I came across this thread a couple of weeks ago, link. And while I know and understand it is for the other versions of the Note 3, has anyone taken a shot or played around with this? I can't help but wonder if this has been tried or attempted?
Negative, we have a locked bootloader

So.... long story short I had to sbf my dx. I followed a guide on rootzwiki that ended with me only booting into bootloader. After some Googling I found out that I need to install an operating system. I thought sbfing did that, but I proceeded with a guide from androidforums and re-sbfed. Still stuck in bootloader. Here's what it says...
Bootloader
30.04
Err:A5,70,70,00,1F
MEM_MAP Blank
Service Req'd
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
What do I do?

What SBF did you use?
And what was your system version before you attempted SBFing?

I was on the .621 then I rooted and flashed cherrygum ics. After that I changed my boot image and boot animation. I couldn't boot. Could not get past the boot animation and couldn't boot into cwm. So I SBFed to the .602 file.

If you want to root, after you have flashed to .621 you have to SBF to .604 via Linux. (Note: If you don't flash 604 via Linux it will screw up your radios.)
From .604 you can root and flash roms.

I just rooted by sbfing in Linux to the milestone x sbf file and then installed boosted ics.
Should I go and sbf to .621 then .604?
Can't test the radios as I'm not on Verizon... and I'm trying to sell or trade this puppy.

The whole phone is pristine except a mark on the left part of the bezel and a scratch on the power button.

Make sure you SBF to the correct version.

So I decided to restore my Nandroid of Stock ROM so I could upgrade it to 4.2.2. Now I have lost Root. Problem is when I try to enter Recovery I get the Android dude with the red triangle and it says "No Command" underneath it. How do I get back to recovery? I've tried searching but haven't gotten the answer. Thanks in advance!

if you flashed the official 4.2.2, it replaced your recovery with the stock recovery(android dude w/the red triangle) and you lost root. all you have to do is flash a custom recovery via fastboot then flash a custom rom or the su binaries.

so you have used the Nandroid of Stock ROM?
as stated above you can get a custom recovery back, then flash a kernel or a root package. should be fairly easy, to get back no worries!

Any instructions for this? I use a Mac computer and the instructions I've seen are for windows. I'm not a Noob but am a little unfamiliar with ADB and Fastboot.

Read this. Supposedly, a guy has unlocked a RAZR HD. This MAY also work on similar Motorola devices, ex the RAZR M. Just a quick heads up. Things can only get better from here.

"Today, Dan "Djrbliss" accomplished a feat that was said to be impossible. He exploited Motorola's 256 bit encrypted bootloader for the DROID RAZR M, DROID RAZR HD and Atrix HD. Many have tried all over the world and failed. Dan has proven yet again that he is a force to be reckoned with. We would nothing if it was not for this altruistic man. I tip my hat an say thank you once again for giving us everything that you do."

If I recall, a RSD would erase all evidence of rooting, but the device will remain unlocked until a fast boot command is run. Maybe I can finally fix my phone

I hope so too. Idk why but it boots into fastboot mode every time. I need to manually enter the boot menu and pick normal or whatever. Let's see what happens tomorrow though

I bet we will somehow be able to unlock the root checker and rewrite its code to signify that 0/0 means rooted/once rooted. (Not really but a funny thought.)

And while we're discussing the boot loader exploit, I highly suggest everyone that uses this exploit, if it becomes available, should drop a few dollars to djrbliss. The man gave us root AND a potential bootloader unlock. If you can't, no big deal. He could be facing legal issues judging by Motorola's track records. I'm sure in their eyes he's public enemy no. 1. He's sticking his neck out for our fun, hook him up.

I'm sorta new to the RAZR M still (came from HTC Rezound). Will this be same as S-OFF in a way? Also, will this allow us to replace the recovery on the phone with CWM or TWRP? Pretty exciting news!
Basically, yes. You will have bypassed security enabling you to flash unsigned zips or firmware as well as replace recovery. No in that it may not be reversible as easily if at all.
So, if we want to wait on this and block any OTA updates for now, can that be done without root? I am not ready to void my warranty just yet, and I can imagine Moto pushing an OTA soon to fix this exploit.
The reason I'm asking is because I want to fastboot the entire 4.3 image to my tablet and start clean but I'm afraid that if the bootloaders are different I won't be able to install the custom recoveries, Philz CWM, or CWM touch for example.
Thanks in advance.

No, old one is LJ12, new one is MD03.
I use TWRP 2.5, and it works fine on the new bootloader.

I'm using phipz cwm and it works fine on new boot loader but every time a reboot room it it says ROM wants to flash stock recovery and you have to press prevent flash or no allow flash.

Thanks for the quick reply, I think I'm gonna stick with TWRP for now until CWM gets updated.
