I was at thinking of purchasing a Gear watch to go with my Note 3. I am stock unrooted but use Nova Prime. This means I cannot use the Samsung Accuweather widget on my phone. I noticed the Gear gets its weather info from Accuweather. Will the Gear still get weather info when my phone is not running the Accuweather widget from the stock launcher?
Maybe someone could try it? Best Buy guy had no idea.
Thanks!

Nobody tried this yet?

I don't have a gear, but widgets are just front-ends for data, they don't provide the information themselves. The gear wouldn't ask a widget for this info. It should work regardless of launcher.
I am using gear with go launcher on the phone. The weather works fine on the gear because it updates itself from the weather info on the lock screen

My lock screen has a pin.no weather.

Shouldn't matter, the gear will get weather from an underlying service.

Just like the Spen services, the Gear services have nothing to do with Touchwiz.

hi, yes it will work ( and yes you can use a Accuweather widget ,see my screenshots ) ..! Been using it for about two weeks now no problems.
First of all,i have also Nova prime with the Gear( stock, unrooted ) and can see my weather updates on Gear,no problems.!
what i did was place the relevant stock (Accuweather ) widget on my Note 3 screen ,
now when i update weather ( i enable location, every time i update, manually,my personal choice , otherwise extra battery drain etc etc )
Open /tap widget on your Note 3 screen and then ,bottom right corner (small circle, is update icon )
Either i am connected to gear via bluetooth,so it will update straight away or whenever its connected.Works 100 %
look at my screenshots !!
good luck

I managed to overwrite the stock weather widget from the Samsung Apps with a different style but i'd like to go back to the original weather widget. Any ideas if this is possible?

if you go to settings-applications-manage applications and choose the widget from there you may see an option which says ''Uninstall updates''
this is how it works in SGS but I am not sure about sgs2. it should work the same. just give it a try...
What warfanax said. I also updated, but the 'new' weather clock was broken - no locations were recognised. I uninstalled and got my old widget back (which is much better because it can be resized).

I have S4 with a very nice widget called Briefing I can't find it on my Note3?
is it removed or replaced ? or I just can't find it?
You can backup it with any buackup app as an APK then send it to the note 3 and install it

Briefing Alarm on Note 3
Hi.
Does any one have the Galaxy S3 or S4 clock apk that can be installed on Galaxy Note 3 in order to get the 'briefing alarm'?
i took the clock app from my SGS3, but the briefing option is still missing.
i also tried to restore the alarms, but when i want to edit them, they FC the clock app.
so i would guess, its not the clock app. maybe there is something else missing?! =(
did u ever get this working?
I would like to know how to get this working as well.

How do you add a settings shortcut for battery and wifi manager on the home screen? I've been scouring through the widgets and nothing seems to appear, normally with all other phones a "settings" widget is available and you get to choose which settings you want a link to.
Thanks

i was using the galaxy note ii for a while and loved settings widget/shortcut. i moved on to the galaxy note 3 on a different carrier. i also have sm-n9005. both note 3s do not have the settings widget. it is frustrating. what i recommend is installing action launcher by chris lacy. it will add 2 widgets to the widget launcher/menu. choose the activities widget. the list of apps and settings that populates is more extensive than the note ii's version. there you can add bluetooth, data usage, wifi, and tethering one by one. after creating all the shortcuts i needed, uninstalled action launcher. remember to keep touchwiz as your default launcher in the beginning of the process.
(on a side note, action launcher is great. i even purchased the pro key. however, i just don't like the way apps look in folders. in addition, 1x1 widgets do not align properly with regular app icons sometimes. as for 4 row widgets, it automatically adds margins/padding so they look more align with other same sized widgets. some 4 row widgets on touchwiz go edge to edge which is annoying. in regards to the s pen features, air command did not pop up on action. honorable mention, shutters is a great action feature. last mention, i don't use action on the note 3.)
Hello everyone, does anyone know how to activate the dynamic clock and calendar app icon on Samsung galaxy S8 on apps drawer. My phone is not rooted and I have desperately looked everywhere to activate, but I cannot find the answer anywhere. I used to have it in my old S4 and S5 in Kusham ROMs but I don't want to root the phone yet as is only one month old any help would be much appreciated. Note please I don't want alternative like for example Nova launcher or any launcher at all to use.
Quick question, on my s6 even with nova prime I had the ability to use the Samsung weather widget.
I'm actually quite happy with how stock touchwiz is but randomly i thought lemme install nova, and go to find the weather widget is no longer available. Has anyone got it to work? Or is the only other choice is to use a different app?
I have the s8+
Many thanks.
Do, I can't use the Samsung Weather Widget when running Nova Launcher on S7. I use Beautiful Widgets and select their time and weather widget.

Thank you for a the suggestion guys, just read on a reddit that Samsung is blocking 3rd party apps. I've been messing with beautiful widgets and for now I'm happy with it.
