Flashify to get recovery on ATT LG G2 - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I flashed the att boot image to get twrp recovery using flashify. It worked great but now my question is if I delete flashify will it get rid of my twrp recovery? Since I now use quick boot that came with clean Rom xe 1.1 Also is the backup that I did in twrp or flashify. Sorry for the noob question but I appreciate the help greatly.

YOU should be fine....

Flashify just writes the partition. The backup was in TWRP. To confirm, check /sdcard/TWRP/Backups/ to find your backup. You can safely delete Flashify and use whatever means you'd like to boot into recovery.

Deleting Flashify shouldn't cause any problems for TWRP.

Remove CWM for TWRP?

What's the best method for removing clockwork recovery for twrp? I've heard twrp is better than the outdated clockwork recovery. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You don't remove the old recovery, you just flash a new recovery image. Do it via fastboot, or using the Goo Manager app (in the case of TWRP).
yes TWRP is definitely user friendly never looked back. Just flash it over that .img file.
Easiest way to do it download goo manager from playstore and apply it from there.
Just do it! You won't regret it.

I flashed Philz from inside TWRP. I would suggest following the instructions for TWRP then flashing Philz from there. I know that works.
Is it possible to flash Philz via flashify? And what is loki or lokied?

There is a step by step guide for TWRP. Philz is based on ClockworkMod Recovery.

Not that I know of. The files in the OP are flashable from an open recovery. I had flashed TWRP before I found this. I would not recommend using something like flashify. Use the step by step guide using adb to flash TWRP. After that use TWRP to flash this. The backups for this are huge so having USB OTG support Is very useful.

Phil's Recovery flash method?

How did you guys managed to flash Phil's CWM? There were 3 TWRP thread guide for LG G2. What did you use and what method before flashing Phil's? I hope he'll release a flashable img for his CWM.
Use this one it super easy. After that flash Philz from TWRP.

Can you send the twrp link u just used? Thanks.
I flashed TWRP first, then from within there flashed Philz, and it works perfectly. Now I can store my backups using USB-OTG. Perfect!

I used option 1. Easier is not always better. Option 1 is the safest way.

I first downloaded and installed "Recovery Tools", from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2334554
I then downloaded TWRP for my phone from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2501444. I only used this link to find TWRP
for my phone (Canadian D803). I didn't actually follow the directions on this page.
Once I had the TWRP .img file, I used Recovery Tools to flash TWRP.
I then downloaded PhilZ Touch Recovery from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2554053
I booted into TWRP Recovery and from there, flashed PhilZ Recovery. From that point on, when I boot into recovery, I get into PhilZ instead of TWRP.
I still haven't figured out how to boot into recovery using the power/volume buttons. I've tried a few times and I can't get it to work. However, Recovery Tools has a reboot option, and that works great for now. Of course, if I get into trouble and can't access this app, that option is gone
*Edit* I finally learned how to boot into recovery using the power/volume buttons! :victory: I followed the instructions given by bodom_hc here:

How in TWRP did you flash the PhilZ Recovery. I have used the "Flash Zip" file option and when when I boot back into recovery I still get TWRP?

I did the same thing. I chose "Install" in TWRP and selected PhilZ recovery. After reboot, PhilZ just came up by default. I didn't do anything else myself - I'm pretty new to this. Did I just get lucky?

[Q] LG G2 Recovery Won't Update

I have an international LG G2. I'm trying to update it to CM 11, but my CWM recovery is version 6.0.4.0 and I need 6.0.4.4. I tried updating through ROM Manager, but every time I boot into CWM, it's still version 6.0.4.0. I tried to use ROM Installer, but came across an error. I tried using Flashify to update CWM by manually downloading the CWM recovery image online, but also came across an error. Would really like to fix this problem.
I'm also having this issue on the ATT model, with the "6.0.4.5 CWM-based recovery" that came with Freegee. Trying to get the legit CWM 6.0.4.4 to flash and I can't do it.
Grab the zip file. Boot into recovery and install the zip. Never user rom manager ut doesn't work well with this phone

Zip file? I can only find the img files on CWM's official website. I tried to use Flashify to install that, but when trying to boot into recovery, the phone got stuck at bootup and I had to hard reset it and it went back to normal with the recovery still at 6.0.4.0 unfortunately.
Been using Phil's recovery lately it is built off of cwm . http://goo.im/devs/philz_touch/CWM_Advanced_Edition/d800

[Q] Recovery lost?

Hello everyone! Think that I did something kinda stupid today..but not sure. I have installed cwm recovery (philz version, latest) but today I was transfering over a backup to my pc (I removed it from phone to pc), well that was what I thought..(the file was TWRP, since it was a twrp nandroid backup and I had twrp before cwm) so later, when I tried to go to recovery, I couldn't, I tried with FreeGee, but nothing happened...so does this mean that I have lost my recovery? I tried to put the files back on phone where they was but it doesn't seem like that have helped...
So any other methods to get into recovery mode? And have I lost it by deleting a twrp file containing a backup and a twrps. file on 2kb?
P.s when I look into the TWRP folder, I don't have the twrps file....is that the problem, and what is that file? Is it loki or something?
P.S 2: My phone is working fine..
Anyone?
If you're still rooted, you could install Goo Manager, which will allow you to install a recovery.

I do have root, and I am running cloudystock 1.2 (kitkat), but can I just install a recovery since I am on a stock kitkat rom? Think I have done it now.....
What ROM did you have when you first installed cwm?
Sent from my VS980 4G using xda app-developers app
I had stock 4.2.2 rom when I first installed recovery, but I overwrited my twrp recovery and installed cwm (that too on stock 4.2.2 rom
Try installing Quick Boot (free in the Play Store.) It provides an easy way to boot into recovery. This should show whether CWM or TWRP are still on your phone.
