I'm curious about the dialer behaviour. When I use the T9 dialer, I know a contact has several numbers. However, the dialer only gives me one number. Is that expected?
I found a very stupid work-around: I shuffled the order in which the numbers were stored. so I deleted all numbers so that the mobile number was first, and then the house/fax/work. Now the T9 only gives me the mobile number.
Do you guys have any suggestions? recommendations? tips or tricks?

I have 2 questions:
1 - When I use smart dialing from my hermes I use the direction arrows once I have found the contact and choose the work number of a contact that has an extension as +1 (999) 999-9999 x 9999 I then get a dialog saying "Invalid entry, please try again."
This same entry dials fine from speed dial or dialing from contacts, any suggestions, it's a real pain to manually dial the whole number.
2 - I have my numbers in outlook 2003 and they are formatted with the +country code format, so all numbers have a + in front of them.
When I smart dial, I can't see the last number of the phone number it only shows
+1 (xxx) xxx-xxx
Again it's really annoying as the only way I can find the number is by dialing and I usually use the smart dial to find a phone number when I am looking for someone's phone number.
BTW I have tried to edit the number and remove the + but outlook put's it back. This is actually good when travelling.

on my outlook, I have the phone num , ext and the phone will dial and wait for pickup before dialing the ext.
of course, i am not using the country code feature, so...
I would be happy with that behavior.
If I could change the font to be smaller in the phone application at least I could see the whole number.

is there a way to show the number you are dialing if it is a contact. My display does not until i completely dial and then show the number and area code.

if your using the HTC dialer it does. i don't know about winmo dialer tho. i'm guessing it does not, and that is what your using.
I use Outlook and have multiple numbers in various contacts and behind the phone number I sometimes add a persons name (222) 222-2222-Joe. With WM it can distinquish between the numbers and letters, and will just dial the number, but with Android, it replaces the letters for "Joe" with numbers and then tries to dial that long number. The result is that I get a message that tells me the number is not a valid number. I hate to have to go back thru 1200 contacts and remove all the names behind numbers to keep Android dialing properly. Anyone have an easy solution? Thanks

He's talking about T9 dialers. The Nexus 4 with stock Android doesn't do that but with CyanogenMod or an app from the market you can.
There is a T9 dialer apk, but it only works on deodexed ROMs.
The case is that I use phone to talk a lot, I type numbers (not automaticly putting them as my contacts) and phone.
Than I want to search the log call by this unknown number.
T9 not fully solves the problem because it only search through numbers in contact list not in call log.
I use exDialer - but I wonder if there is a possibility to modify build in Nexus 4 app dialer to got this feature.
I would also pay for having feature of recording calls (like in S III).

When trying to get a number from within the numpad (in the dialer), most of the time I get the wrong number.
What I mean is: open the dialer, digit the numbers to write the contact name with T9 (for example "73837" for "Peter") I get the Peter home number.
My "Peter" contact has two numbers: mobile and home. Mobile is set as "default" in contact detail.
Anyway, as I type "73837" I just get the entry for his home number.
My Xc is updated to latest firmware.
Can I change that? How can I set a contact *very* default number?
