waiting on some LTE flavored goodness. thanks tho

A little annoyed with Google for breaking aosp components and not fixing them simply because they don't ship them on the nexus. The aosp browser is completely broken. Quick settings has visual glitches, the address bar doesn't autohide, no more text reflow, and the switch to the far less smooth chrome engine. I also think that they should have atleast added the status/nav bar transparancy to the aosp launcher. They can leave the rest of the launcher changes alone though. I am not a fan of the google experience launcher. The new toast notifications don't fit the look of holo at all either.

For those that prefer using the phone's browser over the XDA app

I made a request to get a dark theme added to XDA and was thinking that if enough people showed interest it might get the ball rolling. The purpose behind this is that a dark theme would improve our battery life as I'm sure all of you know how these screens work.
Before the peanut gallery chimes in, I have no interest in using the XDA app.
Well the premium app has a black theme, have you tried that?

Your in luck, this has already been done. I don't have the premium app, but I am using the dark theme. Just go into settings, it is there.
:facepalm
Forget I even said anything
edit: Just so nobody takes the above comment wrong: I DO NOT LIKE USING THE XDA APP. I want to add a dark theme to XDA's UserCP options.
I'm not sure why you would want to request a feature you wouldn't use, but more power too you..
I originally opened this thread because I was curious to know why someone would rather use the web broweser instead of the XDA app. So whats the pro/con?
I wanna a thanks button on this app

Where are you getting the idea that I wouldn't use it?
I just like the browser version better. I have it as a bookmark in my LP dock pop up which takes me directly to general or development. With the Miran browser I have other forums in different tabs so I can go back and forth between them easily. Its harder for me to navigate the app than it is to navigate the browser. Also when people reply using the app, 90% of the time it gets put in the quote box and and looks like and an empty post when in fact the reply is jumbled in with someone else's post (see post #4 as an example). The only benefit the app has to me is that the text is formatted a little better for legibility but that can be fixed in the browser by simply double tapping the page and zooming in.
This is how I'd like it to look like.

I just flashed your ICS Theme (AWESOME!) and it does look like Honeycomb. I'm now assuming that by "theme" you mean "status bar theme" if that's the case...
HTC Sense
Droid X2
Samsung Ace (white icons w/blue battery icon)
I'm very simple i would love a launcher with only 3 home screens, the toggle in drop down notification bar, the option to add rows and columns. and get rid of the stock phone, app drawer and browser on bottom bar. Thank I really want speedy without unlocking and over clocking my CPU. I mean I would love to but don't have the funds to, but as soon i do I will.

[CM 10] [MOD] Notification Panel + Lockscreen Weather Icons + Some other Stuff

This mod will bring the following changes to your CM10 Android 4.1.2 ROM:
Notification Panel:
-Bottom blue glow 'fading animation' (Like my ICS mod)
-Better carrier label text size
-Didn't give transparent this time, I think black looks beautiful
Click to collapse
Lockscreen:
-Option to chose normal lockscreen or Linkin Park lockscreen, both have AOKP weather icons (Like my ICS mod)
-Replaced some old GB spinners
-For any Linkin Park fans out there like me... =D
Click to collapse
Both the above mods are available in flashable zips. Just flash them in recovery.
Before flashing, DO HAVE A NANDROID BACKUP because most of you have very less space on /system. It may give problems...
Click to collapse
Some additional stuff I made:
Trebuchet Launcher from CM 10.1 Android 4.2.1:
What doesn't work:
-Can't change the number of homescreens
-Can't change any settings under 'Dock' settings.
If you click there, you get FC, nothing big, it still works.
Click to collapse
Everything else is just awesome: speed, the new transitions, etc.
Also, I saved 8MB of space on your system partition by trimming the original app which is 13MB in size. This one is just 5 MB.
To install, just paste in system/app and over write the old Trebuchet. You are advised to have a backup of it before replacing.
On first boot, you may face FC and think I am stupid, but NO!!! If it happens, clear data of Trebuchet from app settings.
Better if you do that before installing this one...
Nexus 4 JB 4.2 Analog Clock Widget:
I love the Nexus 4 JB 4.2 analog clock widget, so I modified Rashed's 4.1.2 ROM's DeskClock.apk and now I have that widget on this ROM.
See the attached image.
If you wanna have it, grab the apk from the link below and paste it in system/app
You have to over write the stock DeskClock.apk for this. Set permissions just like other system apps and reboot.

The linkin park lock screen is quite cool, and the glow works too! thanks! But, for some reason my weather widgets don't appear when enabled with working internet connection. Its stuck on no data - tap to refresh, and when I do tap it, a lot many times, there is no change! I'm on rashed97's Build 7! Is there something I did wrong? Because this problem persisted before flashing this too! Thanks again!

Can I backup a TW ROM and an AOSP ROM and switch between both whenever I want and it run smoothly no matter which one I'm on?

Halo is interesting, but I'm not a huge fan. I really don't have a use case for it. I also don't really like constantly having the halo on my screen when I'm not using it. Lots of people seem to love it though.

I guess I'm just not a fan of how multitasking is implemented with Halo. I applaud the developers for making it, but it's just not for me. Honestly, I wish Google would just add an app drawer to Android that can be accessed from within any app. Part of my problem with Halo is that I have to preconfigure which apps I can multitask with (notifications notwithstanding), rather than being able to fire up any app I want regardless of what I happen to be doing at the time.

Full 4.4 KitKat experience

Hi there,
I recently purchased my nexus 7. I used to have an XDA account from years ago.
Basically, tonight I installed the AOSP ROM released for the nexus 7 on rootzwiki forums and I found that it had the normal launcher so it seemed like a jelly bean ROM with a white theme to it. Since then I discovered I was able to download and install Google Home and that enabled me to use the new UI with the transparent status bar and nav bar. So far I like it a lot. Its quite stable with a few bugs and it will get better.
And a video on YouTube of the ROM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8cRaxw7e1E&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Partially working Gapps http://d-h.st/EIM
I would add screenshots but the xda app doesn't let me
