Hi all,
I am using capychimp ROM v2.0 based on Roger Eclair.
I have moved my app to SD card as I only have 60MB internal memory left.
But after I did that, I now cannot upgrade/install most of the app 'cause of "Insufficient storage" error.
I have 512MB ext3 and only move the app folder to SD. I follow the instruction here: http://code.google.com/p/android-roms/wiki/A2SD
Any1 has any ideas abt this
right, after 1 hour of searching I find out that I need to clear cache partition through fastboot, re-flash recovery image then clear dalvik cache also and reboot. Now my cache is 60% full, still a huge amount isn't it #:-S, but thanks God everything seems to be fine now, a bit laggy :-<
Hi, I have installed APP2SD following this guide : here
I have partitioned my SD card with FAT32 and 500mb of EXT3.
What's next? How do i start using the memory? How to install apps to SD/move apps to SD?
Thanks,
Povo.
Just read carefully the thread.
You just install apps and see with TitaniumBackup if your ext partition decreased size. Internal memory will be used too, but in small amounts. There is also this link about dalvick cache.
When I install apps, the phone memory decreases, ext3 partition stays the same in TitaniumBackup.
Maybe it should be ext2 not ext3?
Well, I have ext3 and works fine. There should be something else. Try again with the one that moves dalvick cache
I decided to just install the 2.2 Custom ROM, works great! Thanks for the help
Been using cognition custom rom but now it does not seem to auto wipe. Due to battery issues, I'd like to wipe and then reinstall the rom, and then restore using titanium backup thats located on the sd card to get all my apps and settings back. I need to leave the ext sd card alone. Which option on Clockwork recovery gives me this option?
If I do a factory reset and davlik cache clear does that still leave my sd card alone?
Thanks
Factory reset, dalvik cache, format system (in mounts section) just to be sure. Then you can flash the rom. Your external sdcard remains intact (as well as most of your internal storage - only system partitions get wiped).

Hi,
By any chance, could you have made a nandroid that saved itself to your internal storage?

As you know this phone doesn't have ext sd card
I want to ask
If i wipe data and cache from recovery, is every apps will be deleted too? How about every folder on this phone? (Newbie LG user)
Sorry for the english

It won't wipe your internal SD card if your wondering unless you select internal wipe...why are you wiping just the cache and data anyways? .....be careful before wiping things
