I managed to flash recovery without rooting my android (g2 d802), I made back up of my stock rom (which is not rooted) with TWRP.
However I am curious. if, I am rooting my g2 right now, and when I will restore to the stock rom I backed up earlier, can it be noticed that I have rooted? is there a root checker on d802?
I made a backup of the stock recovery and so on...

so yes my phone is rooted and all. i've always been flashing roms over and over. but ever since i flashed the AOSP 2.2 OTA my recovery image goes back to stock after reboot. so i have to use ROM manager to keep reflashing a recovery for me. This is the first rom i have that is doing this. Is there a way to fix it or just make it permanent?
fixed it. i just flashed another rom.
Hi guys. I have read many posts about this things and I am not really sure on what to do. So I have a nandroid backup with stock rom and kernel. I am on francos+paranoidandroid now and I want to go back to stock with locked bootloader and unrooted for warranty purposes. Before I flashed a custom rom and kernel, I made a backup when I was still in stock rom and stock kernel. My questions are:
1. Do I need to flash stock boot image before restoring my backup to get back to stock rom and kernel, then lock bootloader and unroot?
or
2. I will just restore backup of stock rom and kernel, lock bootloader and unroot? No need to flash stock boot image first?
Thank you!

if you want to go back to stock for warranty purporses... you will have to flash the factory images..
restoring backup of stock rom wont get back the factory recovery.... but can unroot and lock bootloader if u restore backup...
so if u are sending for warranty purposes... flash using factory images...
Hi Guys,
Just a quick question from a rookie.
I like changing custom rom since I rooted my LG G2 about a month ago and experimenting some custom roms on my LG G2 D802.
I have managed to successfully flashed few custom rom such, Paranoid Android, ClaudyFlex 2.4, Liquid Smooth and CyanogenMod. I always do backup on TWRP everytime I have fully restore all my app on each ROM i'm using. My question is, is it possible to restore only the apps that I have previously downloaded via TWRP? as I hate re-downloading again all the apps via wifi that sometimes take a very long time to fully restore from PlayStore.
Let say I'm now using CyanogenMod 11 with TWRP 2.7 recovery installed. I want to change my ROM to Pardus Classic HD ROM. Should I just simply restore from my back up (Pardus Classic HD ROM+Gapps+all downloded apps on .zip file) that I have done previously using TWRP recovery or should I clean wipe and install the Pardus ROM first, then do a restore of backup from TWRP backup folder after the Pardus HD ROM has been fully installed on my device.
Sorry for a rookie question... just enjoy the beauty of rooting devices and so keen to experimenting here and there...
Regards,
ePWT

Before update the recovery and install CM11 i made a backup with CWM and now i want to restore this backup.
How can i do this? Can i install CWM using the kitkat on my phone?
Sorry for the dumb question, but I'm afraid of doing something wrong.

I have discovered that I need it too because my phone is loked and, to enter my carrier unlock code, i need to restore my backup made with CWM.
Looking for the same.
Yesterday i have installed 2ndInit to get back CWM recovery and restore my original stock ROM image.
Android can not complete the full boot, showing the intro of my carrier during a hour while loading Android.
Reinstalled TWRP and recovered my CM11 backup.
I will try again and, if not suceded, i will flash my carrier SBF to unlock my phone.
I will inform any news about CWM restore stock ROM.

I think this happens because the roms use different file systems
Try the Aroma Wiper to change the file system:

I'll try this, but now i'm without time, then i report if it work.
I got my phone working.

About revert to stock ROM, only doing a factory reset to format my data partition fix the boot (I did not try AROMA or safewipe.zip).
I do not tried to restore data from my stock dump after got my phone working because it was not my objective, but i think that it is possible and simple after get it working.
Thanks.
Hi guys, at the moment I have lineage on my device and I was trying back to stock using my backup from stock Oreo what I did before I root my phone. Unfortunately after restoring I get bootloop. How I can back to stock?
Have you tried manually flashing the stock boot and recovery from the stock rom??
No I didn't. I will give it a shot.
