I've got an S4 with GoldenEye rom (MJ7) and I'm having trouble with notifications still showing up in my notification bar even after I've
-long-pressed the notification
-then selected app info
-gone into that notification's/app's system based settings
-unchecked the box that says show notifications
-after a while the notification will pop back up
-I then repeat the first three steps
-then notice that the box I uncheck is still unchecked yet the notification is still showing up in my bar.
Apps I've had issues with (obviously not talking about Voicemail or other system apps that block you from turning them off):
-Automagic
-Easycontroller
-BBM
-Overlay
-a lot of 3rd party apps that you have to enable in Accessibilities
Any solutions?

Up until yesterday front LED notifications worked flawlessly. I decided to backup my current ROM and ever since the notifications have not worked. I get the vibration (even custom vibrations that I have setup) but no LED.
Confirmed:
Screen is off
Notifications are turned on
LED works for incoming & missed calls
What I've tried:
Restore the backup from last night (no luck)
Uninstall/Reinstall GoSMS and restored GoSMS settings (no luck)
Uninstall/Reinstall GoSMS only - from a fresh Play Store download (no luck)
Completely uninstalled GoSMS and reverted to stock message app (LED notification works)
-Do not have LightFlow installed. Did try it a few months ago, couldn't get it to behave the way I wanted.
-No other LED "controls" installed.
-Gmail LED notifications not working either
As previously stated, no changes to the device other than backing up the ROM. No new downloads, customizations, etc.
Dear God...I'm going mad, any advice?
Within the display > led section... have you enabled downloaded apps switch... if you have that disabled the third party apps leds don't work

Thanks for the reply. Can you be a little descriptive? I don't see anything about 3rd party apps in the Settings > Display Section (or in the Notification Light section).
Settings > Display > notification led> Downloaded apps... that box needs to be checked

I don't have that option on Verizon.
Oh hmm sorry then no idea ... I just know if whenever I disable that checkbox my third party app leds never work
I factory reset the phone, problem fixed.
Got rid of the issue easily finally by Blocking my Notifications access
Hi,
This has worked for me since yesterday, earlier my phone use to get locked every ten seconds or so and I was not at all able to use it.
I was having a gut feeling that the issue of locking and changing wallpaper is face most of the times when some Message is about to arrive or some notification from some application is poping up on screen.
For this yesterday what i did is as follows:
Settings > Notifications > Pop-up notifications are disabled
When device is locked
Don't show notifications at all
App notifications
Messaging
blocked
Notification access
Theme chooser - It can be allowed as ticked only,no other app
Filter notifications
To do this , when a notification pops up,
say mostly it is for low battery which will lock the screen almost after few seconds.
Press and hold the notification popup message and click on the icon to filter it then it will show under Filter notifications tab.
Select above things in Settings menu and Im sure the problem might get solved for you also.
Only drawback being you cannot see the notification on Locked screen but the blinking green and white light tells about new notifications.
All d best. shared this because since yesterday my phone did not got locked even a single time.I was also visiting this page for solution, happy to provide one for everyone if it works.
Main thing is to block the popup notifications , as soon as these are disabled. Screen wil not get locked.changes might reflect after a phone restart.
Have a good day.
Quick Reply
I've enabled Wi-Fi calling and I can't seem to disable the Notification in either the Status Bar or in the Notification pull-down itself (obviously they're one of the same). It seems the app that creates this is IPService (it shows that when I drag down on the notification). I have it set to "show notifications silently" / "Don't sound, vibrate or appear on the screen regardless of the notification settings in the app" but nothing seems to hide it. It's rather annoying that it's persistent. Obviously turning off Wi-Fi calling will make it disappear but that defeats the purpose!
I have another similar (but less annoying issue) - the persistence of the NFC icon in the Status Bar. I seem to remember in earlier LG devices there was a way to hide this but I can't find it in the G6 software?
The persistent notification for WiFi cannot be disabled, or at least I have yet to come across a way. I believe this is done on purpose to prevent the OS from stopping or interrupting the service. I would love a way to disable the notification from the drop down menu, while keeping it on the notification bar.

Are you talking about the actual notification. Mines gone. Maybe verify that you have same settings as I do in your advanced WiFi settings. See 3rd pic.
It's a notification for Wi-Fi *calling* (see OP)

Sorry my brain didn't process the calling part.
Hi!
Whenever I receive a notification, the AOD shows an icon for the relevant app.
I would like to see a detailed notification, like who sent the message and a preview, not just an icon.
I've already went into the AOD settings and made sure "hide content" and "notification icons only" are not ticked, but no change.
I have the G950U1, lock screen enabled and AOD enabled. not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Would really appreciate help.
That is how it is supposed to work. There's no official way to show the whole notification on AOD other than if you enable Edge Lighting where it will display a preview for a couple seconds before disappearing leaving just the icon to double tap.
Although I am interested if there's some way to jimmy it to be more useful too.
Well, that's disappointing...
Thanks for the reply.
Go to Settings/Apps/Options (3 dots at the top right corner)/Show system apps. Go into Alway On Display, hit Force Stopp, go to Memory and delete data and cache.
Check AoD again.
Just did what you suggested.
Except for now constantly showing a two overlapping circles and "double tap here to find out how to use AOD", no change...
Now, how do I get rid of that icon and text and get the full notification on AOD, if that's possible?
Edit: got rid of the icon and text, but still no full notification on AOD.
Can anyone share a screenshot of full notifications on AOD?
I updated my S10+ (SD) to the latest One UI 2.1. Previously I had turned off the peak notifications via ADB -- with One UI 2.1 it seems Samsung has changed how and where Peak is enabled/disabled and the ADB setting was lost. I tried running the ADB command again and although it was accepted, apps are still showing heads-up notifications instead of just sticking their notification icon in the status bar (which is the way I prefer it).
Going separately into each app's Notification settings doesn't seem to show the options anymore for "sound only" etc anymore...
Any ideas?
It looks like this is now available in the app and the adb hack isn't needed any longer. It would still be nice to apply a global default with this hack rather than changing each app individually. It's there, under "Message notifications" and is called "Show as Pop-up".

Thanks but it doesn't work for me.
In my case, I would like to disable these annoying notifications in Instagram and more apps, but Instagram doesn't appear in the section "show as pop up". It's weird because most apps are there, but not Instagram.
How can I disable heads up notifications?
