I had the AT&T Galaxy S 2 but had to return it due to financial/personal temporary crisis. I'm planning on using my AT&T upgrade to get the White iPhone 4S 32GB and auctioning it (eBay style) to finance my inevitable purchase of the Samsung Galaxy Note, and was wondering if anyone had the mythical White or 32gb Version which I can't seem to find any links or purchase stories about. Any info or advice would be great. Appreciate it xD.
There has been no info on the release dates for them yet....so just have to wait
although on some sites you can pre-order them

Nope, none relate to the 32gb Variant
Has anyone heard any news at all regarding the availability of this phone within AT&T i.e. not unlocked, etc? Tx

When I was upgrading and mine to the black 32gb I asked the lady on the phone at AT&T about the white she said she thought it was coming, along with a possible red one, and a possible blue one. She said she couldn't tell for sure as she wasn't able to access the area that had that kind of info in it, but saw some sort or "place holder" for inserting other models. Take it for it it's worth, which is not much.

Since I saw this thread, I emailed my Samsung rep, who actually knows his stuff compared to our other reps.
He said that Samsung has no plans on launching a white 32 gig anytime soon. If there is a big demand for 32 gig they might reconsider.
that's a bummer.

There has to be a backstory somewhere here as this strategy makes absolutely no sense.
At some point all of the 'newbies' are going to catch on that there 16GB phones really have no more than 8GB internal memory then sales hit a brick wall.
The S4, IMO, is simply useless as a smartphone with internal memory of less than 32GB.
Thanks for passing along the info.

You know, not everyone needs more than the 9 gigs offered. Granted, I'd like to see a bit more running space on the internal side just so I don't have to clean out caches, but 32, at least for me, is overkill. I wouldn't say the S4 is useless as a smartphone @ 9 GBs. That's just going overboard. But that's just my opinion.
Your best bet at something 32GB and other than black will be if and when AT&T carries post release variants, like blue, red, etc. At least AT&T plays really closely to Sammy, so you're already with the best service provider for Samsung stuff.

We appreciate you contacting Samsung Telecommunications and being a valued customer. We understand that you want to purchase 32 GB S 4 device.
We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused. We are sorry to inform that as of 32 Gb S 4 device are not yet released. As of now only 16 GB S 4 devices are released. However please try contacting AT&T for further information on the device.
You can try contacting AT&T at 1-800-331-0500.

Also, a very helpful team of AT&T store employees looked high and low (within company inventory and presale documentation) and could find no evidence that AT&T will carry the 32 GB in white.
I'll be interested to see if the Google 16 GB version has sufficiently less bloatware. And/or if the S4 update allowing apps to SD is meeting expectations.

True, but with the S III memory problems I'd stay away from anything less than 32GB .
They are already carrying the Red Aurorara variant, of course with 16GB internal memory.

My opinion is they released the 32gb black to have the 32 option and they don't have plans for the white 32gb. Same with the rumored red and blue which will almost certainly only be in a 16gb option. Anyone who wants more storage can suck it up and buy the black 32gb is probably they're way to seeing it

Im not much of a business guru but how would it make a difference business wise to have it vs not? I mean black is a very neutral sex color vs white which seems to appeal to mostly females and yes i know some guys. And it really doesnt seem that hard to add a 32gb white i mean they basically could have the 32GB main board manufacturing line then just take those guts and throw the white body on it. Easy peasy right? So then why dont they have it along side the black one right now? over a month later...

I think you hit the nail on the head with your last question!
Marketing essentially drives the entire product life cycle in any business. That's essentially the basis of our conversation! Post-marketing drives everyone crazy, including personnel in other departments who want to move on to the 'next best thing'! IMO, it makes perfect sense to sell all 32GB variants in all of the colors for exactly the reasons you mentioned.
Sure, I could go ahead & get a 'dirty' black model instead of continuing to holding my breath for the White Frost, but as a consumer I'll play that game a bit longer.

I saw that Verizon is selling the 32gb white frost over the weekend and will be shipping them this week. Hopefully they will come to AT&T this week as well. I've been holding out for the white one as well.

damn, vzw gets white 32gb... oh well ill wait it out for next round of top tier phones.
Samsung and AT&T know that 95 percent of their customers will opt for the 16gb version of the S4. With most customers it's about price and when they are also told they can add memory with a micro sd, they definitely go with the 16gb. The reps don't inform them that apps can only be stored internally and even if they did 95 percent would still get the cheaper of the two options. Samsung won't pay the extra manufacturing costs involved with churning out multiple colors of 32gb versions for AT&T when the demand just isn't there.
Just ordered my Note 8 (3G version).
I've had the iPad mini previously and I've been wondering for a while, what is the ideal tablet/phone combo. I'm presuming that I'm not going to use the Note 8 as a phone very often, so I'm going to be carrying around 2 devices most of the time.
I've currently got a Galaxy S3 which I'm very happy with, but I do wonder if the 2 devices will be too similar. I've considered getting a small, cheap phone to use just for calls and texts and using the tablet for everything else, but I don't have the tablet with me all the time, so I do need something that has a decent browser and a camera.
I'd be keen to hear your thoughts. I'm sure this topic must have been discussed before, but I did a quick search and couldn't find anything.
I was just thinking of posting a very similar question.
I'm currently using a blackberry curve 9360. Its an OK companion as I can use it as a mobile hotspot and allow my note 8.0 to access the web through it. I love it as a communications device. Good for calls, strong signal, good battery life, small and the keyboard is great for sms and other messenger services. where it falls down is apps though. There are a few available but nothing seems to work very well.
Im weighing up the convenience of the keyboard to the benefits of useful apps at the moment. If I were to get an android phone, id need to be able to use it as a hotspot, which i think i can do, and it would need to be small enough to fit in my pocket, so about 4 inch screen maximum. There doesnt seem to be any high end devices at that screen size though, Just lite versions of their larger siblings.
My contract isnt due for renewal until december so I have a while to search and contemplate though.

Best phone/tablet combo? Padfone.
I'm using the S4 currently. Not sure there is really any device with a huge advantage when paired with the Note 8. Personally I think just sticking with Android and Samsung between the devices is best. At least this way you can use more of the Samsung share features and of course all your purchased apps on both devices.

so you use a 6 inch phone and an 8 inch tablet? What do you use one for vs the other?
I am using a Nexus 4 alongside my Note 8 Wi-Fi.
I am happy with the combo and find that almost everywhere I use my Note 8 I have good Wi-Fi.

I use this combo also, note 2 with my note 8. To answer your question, for me it's not so much a matter of designating each device to its own app per say, but more a matter of convenience. Basically, I reach for the 8 whenever I can, even for texting (mighty text), but when it's just quicker/easier, I go with the 2.

i've got the sprint galaxy note 2 and a verizon s4. i kept sprint when i picked up verizon (just before killing unlimited data) b/c i'm on a $50/mo sero plan. i should have gotten the note 2 for verizon also. s4 is nice, but i like the bigger screen on the note 2. maybe i'll get the note3 on verizon as long as they're root & unlock it and then sell my s4. i really should just drop sprint as their service in my area is total crap.
I use a S3 and a S4. I like the phones for all the things they do so well. The Note 8 was a impulse purchase due to AT&T having a bundling promotion when I purchased the S4. It replaces a Tab 2 7" and it far superior in display and I find the S Pen to be a real joy for use with spread sheets, drawing programs and the like.

Sprint Galaxy S4 and WiFi Note 8, although looking to get rid of the tablet because I just haven't found a use for it. I do have games and movie/tv apps on the Note because of screen size.
Previously I had the Note II and Note 8 but gave the Note II to my son (he has way bigger hands) and got the S4 for myself, which I'm really happy with.

For those interested, the gold note 5 is available on TMO now.

Bummer. I wish ATT would have this soon.
The one I wanted...but on vzw. GF got the edge+ in gold and the front is gorgeous
Kind of annoying they didn't have this 2 weeks ago when I got my white one.
Anyone familiar with jump on demand here? I have the blue note 5, could I "jump" to the gold version?
The gold Note 5 is available on Sprint as well.
Just got one today. Woot! They got 2 64GB gold models in today while I was standing there. Ha-ha. The T-Mobile guy asked if I had about 10mins to wait because he wanted to show me the gold model if I was ibterested, and I said I'll take it. He put the black one back and an employee got the other one. Not really that much gold though...more like a yellowish chrome kinda but definitely cool looking. Glad I waited for him to inventory it and snag it for me.
It's finally available on AT&T

I just jumped from the N4 to the gold 64gb N5 and it's definitely one of the most visually appealing devices I've ever had. I've a lot of white lately but the gold is where it's at.

I think sprint just got the gold option recently as well. I really wish they would have brought the emerald green over to the us in the note and s6 line. That green on the s6 edge overseas was just sexy as hell
Too bad they opened up with the 2 most boring colors. I would have got the gold if it was available at the time.

Late on this one, but in case anyone was wondering: I was told this doesn't work UNLESS you jump to a different memory size. It was from a phone rep so take it with a grain of salt
Verizon has it now as well but only 32GB, like the white one. The black is through only 64GB for some stupid reason.
If verizon had the gold 64GB I'd change my black for the gold...I love that phone in gold
