that need to be closed, I gently placed it in the filled sink while playing some iptv show and recorded it. Nice to show up when with friends and so. See? No problem!

Recording went great but when I went back to the room the screen started to glitch and touchscreen stopped working. Phone went into reboot loop and freaked out. After removing SIM and SD card and pushing the red button the phone started. When it was ready booting, the touchscreen was still not working. After a few minutes, the screen started to flicker.
So for those who want to try. Please do, now it's still under warranty.
Thre's a youtube movie of this happening on the IFA too. Don't know the name of it.
This one will be returned.
I haven't tried yet and wasn't really planning on doing so, but your thread is tempting me... After all it is supposed to be a water proof phone, right?
For someone that has already dealt with Sony, how easy is it to deal with them for a warranty aim like this?

you will be able to buy a new flap/cover here in the near future - one of the reasons why the dock or magnetic cable is a must have
http://rounded.com/
to the OP - you might have trouble convincing Sony that you had all the flaps properly closed, they can do a vacuum test on the phone but you are putting you trust in them to be honest and truthful about their findings
here's an interesting water damage pack http://www.clove.co.uk/rescuetec-water-damage-repair-recovery-kit
I really hope so I sent them a email thanks I ordered one of the magnetic chargers

I think you shouldnt open flaps after having it in water. I understand that They Were closed under water, but when it was still wet, some water could have Got under flaps when you opened them and sony May say that They were not properly closed

Well, my previous phone was xperia Z and every time I went into the pool I took Z with me and stayed for at least 2 hours in the water and never had a single issue. As Z1 is even more waterproof, I had no problem whatsoever taking it with me.
I've tested my phone on a log flume and in a jug of water. No problems....

Some forum member wanted to know whether the flaps were (properly) closed. They were...I recorded it. And checked about a dozen times. It's a 600+ euro device...So Sony can claim what they want. A vacuum test will show the answer.
Nice thing happened when packed for returning it. It went on for no reason (without display ofcourse) and after an hour I felt heat through the box (the original box it comes in when buying it).... barely couldn't touch the device, had to reset the device (button near the SIM) and now it's on a fireproof place just in case awaiting arrival of the repair guy.
(pickup and return guy actually)
I took the plunge last night and submerged my phone to show it to friends. It still works fine....
Shame about the phone. I tried mine this morning while showering. Took some pictures and they turned out to be rather artsy (yes, they're SFW)!

Don't get me wrong, I still love the phone and of course this one somehow slipped through QA. It's not a rant against Sony or something. I just want to say that It is possible that the phone isn't waterproof in all cases. So be carefull when dropping it in the water. Just like the girl on the IFA youtube clip already showed us. She tried a working device at the Sony demo stand and was allowed to submerge it. Device broke. Whoops...
By the way does anyone played with the touch block feature? Whatever that is? It seems some sort of automatic touchscreen disable feature so that the water does not causes fake touch presses.
May be with this article, you prevent issues in the futur ?
