WIFI Problem - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Dudes,
I'm on Echo Rom v1 Slim, but is same on Stock Rom...
I've only get 1MB per secound at download and also 1mb per secound on upload, my network is 50000 Kbits download and 10000 Kbits Upload speed.
I had SGS4 and on Android 4.2.2 I realy got 4,5MB per secound at download and 1MB per secound at upload. All was fine, I was happy :fingers-crossed: I updated to 4.3 and got same s*** as now on the Note 3.
Anyone know how to fix this issue? I have FritzBox Fon 7390 and Wifi Range Extender from Sitecom.
All other Tablets and Laptops got full speed at 2,4Ghz Wireless.

I have disabled the 5Ghz band, because my Note loses the conection using it. Thats the reason why I use only 2,4Ghz.
Can't I get more download speed on 2,4Ghz?
You have very fast network dude
What router are you using?

The 2.4GHz-band is very busy with more users on WiFi; the 5GHz-band is NOT used very often by users, hence the speed!
My router is a Linksys EA6500

I am confused. Did you not know the stock froyo did wifi tethering? Am I not understanding completely?

You're not understanding completely. My desktop computer does not have a built in wi-fi adapter, so I would have to use a wireless USB network adapter to get internet on this machine. Using this method, I was able to use the internet from my ISP (Cox Communications) rather than resort to using T-mobile's 3G network.
Let me do a flowchart for you:

Yeah, okay I did understand.
The phone can tether the cellular signal or the wifi signal.
It was implemented in froyo.
What is really cool is how fast it is. My computer is hard wired into my home network and when I activate tethering and disable the wired connection, the difference in speed tests and pings is imperceptible. They are both the same. Very impressive.
I like what you've done. You are tethering your computer to your phone via USB and then using your phone's WiFi connection to connect to your home's WiFi router, then on to Cox and the Internet.
In your diagram, the Internet doesn't lie between your phone and the computer. The Internet lies beyond your ISP. Otherwise nice.
Lastly, the tethering features were added by 2.2 as pointed out already.
Edit: added a diagram

Tips: Speeds are best when screen is left on (for some reason speed is bogged down dramatically when the screen is off - might be a power saving feature).

By default wifi is set to sleep when the screen is off. Have you disabled this in wifi advanced settings?
Took me a few minutes to understand...
The point to note is: "tethering shares whatever internet connection is available"
1) Connect to the wifi network using your nexus one.
2) Share the internet via USB tethering.

Your Note 3 WiFi max speed?

I get only 65Mbps link which disappoints me when router have 3 antennas and supports at least 300Mbps. Laptop easily connects at 270Mbps Link speed and I get 100Mbps download speed (limited by my internet provider). Any ways to get higher WiFi speed with Note 3? What is your link speed (you can check it in WiFi settings by clicking on network name)?
I get 433Mbps connected to my AC router.

What app are you guys using to transfer files to and from your Note 3 ?
I forgot this supports AC, maybe time to upgrade router!
Anyway, for now I'm using 5GHz band on my WNDR3700 and get a rate of 150Mbps which results in an internet speed of

My internet connection is 120Mb.
Wireless N on 5GHz via RT-N56U, link speed is 150Mbps and speedtest got me 104Mbps. Mind you my internet connection is 110Mbps.

I figured out my problem. For unknown reason Note3 selected to connect to slower G network, not N. Solved by setting different names for G and N networks and connecting to N manually now I get 150Mbps link. My laptop somehow prefered N network if the name is same, but not Note3.
I must be getting the worse speeds ever approx 22 down and around 2 up. I have a 30 down speed line. Test conducted next to router. N9000 Cisco

Android Bluetooth tethering, speed capped to 700 kbps?

Hi folks,
I'm trying to use my HTC one for Bluetooth tethering (via Bluetooth PAN), so I can access internet on my Windows tablets.
It works but I can't get any speed higher than 0.7 Mbit/s
Yeah, Wi-fi/USB tether works fine and I get way better speed, but I want to use Bluetooth over Wifi due to it's consuming less power and can be initiated from outside of the phone. Plugging USB cables also can be a hassle.
My setups are as follows:
Internet <--3G/Wifi--> Android (HTC One) <--BT Tether--> Windows 8.1 PC (Dell Venue 8 Pro)
Both HTC One and Dell Venue Pro 8 have Bluetooth v4.0, so I don't think the hardware being limiting factor here, under Windows network status I can see 3 Mbit/s link
When tested with Speedtest.net APP on my HTC One I can get a full speed as usual
But when my DVP8 is tethtered to my HTC one via BT this is what I'm getting:
{

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The 0.7mbps speed is consistent, I repeated the speed test several times. Which leads me to believe the BT throughput is capped for some reason.
I also have tested this on my Win8 Desktop PC and I'm getting exactly the same result.
According to Wikipedia the theoretical limits for Bluetooth 4.0 is indeed 3Mbit/s, So I'm expecting 1-1.5mbit/s speed here. (It's the typical 3G bandwidth I can get on my area anyway).
Any thoughts? Any experience or possible fix are welcome.
Thanks!
Found the culprit, the 700kbps cap actually only happens when wi-fi is active. When I use 3G I'm getting 1.5mbps as I expected. Thanks case closed.
Hello WizzWr.
As you mentioned above, when Wi-Fi is deactivated, we can get upto 1.5 ~1.6 mbps. right?
I wonder why the speeds can't go over 700kbps when Wi-Fi is on. Do you have any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
me too, Moto C 4G, bluetooth PAN tether some times 1.5mbps , some other time 500kbps
same here. bt tethering LG G2 (bt 4.0, LOS17) to Huawei P2 Pro (bt 4.2, Android 9). 0.45Mbps when Huawei share wifi internet via bt, and 1.55Mbps when sharing mobile internet via bt.
Maybe your wifi and bluetooth are using the same 2.4GHz band that's why they're interfering with each other. If your wifi router supports it, try switching to a 5GHz channel.

why is wifi speed getting slower?

everytime i try to download something or use internet on my phone, the wifi is toooo slow.. but when i turn off the wifi and turn back on,
then i get higher speed. but after a while it will decrease again :/
i have 150mpbs internet
i9505 S4 omega v28 4.4.2 (before this had 4.3 pyrana was also same)
any ideas?
here is the test image, i just did the last 3 tests

Or it's your router or it's your modem.
problem in your router
there is nothing wrong with the router, making tests also with my wifes s4 mini but it never happens.
if i dont use the phone for a while, then do something, the wifi speed is really less.
then i reconnect to wifi, it works good
see the last 2 tests please
It's maybe a combination of your router and the s4. You can easily test this when you are connected on other wifi's.
Or maybe it's solved when changing your modem. It's the one or the other.
Why don't you check your link speed that you wifi is actually connected to you're router? Just cause you got a 150Mbps router doesn't mean the link speed is 150Mbps. Within 6 meters of my crappy telstra (technocolor) router which is 300 Mbps gives me a link speed of only 5 Mbps @ g mode.

thanks man. tried it while the app is open, still high, ping, high upload but slow download..
No I also told you that it's probably your modem if it's not your router.

1. Reset your router. Unplug it for like 30 seconds then plug it back in.
2. Set best wifi keep options to Keep Connection and Boost Signal
3. Forget your wifi connection on your phone
4. Reconnect your phone to your wifi

Tegra Note is Haunted, disconnects internet when i enable Wifi on it.

Ji
I am using Tegra Note 7 with 4.4.2.
When ever i connect to my wifi, the internet at my home goes dead
Normaly my internet is all fine and dandy, and i can connect other devices like phones etc to my wifi.
However there is a dark mystery revolving my Xolo Tegra Note 7
When i switch on the wifi in the tablet, it makes the internet ping go higher and higher till it disconnects
Here is a screenshot of my pings

As you can see, the moment i flip the wifi button on my tablet, pings go climbing, and when i switch the wifi off, the internet becomes normal
.
This problem started 2 days ago. I use Dataone broadband from BSNL India. Why is that only my tablet causes this problem and not other devices? When i connect my phone to wifi and then connect tegra note to phone via Bluetooth internet sharing, same problem occurs.. Its like the tablet is sucking everything it connects

2spooky4me....
but have you configured VPNs in tab ?? ..
I think somehow your setup creates a n/w loop by multi-nic of tablet..
But since, I am not a Networking expert..
Can you try the same in some friends house... ( may be its your house thats haunted ) Joking :laugh:
Isolate the problem onto ISP by taking the tab to a friends house with Airtel / Reliance / any other broadband provider and then report.
Guys, iy was my GOOGLE AUTO BACKUP. Google+ had consumed 13 GB man, 13 friggin GB!!! All ym videos and photos are on Google Drive now, LOL.
