Hi all,
I am interested to root my device that Mount the last italian firmware (I9505XXUDMHB). Soon also Italy will get the 4.3 firmware and before do some damage i ask to you what i can do.
In past i got a s3 device and the root was very simple but now with triggers and counters looks more hard.
The warranty is not a real problem for me but if its possible i would not void it...

Can i install some rom already rooted without "burn" the warranty?
The new knox prevents the root or only counts the times of unauthorized installation?
Thank you for all answers and forgive my bad english

knox, triggers and counters only effects the warranty.
As far as rooting being more difficult due to knox,triggers and counters is false and not true.
The i9500 phones are just as easy to root if not easier than any of the older S2, S3 samsung phones.
Good luck!
Only one specification: when you say "false" you mean 0... right?

I'm 99% sure I'm picking up a pristine unrooted note 3 (vzw) on Swappa.
A few things I wanted to know...
I need my root, that is very important to me. What is the current firmware update and is it able to to rooted w/ safestrap?
If not, what it the most recent firmware that can be rooted?
I have done a bit of research of the knox "security" bs. There seems to be a few different methods to root now and keep the flash counter in check.
What is the best and most current way to go about rooting?
Thanks for the help.
It depends on what version rom is in the phone. MI9 you can just odin over a stock rooted rom and then install safe strap. MJ7 you need to use kingo to root then install ss. Neither of these options will trip the Knox counter.
Thanks. Here is a snapshot from the current build the phone is on.

I'm doing as much research as possible on the note 3. I'm coming from a note 2 on beans 22, and formerly sgs3 on beans.
I'm a beans groupie
That's MJ7. Look up kingo and you should figure out anything you need. If you get stuck on something in particular just pm me or ask here. Good luck! NOTE: Don't try to use Odin while you're on MJ7 you'll soft brick and need to flash the.. Pit file.

Got it. I appreciate the help
I have a few questions regarding my S4, I hope someone can help me out here :laugh:
1. I have the I9505XXUBMG7 (4.2.2) EE firmware installed does this have KNOX? When I go to download mode there no mention of the 0x0 or 0x1 KNOX.....I don't have those 2 extra lines that most KNOX enabled users have, does this mean I don't have a KNOX bootloader installed? If so why do I have KNOX apks installed which I cannot disable or clear the data on in Applications?
2. My phone keeps asking to install a firmware update 45.31 MB in size, I keep postponing it for the max 3hrs that it shows, is there anyway to stop this update from downloading and pestering me all the time?
3. I would like to Debrand my phone, which is the lastest debranded firmware without KNOX bootloader I can install?
4. I would also like to root my device after the above.
5. I am currently locked to EE/Orange/T-Mobile, Do I unlock 1st before playing around with root and firmware?
Can anyone give me any advice thanks.

Well I got my unlock code today, I am unlocked to all networks thanks to, mobile unlocked 3hr wait for code :good:
I`m now rooted and still on my original EE Firmware :good:
Su said it wanted to disable some KNOX apps, so I said yes and it disabled them :good:
I don't have a KNOX boot loader, but my phone was full of KNOX related apks apps etc.... Maybe this firmware version is some EE Business setup??
I have PhilZ Touch custom recovery installed :good:
I have installed Titinium backup and froze the firmware upgrade app, among other things so they don't nag at me anymore :good:
Now Im just gona have a play :highfive:
Hello, lets make this a lesion for all of us xD
Recently tried to root my device not finding any good information anywhere, maybe im verry bad at searching but i managed to find some stuff that i figured is needed for this to work, since im comming from a pretty easy device to root i figured of all the reading it's verry hard to root your device without pulling the KNOX-waranty, which i did in this case my knox waranty is void as 0x1 which should be 0x0 as it was from the begining, so while this is done already i don't really care much about the waranty xD i just want my device to be rooted and have CWM recovery installed.
Basicly what i did was to follow this guide: http://true-android.blogspot.se/2013/11/root-n9005xxudmj7-galaxy-note-3-sm.html
This made my warranty void: 0x1 and set in this mode:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And that's about it, i can't boot my device, its only showing me that. I would like to have a step to step guide of how i actually root my device and installing CWM 6.0.4.7 so i can install any CM11 rom. A really noob frendly guide is what im looking for. Thanks
Clear cache and factory reset from recovery mode.
Search for cf autoroot and instructions always included.
It's because Chainfire has updated the file to 4.4 while your phone is on 4.3. Just follow this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423
And then for cwm here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2454079. Don't use 6.0.4.7 but 6.0.4.5 instead
This is the one to use for rooting 4.3.
And as Rosli59564 posted, flash CWM 6.0.4.5.
In a few days, I might pick up a Samsung Galaxy S4 (I9505) with build number that ends with NC8. I recently got aware of the recent samsung builds that prevents recoveries, though I am aware of the safestrap method. I've been looking and searching through a few threads (and google results) regarding with what build number I'll be getting, what I can do with it. (Normal recovery or safestrap method) but so far I only get information regarding MDL, MF3, MK2, etc.
I was wondering if someone could pin-point me to the right direction to what exactly I can and cannot do with this build. I'd appreciate it. Here's an image of the version I'll be getting.

It's a dutch version by the way.
Safestrap is not for your device. That's for the at&t version. You have the I9505 thus there is no protection what so ever (besides Knox).
The build number is not important for rooting or flashing custom recovery. Just use cf auto-root and you will be fine. Pick the recovery you want and flash away.
Awesome, thanks for the quick responds! I appreciate the information, as I'd prefer not to screw things up. Guess I didn't pay attention enough to the "AT&T" version. Though I find it a bit strange that they enforce a better security on 1 (or more) version(s) over the other, while it's the same device.
But I assume it has to do with the country / and their laws.
So, my friend got an S5 mini for chrismas and he wanted to root it so he tried everything. One morning he told me that he managed to root it with z4root but he restarted his phone and he lost the root. I didn't really believe him but I told him to continue trying and when it will be succesful send me a message. After some research a got to know that there's just one way to root to flash an older firmware with Odin, but as I read it can set Knox to 0x1 so I told him to stop trying. But this evening he sent me this picture:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And told me that he was just playing with z4root and it worked again.
After some hours of unsuccesful tries, we found the working method, to make something with it. Install SuperSU from Play Store (or if it's installed, then just run it) and let it install su with the "Normal" method and also let it disable Knox. And it worked! Proof:
But unfortunately it sets the Phone Status to Custom:
("Eszköz állapota" = "Phone status" and "Egyedi" = "Custom")
I am not really familiar with Samsung phones, so could you please tell me if there's a way to set it back to Official? (Maybe with Wanam Xposed)
You need an original firmware
You have to use Odin and the original firmware that you can find on the web
you flash the original firmware and everything will be as your friend bought the phone except for the root that you will lose.
