Hi

And I'm wondering if I can do that using an otg y-cable and stickmount app, is that possible??

Is it NTFS formatted? Apparently the stock ROM/kernel doesn't support NTFS. Try Ext4, FAT or exFAT.
it doesn't meets the power requirement , i have a seagate backup plus 1 tb external and its usb3.0 and doesn't works on usb otg , get an external powered usb port and then try connecting it, would definitely work.

[Q] usb port not detected nor will connect to windows

Hi
Have a 2012 Nexus 7. Was rooted and had stickmount on it. OTA 4.3 update came and installed. Unit appears to operate ok afterwards, except the usb port. The usb port will charge. It is not detected by windows. It will not connect to windows.
My guess is that the internal driver for the usb is corrupted, either by the update or stickmount.
Is it possible to
download the update
put it on internal storage
re-install it?
Thanks
Yes. Download firmware directly to nexus then install it. For usb use nexus media importer is better than stickmount
I'm not sure why you think NMI is better than Stickmount. Stickmount is free and I can read/write/stream to and from thumbdrives, sd and microsd cards, my wd 750Gb external hd and it supports fat, fat32, ntfs and exfat. Even if NMI has these capabilities, you still have to pay for it.

OTG flash drive issue

I've bought a Verbatim usb type-c otg flash drive with the otg option enable in the storage option. However it is not working at all. Is OPT not supporting usb type-c flash drive or I've missed some setting in option?
