He was just asking who here plans on purchasing the Note 2 and, although there isn't much point to it, there isn't any need to get offensive. But, back on topic, I will most definitely not be purchasing the Note 2 (regardless of how much of an improvement it is) as I am on 2-year contract that won't allow me to get an upgraded device for another year at least. Besides, the Note does everything I've wanted in a phone, so what point is there in replacing it? As long as I get Jelly Bean, which this device should be getting, I am happy!

I skipped galaxy s 3 for note 2. So I ll be one of the early sparrow.
But somehow I feel like getting my hands on xiaomi phone 2. Its half the price compared to note 2 or S 3.but not available here. So my choice note 2

I'm not buying the note 2 purely because its a waste of cash to upgrade after a year to something slightly better, which I will make no use of...for example, why would I want a quad core phone when my Note runs perfectly fine at 1GHz playing games etc? The battery is a different issue though, I would like the slightly bigger screen size but it won't be that much bigger.
Finally...I won't be buying a Note 2 because there is nothing new in terms of a 'feel good about' factor, just a faster processor and bigger screen will only make me smile for a week or so and then die away ...then what?

I will buy it. Already arranged to sell first galaxy note to my friend for quarter of the price at october.

Maybe...I'm not sure. I'm trying to sell my current note as of now. Was thinking about picking up a galaxy nexus to be honest.
I don't know. My note is on eBay for now awaiting a good price...lol.
Haven't even decided if I will sell it for real. I guess time will tell.

Here's a weird-er answer.
I'll get it IF it has a better camera than the S3. If not...I have to say I'll be going towards the S3...

Any android owner would just drow up with a iOS device on the hands.. That's boring as hell and a waste of money.. But that's his money.. Let him be.. I'm sure he will be selling the device 2 days later and getting the new note xD

No couldn't fix it, sold it for $150 and raised another $350, so for now I have an access to $500 for my new phone account ! ! .
Anyway now that I don't own a Note I don't think I even should be here in this forum anymore.

I'll do what i always do....buy the first used ones showing up....after reading about the early adopters disappointments.
Then use my current phone as a backup and guinea pig for interesting ROMS I normally won't try

No. The i9500 is Exynos based. The Google Play Editions are based on the i9505 Snapdragon 600 model.

I bought a i9500 hoping more would opt for it. and would get the google edition tooo... But being a flasholic, i was really disappointed. Oh well... Hoping some ports come up. I keep going to i9505 threads and they have sooooo many roms, and look at the i9500 threads, they are almost barren. :'( !

Blame samsung for not releasing the Exynos sources. I'm stuck with i9500 myself.

Samsung ftw ! THE s4 is my last samsung phone, I was waiting for the note 3 as well however the same s3 note 2 pattern is emerging, so no thanks, selling both n2 and s4. Still dunno which phone I should get

I bought my 9500 yesterday. I took the Exynos even with less support, higher price to play with the 8 core. I can't wait to receive it
I used to be a flasholic for my other device (gnex, n4) till I found PA rom
If I can find 1 good rom on the 9500 I'll be happy

Well, that's a new one. I thought most people here bought the i9500 because it was the only one sold in their countries, but I guess some actually willingly expose themselves to the utter torture of owning an exynos device, knowing the low dev support it has and will continue to have.
Porting something from a Qcomm device to exynos won't be easy, if possible at all. You'll have to wait until CM publishes a nightly for the i9500........whenever that happens....

Here it's the i337 if cm hit the Exynos I'll be happier, but right now I'll just remove the bloatware/tw and it will be fine with stock

Yes this is really annoying to be forced to buy the model that Samsung decides to sell in each country. But geeks can always buy the version they want...if they really want ! Most of us have friends in another countries or know people who travel a lot. However, in this case, we cannot benefit from plans nor warranties...

I changed the launcher to a simpler one, removed the heavy bloatware pack and that's perfect for me.
Note: I am not any fan of some Google "bloatware" that are also present in there rom!

DocRambone has successfully ported this to the i9500. He's currently chasing bugs.

Ridiculous samsung!

S3 note 2 s4 mini are going to get kitkat updates !!!!!!!and not even a 4.2 jb for our s2!!! samsung has forgotten that today its at this stage bcoz of the best seller of that time the mighty galaxy s2!!!!!!!!!!

i NEVER will buy a sumsung device again !!!

Those devices were released comparatively late when seen wid s2..
S2 has been launched for 3yrs and i dont xpect any new updates..
Even gnexus didnt got any update after 18months....
So can't blame samsung...

As long as the phone works and does what I want it to do. I'm happy.

the thing is we dont get atleast a 4.2 update and the 2 year(>18 months old) s3 is getting not only a 4.3 but also a 4.4

S2 was shipped with GB.We got two major updates ICS and JB.Actually we should thank samsung to give us JB because others companies don't support their devices as long as samsung supported s2.Even until now we are getting small updates.

Eek ics was more of a core change rather a visual one... Trust me u will not like 4.2 sammy modifications
Transparent status bar..
Settings divided into 4 columns (pain in the arse)
Quicksettings seems like bunch of blocks arranged near one another ..
My father has a grand running 4.2 and i find it pathetic ... Also the device gets really slow wid these VISUAL mods (grand is as powerful as ours)

1-grand is as powerful as ours?!!! its pathetic its king of lags!!!its not even comparable s2 ,s2 is much better have a look at benchmarks buddy s2 scores 11000 and grand has only 6600 antutu
2-i know 4.2 sammy modifations are not that great but they arent that pathetic still we deserved an update!

After so many hours of thinking and discussion with my team mates I came to a conclusion to say Bye Bye to my bellowed GTab-2 community....
As you know guys I have contributed for tab2 from very starting stage of development....I started my development with Jelly Beast rom at initial stage and and till now I have produced many different ROMs ...I hope you all enjoyed my work....
Yes I have very hard time on writing this thread (my last thread in this community ) because this community was a part of my life from past one year.......but am too over loaded with devices like nexus5 ,note3,note2,Samsung s4,nexus4......etc...
I strongly hope you guys understand me and my point....and co operate with me....
I still remember my promise about SOKP
So @DarkStryder will be representing and maintain official SOKP rom for both variants of Tab2 from my side and my team...I hope you guys will support him and cooperate with him in his threads....
I really miss some users here....hope we will meet some where in xda again.....

Adi my friend you will surely be missed. This was my first and favorite rom of all the roms I've ran on my tab. Without a doubt I always came back to your threads and tried to help who I could. You will be missed but I hope to see you around the forums as always. Good luck my friend

A note 4 may be my next device but as far as the S3 goes I doubt you'll support my carrier as its verizon here in the states. I'm on hangouts also adi, look me up sometime if you use it. Email is [email protected]

In s3 we support 2 models 9300 and 9305 ...my team mate Arun Manohar (Xda RC) will be taking care there .....

Sadly when VZW does get the Note 4 they will lock down the bootloader like they did on the S3, S4 and the Note 3. I was running an earlier version of Android 4.1.2 and refused to update. The new 4.3 bootloader locked the phone down and while rooting is possible anything other than TW roms are not able to be installed.

They will never do what users expected but they will do what is not needed ....
Example Knox .....I don't thing its need ...
They would have over hauled tw ui in kitkat...
But they never bothered about that.....

Sam-sucks! They won't get my money for locked devices! We will move to Nexus, HTC or other root-friendly brands.

nexus 6 new user from a note 4

I got a note 4 a few weeks ago played with it and realized it wasnt much of a upgrade from the note 3 so i decided to go with the nexus 6..... DUDE!!! the nexus 6 is a beast!!! granted the note 4 has the bells and whistles its still a very sluggish phone while the nexus 6 is snappy as ****.... videos phone calls internet!!! DAMN!!! look i love samsung but note 3 note 4 isnt much of an upgrade considering the price.... Touchwiz sucks period.. I personally hate it... If your on the fence... GET this device!!! it wont disappoint!!!!!!! Ive been with samsung since 09..... do yourself a favor and get it...

I have both and it's still a tough decision for me.

I have the Note 3 and played with a Note 4 in the store and came to the same conclusion without having to buy it..... It's a side-grade at best.

I'm going to have to disagree about the Note 4 being sluggish. I feel my wife's note 4 is just as fast and smooth (or smoother in some cases) than my Nexus 6. I'd still never get one but I think it is a good phone.

Yup. I'm totally enjoying my Nexus 6.

I have both yet, and I feel guilty for keeping them both, but I have been using the Nexus 6 more than the Note 4. Lollipop is probably the reason...

What are you doing with Lollipop that you can't do on TouchWiz?
Also why do we have another Nexus 6 Galaxy Note 4 thread? Also the OP basically said he doesn't own the Note 4 he just "played with it"

OP said he got a note 4 a few weeks ago and played with it so yes, he did own it.

Thanks OP. Im on the fence with both of these devices as well. ALSO, to those with the [email protected]$$ comments.....I see nothing has changed here in the many months i've been away....the device forums are still full of children.

I had it for 9 days decided to do a buyers remorse... After seeing a few more videos on the nexus 6.. Not trying to add any more than needed with all the threads.. Just excited and wanted to share...

I would give the note a serious look but I am too married to the on-screen nav buttons. I'm left handed and I prefer the back button on the left. I think I would like the note but I would hate actually using.

I also don't like touchwiz but that isn't a good enough excuse. It's easy for a stock Samsung phone to have a totally different look and feel. And this is XDA , touch wiz can be fixed.

That's the other nice thing about the on screen buttons. They are customizable. You can't move the buttons or customize them on a Note
