I take it you believe ALL HTC ones have the low light tint problems... Hate to break it to you but they don't. Maybe he got one of the good ones? Not everyone shares your pain.
If you know how retail works you would know why he was pushing one product more than the other. He gets a bonus when he sells the S4. Samsung can give a S4 for free to the employee that sells the most S4s that month.

I went with a friend of mine to look at phones this summer, he was hemming and hawing between the S4 and the HTC One. All three clerks very strongly suggested the S4, which I figured was just those employees opinions. Feel like I might have been a bit naive on that one.

You made the right choice, I always find no matter how nice a samsung may feel at first it eventually gets boring and you want to move on.
I find with the HTC One it has such a premium feel it feels fresh A rooted HTC one with Viper ROM is even better.

I wasn't referring to the tint issues. I know there are flawless HTC Ones out there. I meant outside photographing. It takes good enough photos for me (and many others), but some outdoor images taken with higher MP cameras seem to be sharper and more detailed.
Again, it's good enough for my needs, though. I only upload photos on social sites like FB and Instagram. I don't exactly print pictures and paste my wall with them.
I went from an S4 to the One. It is a better phone in every way.

Agreed. The speakers are in the right place, it doesn't lag, it's beautiful. Pretty much everything the S4 isn't!
If you only had a choice between the S4 and One you made the right choice. I bought both of them and returned both of them. Always pick LG over either of them.

Post the same question in the S4 forum and they will tell you you made an mistake buying the H1 you are singing to the choir post that question here.
John.
Coming to the One from the S3 is like night and day in terms of build quality. The One feels far better in the hand. Also, If you're inclined to stick with the manufacturers ROM, I would take Sense over Touchwiz any day!

EXACTLY my views. EXACTLY. To me, it takes good enough photos outside because I just post it to facebook and instagram but I pointed out outdoor cos TONS of people say the picture is blurred and grainy when zoomed in and not sharper in even zoomed out photos etc. To me, the camera is fine as it suits my needs. But just to make sure you know it I wrote it

I currently have a sanding vibrant and was looking to pick up a mytouch however I wanted to ask you guys first to see if it was worth it. I've read through the general and q&a sections and have seen posts about bad screens and bad chips which made me doubt getting it. So yea what do you guys think should I get it or not
P.S. the sensation is out of the question right now as I don't have the money to buy it and need a phone to replace my vibrant
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Yes, it is deff worth it! The things about the bad screen and chips were only for the first batch of mytouch's that were made, so I doubt u will get a bad screen at this time. But it is a great phone, and once again, totally worth it! Especially if u plan to root it

Well just make sure you have a good one, and if you do then this is a wonderful phone. Greatly underrated IMO.
But of course there is a "but." And that's the quality control, which sucks ass. That's why you see so many threads regarding bad screens, bad eMMC chips, off centered FFC, creaks at buttons light leakage you name it.
But like I said, if you find that good one then this is an awesome phone.

This isn't true I know people who recently got theirs and have the bad screen and chip,i got mines and may and have a good screen, but bad chip...Htc is using both chips still. Even replacement phones can have either once.if you ask me I feel you should save your money for something more recent instead, wait for next year or at least till ice cream sandwich is released, you wans get the best for your money right? The vibrant is very good and should hold you off for something better, I like my mt4g, but it's a minir upgrade for you. Both phones are pretty equal in specs, some downgrades and upgrades...mytouch has the dragon why sammy has the hummingbird, dragon has lower power, but sammy has the power vr 540 or 535 thats better for 3d apps. And it has more internal space, but crappy camera and bad plastic. Mytouch has 4g and vibrant 3g I belive, so the choice is up to you.

I don't think that's necessarily true. I bought mine a week after launch and I got a good screen and good eMMC, and there have been a lot of people who recently purchased it new from T-Mobile who are still reporting bad components. It seems to be related more to the country of manufacture (China vs Taiwan I think it was).
I bought mine last Nov in FL, good screen and chip. My brother bought his in March in NY Good screen and chip. His GF got hers in NY in April, again good screen and chip. She did need a replacement shipped from somewhere again good screen and chip. So it really is luck of the draw. I suddenly feel like playing lotto.
Well Ill probably get one this week but ill definitely be on the lookout for bad chips and screen

Hello members, so i was reading about the GooPhone that is supposedly patented with the Iphone 5 design in China. They are apparently ready to sue apple once the phone is released.
Anyway it led me to a site that has android/windows/blackberry devices.
Now they seem legit, have looked around and seen that there are some reviews, only negative comments are about the long shipping.
My question is, has anyone here ever ordered from this site.
http://www.fastcardtech.com/
I was interested in maybe ordering a device playing with it for a while, then maybe sending to a dev to see if the components would match that of its US counterpart to see if custom ROMS would be able to be installed.
So please read, look, get interested, and chat about the site!!!!

After some careful research, and some digging into chinese forums. These phones are complete fakes.
It seems that they may not ever make it stateside. They also have IMEI problems, so they may work for a week, but after that they seem to start having disconnect problems. Also looks like the GPS will not work, being that it is based in China satelittes will not transmit here.
I almost bought one today, like 3 times, but after more and more digging, I have decided not too.
This seems to be a complete scam. There are a bunch of sites claiming fraudulent accounts among the site as well.
What seemed so nice quickly slips away.

Ouch... Buzzkill... Guess I should've done a little more digging before posting those sites. BTW, do you have any reference links?
I first went on www.fastcardtech.com/forums and was reading the results of users. Alot sounded pretty upset. Although there are not very many replies, there are some feedback.
I asked a question about a device, and then asked the same question again 2days later, and got a different answer. I will do it again, and get a screen shot so that I can show you all. There was another forum in XDA about the site, there are some saying its legit, others not so much.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=561534
Will post back with more.
I am still considering ordering one, just havent decided yet. I know as soon as I do that they will announce the Note 2 for Tmobile.
I have found a few more credible sites, there is,
www.koobay.com
www.exportandgo.com
Upon searching the fastcardtech site brands devices to companies that dont actually have these devices. For instance, I have found the HDC (china phone maker) and they list their products, then you reference the FTC site and there are thousand of HDC branded devices that are not actually HDC brand!
I've seen an apple S4 by them. The screen res is terrible.it had virtually no memory. Build was terrible. Do not waste your money. I'm sure no rom with work on them.

Why would someone spend so much time and effort trying to put a phone in a bad light? Perhaps to convince himself that he is not jealous of the fact that the One outshines the phone he bought in each and every aspect. He can't be reasoned with, he just wants confirmation that his biased judgement, in his state of denial, is correct. But as he can't get that confirmation, he tries even harder to convince people that his delusional judgement is correct.

Wifi - i have recorded speeds of 25mb download

Ear phone - its ok for free ear phone. Other members in this forum rate these better.

After having a galaxy s (still going) and seeing Samsung's lack of software support, on that alone I'd choose the HTC ONE. I'd be happy with the hardware upgrade of the S4, but the ONE seems like its of better build quality.
Not only that, but the whole PR debacle where Samsung was revealed to have been spreading bad user reviews of the HTC One also casts a shadow of doubt on anybody ridiculously badmouthing the One. Good job Samsung!
Hopefully the fact that almost all of the reviews mention the HTC One in comparison will give it the media exposure it is lacking due to minimal advertising.
