Hey, I thought this was standard on all Jellybean and up devices? I had it on galaxy nexus when I got Jelly Bean, I've seen other phones have it. I know this G2 has a POP UP message where you can quick reply but that is massively not the same. Much preffered in the notification area like all phones I know of. Am I not seeing the option? please tell me there is a way. I know that If you miss a call, you get the quick options in notification like call back and message...

Cmon, nobody? I'm assuming then it's not possible on the stock rom then?
I've yet to see that feature come standard on any skin except stock builds. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that was actually a feature CM or AOKP added onto the expandable notifications, I didn't think stock android or any skin actually have that by default. Again I could be wrong

Yea,it definitely came with jelly bean, quick reply and something.then roms would add more options.so I'm very surprised that lg might not have that feature

Hey XDA,
I took some time away from another project I'm working on (hopefully will also post that soon) to make this really simple app that will flash your camera's LED light 3 times when you receive an SMS, similar to what the iPhone does.
I've only tested it on my HD2 running CM9 so I can't guarantee it will work for your phone. Reply with what phone and what SMS app you are using, that way I can see about fixing any issues and maybe add compatibility.
This is a side project so don't expect any timely updates with added features but a few things I would like to add:
*Add notification for incoming calls
*Add options for number and duration of flashes
EVO 3d default mms and go sms

Hey, thanks for replying. I should have been more clear, does it work for you?

no it does not but i would love to help test it.
Good work. Looking ahead for further development
I don't know if this is something about Jelly Bean or ParanoidAndroid (the rom) I'm using, but when I make a call and get a busy signal, instead of getting a message that says the line is busy (like I used to with Gingerbread on my Nexus One), the call just abrubtly terminates the second I place it and says " call ended." This makes it seem like there's something wrong with my network and the call didn't go through at all.
Is this how the phone app is supposed to work in Jelly Bean?

I have the same thing with the Nexus 4 on 4.2.2. Tested it with Galaxy Nexus with 4.2.2 and it worked properly, so I think this is an issue with the Nexus 4.

Are you using stock Jelly Bean or a custom rom? Just trying to figure out if this issue is introduced by Paranoid Android or is part of AOSP.

Thank. It's funny that this is a hardware specific problem, since you don't see it on the galaxy nexus.

Thanks for the info. It's weird that such a basic and simple bug can persist for so long. I guess calling is just irrelevant on phones these days.
UK nexus 4 16gb on the latest 4.4.2 sw , still no busy notification
I recently switched from PA to Cyanogen 11 (KitKat), but still have this problem. If I call someone who is on the phone, I do not get a busy tone and I do not see the "busy" message on the screen. Instead the call terminates and I get a messages saying the call ended. This is confusing, because there's no way to tell that the call didn't just drop or fail to complete, rather than that the line you're calling is busy.
I see people mentioning in the Google forums that this problem exists on stock Android and even in Lollipop.
Anyone know of a solution? When I first got the Nexus 4 I did not have this issue.
I'm on the fence with this device, I have a couple of questions about this one so if I could please get some help.
-Is there any ROMS out there that lets you either hide the nav bar, or change the size of it to get back some more screen size?
-With the 4.2.2 OTA update, supposedtly the LTE for T-Mobile is disbled but there is a work around for this to come back?
I appreciate the help. I'm coming from a Galaxy S2 by the way, so has anyone made this transition?
Yes to both questions...
Paranoid Rom! Or PACman both have options to hide the nav bar and use pre controls!
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
I never did take the 4.2.2 OTA so can't help you there. But check out Paranoid Android who are the pioneers of Pie, which expands the desktop to hide the navbar completely. There are other popular ROMs (CM from what I hear) that have adopted this. As far as shrinking or resizing the navbar, any AOKP-derivative ROM or AOKP itself have that feature.
Just take a look around the dev forums, I'm sure you know most ROMs have their features listed on the 1st page. Welcome & have fun!
EDIT: "Pioneers Of Pie", haha
Thanks for the feedback.
I'm pretty sure the newer Nexus 4's come with 4.2.2 out of the box, so the work around for LTE will have to be done. I'll check out the ROMs to see the nav bar functions.

I want the one with the little bumps! I hardly ever put my GS2 on a hard surface directly, at work I always put my phone on a sticky note. So yea, if there is an "auto hide" function for the Nav bar, similar to hiding the Start menu in windows, I'm in.

A lot of roms, if not all have the navbar auto hide, and if you don't want the navbar there at all they have pie controls so you're covered there
If you can completely get rid of the nav bar (not auto hide), how do you go back or home? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Well then forget navbar resizing and go straight for any ROM boasting Pie Controls. You get rid of the navbar and get a much slicker alternative--while I've personally been there done that & reverted to standard navbar, a lot of folks have tried Pie and never gone back
EDIT: Here's a nice huge example pic. Very aesthetically pleasing buttons that fade in with a simple thumb gesture & fade out.

Not trying to be a d**k, but both of these questions could've been answered with a simple search. Kind of a waste of a thread.

Absolutely--what's even better is you can change their color & highlights to whatever you want. They're black by default & look good w whatever background you got

Did you notice the auto-brightness +5 to -5 slider that is in the shown in the notification panel? Looks like they added that feature in their software, or it was always there and we just needed Wanam to activate it. Either way, I'm glad it is included by default finally.
Damn that looks nice!! Especially the volume rocker is siiiickkk
Something not right about the signal bars.
Generic LTE signal bar, so not a T-Mo, VZW or AT&T variant.

I want to know why everyone else is getting leaks and we just get crickets
this is a good sign! hopefully we'll all get it soon.
If it runs the way Im hoping it runs I will be back to touchwiz to take full advantage of my Note 4! I just cant stand the delay in the recent apps or the little bits here and there.

It sucks that Lollipop has the heads up notifications instead of the classic notification ticker. You either get a huge banner that covers part of your screen for 10 seconds, or you get a single icon in the status bar.
I wish Samsung had implemented an option to choose the classic (as it is in 4.4) or new Lollipop style (looks like iPhone banners).
Well I noticed that Favorites is spelled the European way "Favourites"
I suppose that may mean nothing but still doesn't look ready for us yet

So far as I can tell there is no theme settings which is a bummer. The new UI look is nice and updated, but not much else has changed. Just getting myself familiar with everything. I'm actually not too impressed so far, though I did better on the Marshmallow android game than on the Lollipop one xD

Thanks! Sprint's service is mediocre where I live but it's very cheap and they roll out updates promptly (or as promptly as Samsung allows). Still, no theming is disappointing even though they did bring over updates to the S-pen.
Time to look forward to N, if not OTA then via custom ROMs! The multi-window there is more robust and behaves more how I'd expect it to.
Adoptable storage will work if you use the S7 work around via ADB

lol gonna piss off some guys at work tomorrow who have limited verizon plans that no more Pandora during work (for now anyway).
Also there's the option to turn off Fast Charge now, not sure if the previous had this option.
One more thing, even after your battery goes below 15% you can still adjust the brightness slider. It doesn't turn dark and dissappear now like it used to.
