Help noon compiling beanstalk - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm trying to compile beanstalk for d800 att. I can get it to build, flash and boot but it has no service. Missing imei, apn and no signal except wifi. Any help for a beginner on what to look at, or change when compiling to make it compatible would be appreciated. I also tried efs backup and restore, as well as hidden phone menu and set for gsm but nothing would stick

if the phone was flashed before going to a different rom then the qpst settings dont need to be changed, if the rom you changed to is aosp then you need the data fix for cm7/miui but if not and your data isnt working then you need to set your proxy settings again, thats iff your on a proxy plan. but if not on a proxy plan then somehow the qpst settings did get messed up and you need to double check them on a touchwiz based roms.
dangit, sry mods i didnt realize this was a old thread resurrected.

[Q] Signal Loss after Kernel Change

Hello XDA Developers,
I was trying to install a custom ROM on my Galaxy S4 deivce (SPH-L720). I successfully flashed the ROM through CWM. I installed the Google Edition ROM that was somewhere in the forums under Android Development.
But after reading the thread, it seemed that many people were have success with a kernel known as "AGAT".
After about 4-5 minutes of using the ROM, my signal and LTE went away, so I decided to flash that kernel as well. However, now I don't get any signal on any ROM. I flashed the stock kernel through Odin (I was trying to see if that would work), but no luck yet.
Any advice or tips?\

UPDATE:
I restored it to the stock firmware and used TriangleAway. I took it to the Sprint store and the guy fixed it up for me in about 30 seconds.
Ya he probably just updated the prl and profile.

Do you know how to install the AGAT kernel? I really want Google Edition, but I will wait if I have too.
You have to install the kernel right after flashing the rom...then wipe dalvik/cache and fix permissions. Worked great for me..

Does it matter whether it is on my sd card or if the kernel is located in my internal storage?

hi, this same thing happened to me and I've gone to 3 different sprint stores and none of them knew what I was talking about. my question is, how do you use the dial code you mentioned if the phone has no network connection? I've tried to go back and flash different rom's but nothing has worked. I'm using TWRP, AGAT 4.0, and the stable google rom. any help would be appreciated, I'm currently without a phone.

You're not *actually* calling anyone. It's sort of like command prompt for your PC. But instead of command prompt you use the dial pad It WILL work and it takes less than 30 seconds.

NO SMS

Hi guys I've had a on going issue that I though I would give another try at fixing.
I have unlocked my phone and am using a UK Vodafone sim and everything works fine when I use the stock rom
If I use an AOSP (I currently have slimbean build 2 installed) I am able to receive SMS but not send. I get the error "sending failed"
I have enable GSM using Xshortcut
I used HiAPN to get the APN
I'm using the MF9 baseband after downgrading then re-updating to get the unlock.
I have 3G internet.
Would it be possible to export the settings used in stock for SMS and port them to the AOSP rom?
I have tried using chopsms to fix the problem but that didnt work
I'm really out of ideas
All I need is to be able to send an SMS on Vodafone UK
Sorry for also posting this in the apps section as well. I cant see how I can delete it
fingers crossed
Thanks
Jamie
I ran into a similar problem when I used an aokp rom, check out my thread on the domestic unlock and look for nicotheandroidguy 's suggestions for aosp/aokp. I ended up just running sacs rom instead of slimbean
Also are you setting it back to gsm/umts AFTER you install slimbean? I found whenever I did a wipe and install I had to tinker again, reset to gsm, reinstall hiapn etc.

I'm testing out sacs now. Seems interesting even though its based on stock. I do all the tinkering after in install slimbean but no joy

Flashing custom rom- does it wipe modem?

I recently switched from rogers to wind, and to do so, I needed to enable the two extra frequencies for penta band, which I have already done.
This said, I worry that if I flash a custom rom, it will wipe my modem and I won't be able to connect to wind's network anymore.
I do have a backup of the original via QPST, but would like to know before messing anything up.
Thanks!
Flashing a Rom does not touch the modem. It may mess up your apn settings though so if you have problems make sure they're set up correctly.

Back from G3 need help

Just returned the D850 I had because I could never get the quick remote to function correctly like my G2 and the screen was subpar in all respects minus the resolution. Anyway I like my G2 better except for the inability to run ROMs other than stock. Every ROM I flash I can't get LTE and can't send a text but can revieve them. I've flashed lots of times back and forth with the factory tots and all is fine. Even flash stock rooted kk ROMs in twrp and it's good. Flask CM11 or the G3 and others and it's always the same deal. I have tried flashing the kk modem and entering in other APNs other than the ATT Phone one that works with the ATT ROM no dice. When I search for mobile operators I never see LTE. On the G3 rom I have tried deleting the LTE apks and modding the build prop as suggested. I just can't figure this out. TIA for any help
