Paranoid Android?.. - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hopefully an easy question..
Does anyone if anyone is currently working on bringing Paranoid android to the G2?
Its by far my favourite rom and I'd like to try my hand at porting it but don't want to duplicate work anyone else is doing.
Not mention I'm traveling in Australia and my only internet is tethering my phone so I would expect my progress to be slow.
Thanks in advance..

I think it's on vzn vs980

You seem like a decent guy but, first the guy that took the time to answer your post is one of the biggest names and best developers here currently.
Second, what the devs do is way beyond 'hacks'. This is open source software which is basically rebuilding the os from the ground up.
In any case and as he said you have a mesmerize . So just flash mez builds. I would recommend glitched AOKP personally.

Im very aware that these are more than hacks. I currently have a d3 rooted and with rom and started with a d1. I'm sorry I didn't try to offended anyone by saying hacks. I was just trying to find out if I could help my friend root and rom his us cellular mez ( which at the time I was uaware that was its proper name sorry). Thanks for your reply though, now that I know what forum to look in I'll go there

I think the ubuntudroid website doesnt exsist anymore. That would probably explain why you cant find a link to download it, That rom has a lot of battery and stability issues anyways.
Here it is: http://forum.sdx-developers.com/?topic=11041.0
You can check that website for other ROMs for the Intercept, which might be better and more current.
If anyone wants it pm me and I'll put it up where you can snag it. Found it recently on my intercept that I thought I had lost ages ago!!!! Was nice to find er again!!! UD rocks of course some issues but hey thats what testing is all about is it not? Try dif kernels and configurations til it's perfect!

What carrier are you on?
I'm almost positive the stock att ROM & Wicked ROM had Bluetooth tethering.. I'm running FoxHound ROM now and it definitely has BT tethering I just checked it

Att is thecarrier.
I'm stock now, and there is no Bluetooth tethering.
Any chance you can test it fox hound? So Roms do show the settings but in fact doesn't function.
Trying to their nexes 7 to sgs4.
If you could tether and open a webpage as test that would be great help.
Thanks

I've looked into porting it, but i'm not terribly experienced in that area at all... Aside from the fact that my tab is barely working atm... If I do get my tab working I'll take another look.

[Q] will N4 ever see a ported WiFi-Calling app?

So, will the nexus ever see a ported version of WiFi calling for T-Mobile?

I really don't think so. With 4.3 coming out soon, I really really don't think so.(Please prove me wrong tmo!)
Why do you mention 4.3 exactly?

That's the next update that's in the wings for our phones. This has some new code for Bluetooth and maybe other things I am not familiar with. But with this update alone, I highly doubt tmo will "add" wifi-calling to the N4 or even ever. If they intended it, they would have installed it on the Tmo version/sold by of the N4.
Right, but is it that integrated of an app that someone cannot port it into a custom rom, from a t-mobile phone on jellybean that has wifi-calling?

I don't know the semantics but the gist is not just an apk. I think it intertwines with framework and that's a lot of shifting through code to bring one app to light. I mean there's a thread created with a reward of like over $1,400 to "port" it. lol

That reward thread pretty much speaks for itself then.. lol...
Yeah I believe for ICS it still was an app, and easier to work with. But I did notice that in Jellybean it's no longer in app form, and it seems to be tied into the updated sim cards they are running and I guess, more "baked" into the framework itself.
You would think they would come out with a stand-alone app for ppl without actual T-mobile branded phones..
