Does anyone know how to disable the call forwarding "activation" notification and the call forwarding "deactivation" pop ups? These are tasks I use in Tasker, and the pop ups are annoying...

There's an Xposed mod called notifyclean. I have not used it, but by the description it does exactly what you want.

Yeah, I've been using that module to hide notifications in the notification panel. To the best of my knowledge it doesn't block pop-ups. If it does, I haven't figured it out. The notification I'm getting is annoying pop-up on my home screen.
But thanks anyhow...
Yep that is what I am talking about. It sucks but this is mainly why I used tasker. Now it does nothing for me that other applications dont do. Totally had to get away from automatic call fowarding.

Using Google voice. Is there any way I can disable my text messages from going through voice and instead using stock android messaging? Its really annoying.

Just go into the Google Voice settings and then sync and notifications. There you can disable the notifications.
do i uncheck "inbox notifications"? i already had "text messages" unchecked.
Wondering the same thing. I don 't have anything checked and everything is still routing to my GV inbox. Aggravating.
Go to www.google.com/voice
Click on Settings in the top right corner
Find your Sprint phone in the list of phones and click Edit
Toggle the check box for "Receive text messages on this phone."
(I don't know if this works or not but someone can try it )

Everything is going to be in your Google voice inbox, you can't change that. Unselect notifications in your phone's Google voice app.

This is exactly what you need to do.
I had this problem yesterday.
First, go into the Google Voice app on your phone and turn off all notifications.
Then, goto voice.google.com and change the setting Matt2053 is talking about.
Works perfect for me now.

Maybe im not understanding you, but is that not what you wanted?
You say texts are now coming to your text app, and that you are only getting notifications for the text app.
Sounds like its working normally to me.

Correct ... but on Google voice app and web site there is still a copy of the text I have received or sent to someone ...
Now my question is will there always we 2 copies as long as I have my Sprint number linked to Google voice?
If so that blows but I guess its a small price to pay...

Yes, there will always be two copies.
But honestly thats partly why i love having it integrated.
You can check your texts from your phone or your computer. You can even send texts using your number from your computer if you wanted to.
Its neat!

And after thinking about it makes sense that there would be a back up using GV.

After linking google voice to my sprint account it says google voice is using 27% of my battery.... not cool.
I don't mind getting messages via gvoice, i'm just trying to receive messages via stock app. It just sucks having to go thru gvoice to access my texts.

Hmm, well I get them in both. The instructions posted earlier were for disabling it in the stock app.

You have to enable your phone to receive texts in the settings under google.com/voice. Make sure its checked. But you will be double notified, which annoys me.

I'm not using Google Voice because of this. I used to use it because of the visual voicemail and it being converted to text, but I don't want it running everything on my phone. It needs much more customization.
Anybody know of a texting app that you can quick compose from the lock screen? I had one on my iPhone and by pressing the volume key it brought up the quick compose box.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
handcent has this feature. And also the same layout as the iphone!
chomp, handcent, and go i believe all have the ablity
Handcent does this for sure.
I use GoSMS, but Handcent and Chomp achieve this too. I tried Handcent and it had some really nice features, I just didn't like the appearance of the app...just personal preference. I haven't tried Chomp, however it looks nice...Just too lazy lol.
I have handcent but how do you set it so the quick reply is used from the lock screen?

I use GoSMS. Im not aware of any feature like this. Handecent or Chomp might have it.

GOSMS does have this option. its in the notifications settings, enable popup windows. then go into default notifications, and check 'unlock screen' and 'screen on'
it doesnt leave the lockscreen locked afterward, but quick reply is cool
an alternative if you prefer to use the stock sms app, you can use an add-on called SMS popup and it has this feature too. i prefer sms pop up myself

I think this should do it.
handcent>settings>notification settings>popup settings>show over lock screen fix
hope it helps.

I was wondering if there was a way to just disable notifications. I guess the notifications are tied in with the sound and I like to use ChompSMS but I don't get any sound when I get a text and I realized it's because when you turn notification off in the native messenger, it also turns off the sound. Is there a way around this? I also thought about freezing the messenger app but not sure if that would prevent me from receiving texts all together.
EDIT: I froze the native messenger app but couldn't get texts after that.
EDIT: Apparently it was the ROM I was on. My friend was able to disable it and still get sound to work when he got a notification in Chomp. I changed ROMs and it's working now.

I seem to have noticed that when using "Quiet Mode" that I don't see that text message popup appear on the screen. I checked to make sure I didn't accidentally turn off that popup, so it appears that Quiet Mode for some reason blocks that?
Anyone else notice?
Doesn't quist ignore all notification and calls unless you add specific numbers for it to ignore

That isn't exactly what I mean...
The little popup that drops down from the notification bar when you receive a text message doesn't seem to show when I put the phone in Quiet Mode.
Well yea quiet mode is meant as a do not disturb. .... if you want the notification You can't use quiet mode. Only maybe if you add a specific contact for quiet mode to ignore then maybe you will receive the pop up. ...

I have been looking for the setting to turn of the emergency alerts (e.g. Amber, Weather) on my Tmobile H918. For the best of me, I just cannot find the settings anymore. At one point in the past I have seen it. Is anyone having the same issue? thanks!

Thanks. That's the first thing I looked. Unfortunately I don't see it anywhere. It's weird. It's like it's hidden.
Its in the messaging app settings.
Thanks! I was playing around and found it. It doesn't show under the Google messages, which is the app I use. I had diabled the default messaging app. That's why I couldnt see it earlier.

Aha, I had removed Messaging with Titanium Backup and use Android Messages as my SMS app (I rarely use SMS anyway since my number is with Google Voice), and I was wondering why I didn't get the presidential alerts in class when everyone else's phone went off. I guess I found a way to opt out
EDIT: Actually just looked at your image, not knowing what settings there actually were for it, and TIL you can actually opt out of these by default. Interesting.
