I successfully installed CM on my D802 and when I checked the CM updates section in settings it said an update was available, I downloaded the new nighty through it and press the reboot and install update in settings. My phone rebooted in recovery mode, the install was successfull but when my phone booted it was not updated and it showed the previous nighty installed. I also tried wiping the cache and flashing the new version but then my phone got stuck in the LG logo and I had to go back to stock ROM. How do I update to new versions of CM without losing any apps and settings etc? Please help good people

After I was presented with a system update about a week ago my nexus s entered a boot loop, not knowing why I tried to restart it a couple of types via removing the battery. That didn't work so I entered the Fastboot mode and tried to go into recovery but I couldn't do that because I was then presented with a exclamation mark like picture on my Nexus S, My phone was rooted before because I wanted to install Miui rom, then when I went back to stock rom and everything seemed to work fine, but when I tried to change my rom again it said I wasn't rooted but on my bootsceen it says I'm unlocked. I also did a permission test, from here I don't know what to do if anyone could help me I'd be very grateful.

Alrighty, I flashed Clockwork recovery, now thats left is to flash another rom.
Okay well i searched for a while on the forum and on google and could not find a answer to my problem. I recently got a new nexus 4 and decided to root it and put the rom liquidsmooth. Everything was working fine, i did the backups and the rooting went fine. I am using Team Win's recovery menu. So i preformed a factory reset as it said in the instructions to install LiquidSmooth, i have gapps and evrything downloaded and ready to flash but after flashing liquid smooth and Gaaps failing to flash i preformed another reset so i would not get stuck in a boot loop. i rebooted the phone and liquidsmooth was not installed, i then tried to boot the android menu and go to down to recovery mode but every time i go to it i get a nexus icon and a lock pad and its stuck and does not load.
I bought the nexus4 from the playstore last week, 16gb model and my carrier is wind mobile.
Try reflashing twrp

Sounds like you wiped the SD card. Did you format system or data??
I'm having a rather weird issue right now. I've been running Victorator's Unofficial CM10.1 builds for a while and a couple of days ago I switched to the Official CM10.1 build for the I9505 (nightly of June 10th). Yesterday I updated manually to the June 11th nightly build (meaning I downloaded the zip file and installed it from Philz Touch Recovery). Today however, I tried updating to the nightly build of June 12th through the phone itself instead of manually downloading it and installing through the recovery.
The problem I have now is this:
- I updated to the new nightly build (June 12th) through Settings -> About -> CyanogenMod Updates
- The phone rebooted into Philz Touch Recovery and completed the update as far I know.
- It rebooted again but it was stuck on the boot logo (Samsung SIV GT-I9505).
- I pulled the battery and booted into the Recovery again
- The recovery is in an update loop, I can't wipe anything or do a factory reset.
- Pulled the battery again and booted into the recovery, it still wants to update (I tried multiple reboots from that point on).
So basicly, I can't boot into Android since the update probably failed, booting into the recovery gives me that update process every time. I can't access the functions of the recovery at all, I only get the update screen again and again. I'm at work now so I can't really do anything about it I guess, unless somebody has some tips? If not I'll try to install the Stock ROM again at home through Odin, since that's the only solution in my head right now. Hopefully it'll work after that, but to be honest, I'm not updating on the phone itself anymore, I'm just gonna do it manually on the PC from now on.

I just got home and I immediately booted into download mode to flash the stock firmware through Odin, but it keeps failing on me.
On the other hand, when I boot into the recovery it now says that the firmware upgrade encountered an error and that I need to recover the phone through Kies. I'm now trying to flash a custom recovery again, but Odin freezes up in the middle of the process
Ok, another USB-port, USB-cable, some battery pulls and driver re-installs later I managed to flash the stock rom again. It didn't boot into the stock rom though, it was stuck in a boot loop. Then I flashed a custom recovery again (this one) and I'm not getting the update loop anymore. I restored a backup I made yesterday (thank God I made one) and the phone is working again.
Instead of updating to the latest nightly build of CM10.1 on the phone itself, I'm now gonna try doing it manually.
So happy right now

From other comments I've seen, the cm update feature causes problems. You are best off manually flashing updates.
Trick: you can create an Odin flashable recovery by:
- unzip the recovery installation zip file
- create a tar file of the recovery.img using 7zip.

Yesterday I was normally on the cm11 nightlies, and decided to go back to 4.2.2 stock tmobile, just to update to kk . I loaded my stock backup, and all went fine. It downloaded an update, did not say what just system update and after that it restarted to twrp recovery. Tried rebooting to system, but all it does is boot back to twrp. What I saw is that it reverted back from 2.6.4 to 2.6.3 version. Flashed the 2.6.4 version from my folder, and the same happens. Tried restoring my backups, taking long but to no avail. Right now I have a bootloop to twrp and don't know what to do. My computer doesn't even recognize phone. Not even usb otg shows up.

There are threads in this very section that will explain what you have to do. Note, never take an ota with a custom recovery!

Problem solved. I downloaded 4.4.2 stock rom to my otg and mounted on my phone.then flashed from there.
So I have installed the 6.0 CWRecovery in my Note 3 (hlr) in order to install the newest CWM12(7.8), I managed to install the CWRecovery touch 6.0 using the app known as Flashfy, it worked fine and so I managed to install CM mod 12 (I have some problem with the stock Music app, which crashes all the time). I saw a new update (8.1) and I wanted to update it again, but the boot does not load the recovery mod and thus, it just keep on a recovery boot loop. The only way to get out of such loop is to load the download mode, and then it boots the CW12. I have tried reinstalling the recovery mode using the flashfy and rom manager, but it does not work at all, even when using the said programs to flash the ROM itself. What should I do? Thanks!

Try downloading the TWRP...tar file for your phone (http://teamw.in/project/twrp2 - click top right for your phone) and flash it using Odin - it will give you TWRP Recovery.
Also go to Chainfire's site and get SuperSU.zip (http://download.chainfire.eu/695/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.45.zip) so you can flash it in Recovery.
I flash the ROM, then GApps (I use PA version) then SuperSU in one flash session, then I Restore my Data partition from my nandroid backup and always good to go after that.
